Some others have commented on mistakes but just wanted to be clear on some factual errors here. 1. This is reference 326939 not 326938 2. This is all solid white gold. There's no steel mixed into the gold, no steel links, no steel case or case back and no rhodium plating or the like. If you look at a ref.326938 which is all yellow gold then this is exactly the same but all white gold. 3. Rolesor (not "Rolesar") is Rolex's name for where some components are gold and some are steel. This is where it gets confusing because all Sky Dwellers have a gold bezel. The white Rolesor is all steel except for only a white gold fluted bezel. The yellow gold Rolesor adds solid yellow gold to the centre links of the bracelet and the crown. The top-end, solid yellow gold, solid rose gold (Everose) and (now discontinued) solid white gold watches are in the minority in the range because they are NOT Rolesor watches.
Correct. Alloying steel with gold does not produce the best of both worlds, in fact it is quite the opposite. Depending on the ratio, you end up with weak steel or discolored gold.
The Sky Dweller is technically a marvellous beast. But I kinda doubt the water resistance. Because the bezel unlike diver bezels IS connected to the movement (I guess) so there has to be “only“ some rubber gasket sliding back and forth 🕵😅
My vote for a watch you should investigate and review is the Omega Aqua Terra 150m GMT Worldtimer that Watchbox currently has. This is reference 220.93.43.22.99.001. I'd be curious to see how it compares to the Patek World Time 5131J you checked out!
Absolutely love the quality of your videos. Would love to see you do a series on compressor watches, like: - IWC Vintage Aquatimer Ref. IW323101 - Maurice Lacroix Pontos S Diver - (a comeback to) Longines Legend Diver Compressor Maybe there are some really good compressors we've missed ? It's such an interesting diver lineage, overshadowed by the usual Rolex-type-divers. Would love to see you compare a few watches one-to-one in a longer video. Thanks for all the great content, TGV !
Rolesor here means that the case and bracelet are 904L steel and the bezel is white gold. It’s not a blend of those two metals, just using both metals for different parts of the watch.
I tried on the two tone version of this watch a few weeks ago. Never thought about a sky dweller to be honest. But got it on wrist and couldn’t stop thinking about it. For my 7.6” wrist this is the sweetest of sweet spots. I never saw a watch on my wrist that was probably built for me as good as this. I have 38 watches of varying sizes and even my wife, who doesn’t like watches, said this was perfect!! However, getting one new from AD has proved a challenge. As hard as I tired they wouldn’t sell me the one they had.
Breguet marine 5857BR. P.S. This was one of your best reviews. Congrats on being so honest about the negatives, especially since most of us won't experience this watch personally, and if you kept quiet, we would all have a wrong perception of this piece. Keep up the excellent work. P.P.S. Can't wait for the next state of the collection.
This dude makes SUCH NICE HARMFULL videos. Nice classic music. Nice Studio (room). He has a good taste for everything. Very nice to watch especially on a beautifull sunday with a Special Belgium Beer in my hand.
If you go with the white face version of sky dweller, or any other face that has hashes instead of numbers, you get luminescence on the hours. Perfectly fine in the dark.
after so many years and other watches purchasing and selling i finally got my sky dweller in blue, all i can say is what a beautiful watch..... except the size, for my 17mm wrist, abit too big, also the thickness, almost scratched it because didn't get used to the size of the watch, but trust me guys. worth it absolutely
Hey TGV, big fan of the channel. Quartz is mostly used for more affordable watches, but I’ve never really seen a video on higher end quartz watches like more expensive G-Shocks, Rolex quartz, and Grand Seikos. It would be cool to give a high end quartz watch compared to mechanical ones at the same price point. Thanks!
The grail....once you have the money to buy anything you better figure out what you really want or you end up with a huge collection and no grail to hunt. Thanks for the Skydweller review. Never realized it had this many complications. It flew under my radar, Impressive watch.
I would love to see a video all about the bond watches in order of film. The bond films from a child are why I love watches and also why I scuba dive, as you are a movie fan this would be great to see, all the best Keith.
Saw my first Watchbox TV commercial here in NY/NJ area. It was maybe, a 15 second spot. Nicely done ! it's the first time I ever wished a tv commercial was longer. I half expected to see you pop on the screen or maybe handle the narration duties.
It's funny how even a supposed "failure" is so highly sought after. It cracks me up when you discuss sizing and bemoan the "larger is better" trend as my wrist is 8.75" in the winter, almost 9.0" in the summer. That behemoth would never stay centered on my wrist, it would always sag to the outside. Good review, I like it without all the extra production. Well done lad.
