I want to try again, but thought I would ask, in case you had a little trip or trick to try! lol! Thanks!!!
@@EvelynAndPeterCrochet The over all size of the right sleeve compared to the left sleeve, it’s was substantially bigger. My tension is pretty consistent, and I’ve made many of your projects and this has never happened. So I must be reading the pattern wrong or something??

Hi Rachel! I recently just started crocheting and I decided to make this my first project! I just finished both panels and only then did I realize my right panel is completely too big. I was honestly devastated since I was so close to finishing and wanted to wear this out. I sent you some pictures of it on IG and I was hoping you might know where I went wrong so that I could either find a fix or know where to restart. I would appreciate any help, thank you!!
@aryanaghasemi6977 hey! I did get a response, basically I think the tension for my second panel was more loose so I’m planning on redoing the decreasing rows and if needed I might remove a row or two all together. Pretty much going to play by ear and measure the sleeve as I crochet so that it aligns as closely to the other one as possible. You can also steam block (?) the larger side to make it come together more. But also note that once you stitch the two pieces together it shouldn’t be as noticeable.
@@sherrizee Hi I had the same issue! I have made the right sleeve 2x and it is like an inch and a half longer than the left both times. I have the same stitch count and row count. I am so confused!! Have you been able to correct yours??
I've been a crocheter for almost 55 years - I can give you all a little general advice, NOT specific to this pattern. If you are absolutely sure you're following the pattern correctly & stitching the correct number of stitches and rows but consistently getting one sleeve longer or wider than the other, there are easy remedies, but you need to keep your tape measurer close at hand! First of all, if you're consistently longer on one sleeve, you can try using a different, shorter stitch in an inconspicuous place on the 2nd sleeve, like in the back use single crochets for as many rows as you need to shorten to the correct measurement, then go back to the half-double crochets once you've shortened up your "longer" piece by the amount you keep coming up longer. OR, you can undo the piece that's shorter, and do enough rows in the back in double crochet to add the measurement in that you're coming up long on the other sleeve, then do the "longer" sleeve as you've been doing it. No one but you & nosy fellow crocheters will notice the change in the stitches to even it up, and you otherwise do everything the same. If the problem is that you are stitching too loosely, you can also try going down a hook size or two for that longer sleeve. For instance, if this pattern calls for a size H 5mm hook, try using a size G 4mm or G+ 4.5mm hook, but only on the side with the longer sleeve. You don't need to do anything else differently, just crochet the pattern as you did before; the smaller hook will make smaller stitches. However, pay attention! If continuing to use the smaller hook will make that piece too much smaller, then once you've achieved symmetry, go back to the regular hook you were using. I hope this little bit of advice helps! I'm making something similar as a gift with knit sleeves & a crochet/Tunisian crochet "scarf" across the back, but I'm going to try this pattern for myself sometime. Good luck!
Hi I love you pattern and have a lot of fun making it for my sister. I am however stuck at row 53, if I repeat row 45 (as the pattern says) I end up with 57 Dc instead of 59 Dc. I cannot figure out what I did wrong and I don't understand the extra numbers in some rows like in 53 (45,43, 43,43). Can you help me?
I have frogged my right armpiece back to row 52 and there I could 60 hdc, just like the pattern says for the largest size. I dont know what I am doing wrong when following the pattern?
Hi! It looks like you are reading the row repeat for the wrong size. You should be repeating Row 43 for the 4x/5x not row 45. The pattern is written as XS(S/M, L/XL, 2X/3X, 4X/5X) So in that sequence of numbers that you pointed out - Repeat row 45(45, 43, 43, 43) the 5X size reads the last number only. The other numbers are for the different sizes provided.
