I think the SD is the best watch Rolex makes. I love the look, the size, the complications, the functionality, everything! It’s great in Steel with white or black dial but the blue dial with Jubilee is beyond fantastic.
My ideal Sky Dweller is in rose gold with rhodium dial on an Oysterflex strap. It's hands down the most comfortable watch you'll ever wear when it's sized perfectly to your wrist. I used to hate it because I thought the "fins" on the underside of the strap were annoying, until I tried one on that was sized correctly for me. Now I can't wait to get my hands on one!

The SD is physically big, will look well proportioned on a medium to large wrist. If you don't care about proportion and "fit" in that context then it's a stunner irrespective of wearer.
Was going to buy the 2 tone ... but after wearing the sub most days I really don't like the sky dweller clasp... much prefer the extra safety clasp of the sub.
I got the Rolex bug, and have all models. I recently added the Skydweller, and consider it my favorite of my collection. It is not the complication for me, but the jubilee on a 42 mm with a blue face is magical.
Very luck to own a Sky-Dweller & Sea-Dweller, find the ‘Sky’ harder to read in low light and the date window is very reflective… other than that, I absolutely love them!
I've worn a two-tone blue Sub that I installed a Yachtmaster gold bezel on for the past 20 years. It is the most beautiful watch I have ever seen! (Until now!) I want a Sky Dweller now!
After looking months to find a deal with reasonable pricing I just ordered mine with the black dial two days ago. The patience you need after ordering a watch online is unreal. Never ever was I so hyped and impatient like right now over an order. It’s really an outstanding watch from an outstanding manufacturer.

I'd wonder how much and long a service would be...I imagine it's expensive and take longer than a non complicated Rolex. Im not a Rolex fan, but I do like this watch.
I find the Sky Dweller *slightly bulbous in its case aspect (compared to my vintage GMT), but honestly i don't think that would be a deal-breaker for what looks pretty darn near an actual Calendar watch, only guised in a rugged Oyster sports watch... as only Rolex can manufacture and conceive. The really alluring thing about the Sky Dweller is how it absolutely imitates Nobody in its design, and yet... it doesn't do anything silly or novel just to be different. Seriously, that kind of originality is simply Not Heard Of by any corporation, whether it's watches, cars or aircraft. I think that bringing the Sky Dweller to market was truly the most Rolexy thing Rolex could have done.... Go them 💙 ~

I have ordered this with an AD in black dial with Jubilee bracelet and so I was so happy to see your video reviewing the black dial version (sadly not the Jubilee though), which you did with appreciable enthusiasm that reflects my own thoughts about this watch. What was also very cool is that you did some wrist shots of how it looks on a 6.5" wrist, which very few other reviewers do, and as a man with only a slightly larger wrist than James, it really helped to reduce my concerns that it would look too big. It actually looks really good on him. :)
Great watch that I am on a waiting list for . This is one watch that if Rolex were to ever discontinue it would go through the roof . Great video but I think you needed a glass of Courvoisier with the SkyDweller, it’s only fitting for such an elegant Rolex that sits on top in the complications hierarchy of Rolex.
Yeah I hope to hell and back that I get one before they ever discontinue it. I don't think they will for a few years at least though, and my wish is that they release a 40mm version. :)

Not a big fan on the Sky Dweller myself, I love the complication and respect the hell out of it and how cool it is to operate but its just a bit too similar to their existing models. There's already the EX1, OP, DJ (forgot the MG and AK) and DD that are very very close to this, I wish Rolex would go just a tad bit outside the box. Would have been great in a YM2 case w/o that stupid name on the bezel. Congrats, I hope you love that watch, its super awesome.

I'm now thinking that a DJ36 with fluted bezel and jubilee would make the perfect dress watch for me. Just the right amount of bling while maintaining the classic Rolex look and size. And the fluted bezel and jubilee were made for each other. Can't have one without the other :) I used to wear nothing but 42 mm and larger watches but I'm really loving my under 40 mm watches now.

Love this model..tried it on a few times, at the AD, a couple of years back, but even with an average wrist size its way too big on the wrist..pity..it needs to be a couple of mm smaller or the lugs to be reshaped..enjoyed the video..a lot..👏👏👏

I wanted a steel one my AD had a 2 tone on the way in was heading across the pond shortly pre covid arrived in time. Was great able to keep in contact right time with home worked perfectly fit great, comfortable looked good feel in love with it. 42mm perfect size for me 7.75" wrist. Excellent review 🙂👍👍👍

Blue Sky D in Jubilee is the GOAT. I agree the most sought after Rolex! Moreso than the newly released Mint Green I hear from a lot of AD's I'm in contact with.
I like this watch in gold with a white and blue face. I can imagine wearing it on my 300Ft Yacht with my shirt open, my ray bans on, my music up, sipping Mai Tais with my best mate Jay Z.... :D

It's a big watch with a huge dial the perpetual calendar is clever but not as clear as more traditional alternatives. The off centre 24 hour display looks wrong and I suspect it will be difficult for it to retain water resistance with the bezel mechanism. Great review, horrible bling watch in my opinion anyway 😁

Gringa, I think you need to scale down to 34mm or 36mm watches. They fit you. I'm 6'-4'' and I finally embraced 36mm as these watches sit more naturally on the wrist.

The YM2 also uses the bezel to adjust the complication of the count down. Rolex are clever

This is my next watch to be added onto the waiting list blue face white gold / stainless. But do I go for an oyster or jubilee strap????

this watch is an hidden gem.A totally most functional daily watch;hardest to be counterfeit (especially the gold model 200g),most complex with 360+ parts ;almost no homage watch (very unique);very esay to read by any means .

Steel and blue dial for me please. Love it, can’t have it. It’s the only watch my AD uses the name of the watch and the word “impossible” in the same sentence.

It's a big watch with a huge dial the perpetual calendar is clever but not as clear as more traditional alternatives. The off centre 24 hour display looks wrong and I suspect it will be difficult for it to retain water resistance with the bezel mechanism. Great review, horrible bling watch in my opinion anyway 😁

Do you build a purchase history with an AD by buying pieces you really don't want for the hopes of a grail watch? Or, do you just spend the money you would have spent and buy grey market. Gringa, I think you need to scale down to 34mm or 36mm watches. They fit you. I'm 6'-4'' and I finally embraced 36mm as these watches sit more naturally on the wrist.

Magnificient watch already behind getting the blue dial for months and obviously many more to come, I just moved all my contacts but still very very difficult, hope to get it one day cause abviously I'll not go for the overpriced grey market ones, it's a real shame that is happening with this brand

Ready for this? My Local AD Was Smash and Grabbed the Rolex Case Last October "All Expedition watches" . But the thieves Missed One Piece. They Literally left the Best for ME! 326934 Blue Sky Dweller AT RETAIL! The Only Draw Back? No Papers which means the 5 Year Warranty is through the Store and No Extra Links. How big of deal is it not to have Papers and the extra links? Thanks for the Great Vids!
