As a young bloke , I had a HR premier which I bought at the Auctions for $950 , back in 1980 , It was A Pops car when I got it only had 64,000 miles on the clock , a little bit of rust in the door bottoms (as usual) Fowlers ivory with a black vinyl roof and red leather interior 👍 I pretty much rebuilt it, from a 179 power glide to An X2 specs car With a 186 hp block bored to 192 balanced blueprinted , Yella terra XU1 head and Race Cam alloy teeth Disk brakes LSD , Perry extractors and exhaust Triple carbs ( But didn’t like them ) Went to a Holley with Edelbrock manifold, Still didn’t like it, So got a Stromburg off a HQ 202 rebuilt it and jetted it up to the Max , Ran Better, Upgraded suspension Slotted chrome wheels and BF Goodrich Tyres, Replaced the doors and Stripped down Respray ,,, Oh and I replaced the auto with an All Aussie XU1 4 Speed manual 👍👍🤪🤪🤪⁉️. Went like a scolded Cat , But Sadly I sold it a few Years later , I’ve Regretted It for years now🥲 Good luck with your Build ⁉️⁉️⁉️✅
Nice,,,,spotto twin note horns, a complete wood grain insert dash and I ‘think’ I saw front indicator star inserts!,! Get a VH40 booster for the drums if you’re keeping the drum front end. Nice to see people taking care of a Classic!
Nice HR sedan, I have a restored a couple of them, good to see you have a 350 holley on the red six, a nice bump stick to give it a little bit more poke, and a little head work, will be a great car finished. Good video.
My parents had a 1967 HR Premier wagon in the same original turquoise colour. It was actually quite a rare colour for this particular model if I remember correctly?
@@wyliescarhunt9297 thats a pretty good price for someone else to do the car. thats realyl fair looks good. Hope me and my dad can make our AP6 valiant lok good. we are doing it ourselves
@@Jo_Wardy that's an awesome project to have on! The big thing with this car too was the roof was already in primer but needed re doing which they did free of charge. Good price definitely
@@wyliescarhunt9297 yeah but our car needs rust wholes fixed then needs the old surface rust and peeling paint primed or sandblasted. but yeah we are doing a quick resto to save money plus the cars engine is already amazing. and perfect. we also got the car for 4k running.
As an old Holden fan - I had a HD when I was 18 - I agree that the paint job is great.
Nice colour

Thats awesome mate. I didn't know much about them until my friend got this. Such a cool cruiser!

Nice!!!
I had a HR Premier in the 80s . It got stolen 4 times. Too hard to secure so I got rid of it.

G'Day you mentioned about an addative to boost the octane in the modern fuel.
What's the addative you use please very interested
How much was the paintjob/ car when it was bought.
Me and my dad are doing a car from the same era 1966 ap6 valiant.
Hey mate, the paint job set him back around $5000. Was pretty fairly priced considering the amount of work they did.
