As a Sky Dweller owner, I can say that it is the most impressive watch in my collection. I travel and change time zones all the time for work, and the GMT function is incredibly easy to use. The Annual Calendar is what makes this the workhorse of my collection. Only changing the date once a year (from February to March) is just a treat in and of itself. One thing that wasn't mentioned is the little window at the end of each index. This is white for 11 of the markers, and red for the 12th....that one being the current month. 1 is for January, 2 is February, 3 is March....12 is December. Whichever is the current month, it will turn red. Nobody really forgets the month, but it's still a very unique complication, and further sets this watch apart from anything else Rolex makes or any other high end watchmaker. I love this watch so much, I am currently waiting on a Green Dial Jubilee (my other is a black dial Oyster). I already have a blue dial Date Just 41, so the green dial SD will give me a nice trifecta of those style watches.
Also got on the waiting list for the green dial soon as it come out at Watches and Wonders this year, wonder if getting on the list for the green dial moves you up the list with it being so new….🧐
It is not my cup of tea but I just have to say it is an impressive watch to look at, not to mention the complications. Also congrats on the soon-to-be trifecta!
I just got my Skydweller this week from my AD, it has the new 9002 movement and this watch is amazing . I love it already and am wearing it more than my Pepsi GMT . I received the black dial stainless steel with white gold bezel . I wanted the blue dial but when my AD said a Skydweller came in and it was a black dial and once I tried it on that was it . Amazing watch with amazing complications . Thank you Jenni, your videos are always top quality . cheers from Greece .
Do tell how much brown nosing of a Rolex AD did you have to engage in? I have the money to spend and can't wait to purchase a Sky Dweller but mannnn dealing with the obnoxious and fucking arrogant Rolex dealerships has put such a bad taste in my mouth, it has altogether turned me off of the brand. I'm really considering dropping some extra few thousands and getting one off grey market than suck up to AD's to buy a watch.

Its on my list! I am going black dial on an oyster. I am a big strap guy, so I might play around with some interesting straps. The blue dial is very appealing, but owning some blue dial watches already, they are not the easiest to strap. That coupled with a YM42 white gold should be the 2 Rolex entrants in the collection.
Even tho i am 100% an Oyster guy when it comes to Rolex bracelets, still i think the Jubilee may be the sweet spot for this watch. Because the dial is slightly busy to look at, And it has the bezel fluting, the Jubilee just seems to integrate it all together best. Obviously it's a matter of personal preference, and if i was offered a SD on an oyster i'd snatch it in a heartbeat 😁
I walked into an AD about three weeks ago in Hong Kong and they offered me a few SD models, yellow gold case and bracelet white dial; two tone black dial jubilee bracelet; and white gold white dial with oxyflex. At the price point, the yellow gold and white gold are way beyond my budget. The two tone black dial with jubilee is a spot on and price is affordable (I am not buying now some said the market price is lower than the list price; buying from AD is way giving me a peace of mind than the grey market especially in Hong Kong). I like this SD very much.
I am 100% in love with this watch's technological achievements and how they're implemented via the case and dial. I am also, however, not in love at all with its overall design. Hopefully one day they'll find a way to implement the bezel and calendar functions into something smaller and less clunky, like a Day-Date.
I have liked the SD for a long time, but the one in rosegold on black rubber looks 🤑🤩. I have 18 cm wrists, and I think 42mm is often too big for me. Of course many factors weighing in, my Longines Master Collection Moonphase is ok, but it has a very complex dial, and short lugs so it works, but a watch as dressy as the Sky-Dweller it kinda looks tacky on me. I haven't tried a SD, but other half-dressy 42mm, even with short lugs, and I just look like an awkward 15 year old on boxing day wearing the Casio Edifice his grandparents gave him for Christmas. This watch is basically only for blokes of 1.90+ cm tall.
I now NEED this watch, I have 7 3/4 inch wrists so this larger Rolex is perfect. And now knowing that it is a technical masterpiece, it is now my grail. Are you a fan of two tone? I really like
As Rolexes go, it's not a bad looking watch, but I don't like the hour & minute hands, and, as usual for me, the cyclops is a deal breaker. Lose the cyclops and I can get past the hands. Excellent review.

I was told between the two, the blue was easier and was called a week later to come pick it up. Having it in hand, not disappointed at all. The blue is absolutely stunning.
Rolex daytona specially from 2016 ceramic one is handsome watch and more with a hype but Rolex skydweller is something more about complications from Rolex which makes me lean toward sky

I tried it on in a shop and found that the date is very hard to read. It is too low down in the housing and a lot of shadow makes it realy hard to read. Together with the gigantic size it gets a thumb down from me. But to be honest the complications are great. If Rolex whould shrink it, it would be very nice one ...

Yeah the sky dweller is not a rare watch and the only reason you can’t pick one up at a AD is because Rolex has lost complete control over their brand. There is a ton of brand new unworn ones in both references for sale for in the hands of resellers. Then there is the use inventory and there is plenty of them for sale in the hands of resellers. These watches are way overpriced in the secondary market as I see many of them just sitting week after week. Now is not a great time to buy as prices have a ways to fall to meet demand.
I respect these watches, but they are too big for me and something about the asymmetrical placement of the 24hr wheel rubs me the wrong way. Love the complications, command bezel, and overall ethos - just not a watch I want

They call it an annual calendar, but the problem is that nobody ever forgets what month it is, but they do forget what day of the week. I would not consider it an annual calendar if it only had the date and the month.
If a watch is able to keep track of the correct date for an entire year, regardless of the indications on its dial, then it is an annual calendar. For example, Moser’s perpetual calendar displays the leap year indicator on the caseback side, making for a cleaner dial. In theory, the month could be displayed on the backside, as well, leaving the dial to only display the time and date; yet, it would still be considered a perpetual calendar. On the other end, there are “simple” (comparatively) triple calendars that are neither annual nor perpetual calendars, even though they show the day, date, and month, and still need to have the date corrected five times a year. This latter type of watch is the least useful to me, since I don’t see the point of displaying the month if it’s not even used for configuration of an annual or perpetual calendar-like you said, who forgets what month it is?
Hans Wildorf, the founder of Rolex, was a German. But regardless, if you speak a different language and have an accent, it’s not easy to pronounce everything correctly
I had one for 3 months and sold it. It's not a great watch. It tries to do too many things, so it's not good at any of them. The main "innovation" is a worthless feature where instead of simply reading the month in a fixed window, you hunt around the dial and then do math in your head to figure out what month is, as if you didn't already know. It has a dead spot that does nothing in its Ring Command bezel. It's a lousy sports watch and a lousy dress watch. The GMT feature is very poorly executed. A way overpriced white elephant of a watch.
Standard ‘Rolex arc’ - ugly ducking to coveted ‘star’…people are still making videos about how big it is, how complicated or cluttered the dial is, etc….if I am not mistaken, even Jennie has some old videos where she is not all that keen on it… Ultimately it says more about people than it does about the product….

my black dial S-D is with jubilee bracelet. Far better looking with the jubilee.
If they made one in 39mm then I’d…well…I still wouldn’t be able to get one. But I’d seriously consider not being able to get one if it were 39mm.

That’s why I put mine on a winder. But it’s also the easiest annual calendar to set, so there is that.

This watch is technically brilliant, but fugly as hell. I'd buy this, flip it, and get an A. Lange & Sohne. Just my opinion.