Tris, I respectfully disagree. I have a medium/large wrist and find that it fits very well. Aside from the incredible complications, which you correctly note, I think it is, particularly in two tone, an incredibly beautiful watch. This is particularly true in the age of Genta Mania. The new Lange is being marketed as a “luxury watch with sports features”. Although I am a Lange fan and owner, I think the Sky Dweller fits this description better than the new Lange.
Since you have reviewed a Lange why not get a Glashutte Original with similar complications and see how they compare. Also this video has given me a new appreciation for the sky dweller I never knew it had an annual calendar I always assumed it was just another gmt watch. The size is a little off putting but I'm willing to look past that for one of my favorite complications. Yes I would love to have a perpetual calendar but honestly I would drive my self nuts trying to save up for one. So thank you, you have just given me a new grail.
I have the 2 tone, jubilee bracelet with a white dial (opalescent) and the lumed rectangles instead of numbers. There's no problem in viewing in the dark at all for local time. I guess you bought the wrong version. Had my sd since 2023, around August from my ad and really use all the functions. She's multiple watches rolled up into one. A nice touch from Rolly'S offerings! 😅 ❤
Honestly, in my opinion, this watch is a homerun from Rolex. It's gorgeous and for guys with normal wrist sizes, it's just right size-wise. Yes it's heavy I've tried the white gold and steel one on but that's just the price you pay for what you get.
As the owner of a stainless Sky-dweller, I can tell you I love the 42 mm size. It is one of the main reasons I purchased it. I find the GMT too small and appreciate the overall size and comfort of the Sky-dweller. We all have opinions, but 42 mm is the perfect watch size.
Thanks! This will be my next watch. I do have big wrists.. I only miss that the white gold is also on the bracelet. Not just on the bezel. I I would pay the premium. I don't like the yellow gold and steel combination.
Was wondering your thoughts on the seiko coutura perpetual solar SSC376P-9 as I was looking at getting one soon but can't find a decent in depth review.
Do you believe this was more intentional than previously thought? When you mentioned a smaller stainless steel model, I immediately thought of the stainless steel Daytona. Have they done this to preserve the Daytona model? Would this have a negative effect in long-term aspects for the brand?
Just a few days ago I got a call from my friendly ROLEX dealer to pick up a Sky-Dweller steel with blue bezel. Only a few hours later I put it on my wrist and frankly it didn't feel much top heavy although the strap wasn't adjusted to my size. Basically I liked it for the following reason: First of all I have lot's of Rolex models but so far no Sky-Dweller, then my favourite colour is blue (I was wearing a Rolex Yacht Master steel with blue bezel for reference) but of course it's different the colour of Sky Dweller being more discrete and elegant. Compared to the Deep See it feels definitely much less heavy and as I like the complication and the overall look I will most likely go for it but I need to get the green light from my wife first because she will look at it too. Thanks for your video about this remarkable time piece. It raised important aspects but it seems that my view differs although I'm not Arnold.
Let’s just say size does matter. This watch isn’t for the tiny wristed. However, for those that can manage it; this is one of the greatest watches in the modern era. It’s not everyday a new watch with such a fine complex movement comes into the marketplace. Rolex deserves big credit for this watch. If you’re lucky to get one in the blue steel, you will find that it’s purely hypnotic to ones soul. I wish more manufactures moved beyond the decades had the creativity to bring new ideas to market like this. If only Rolex did more of this; Wow!
I would love to see a Glashuttë Original review! Not sure anyone makes a finer watch for the money. Perhaps one of the more affordable Senator Panorama Date models?
The Urban Gentry Is it? I had no idea. I always thought it would be better to replace it with a non cyclops crystal and keep the original in case one wants to sell it down the road. By the way, that AP is a beauty!
TGV, forgive me if I’m wrong: Rolesor refers to a steel watch with a portion of it in gold, such as the 18ct gold bezel on a datejust or a two tone sub with steel and yellow gold. When Rolex makes a white gold watch they just refer to it as 18ct if the entire watch is solid gold.
Hi TGV, I'm relatively new to the channel as I've only been watching for a few months but I'm really enjoying going through your back catalogue of videos whilst keeping up with everything new you're posting. Anyway I'd love to hear your thoughts on the G-Shock GA2100 1A1ER and I also wondered what your thoughts were on the Ressence range of watches?
I enjoyed this video, very much. Both entertaining and instructive. I've always tended to ignore the Rolex Sky-Dweller only because of its looks. Rather ugly, I thought. Now I have a much better perspective. Though I am late with my comment, in answer to your request I'd like to see a review of the Jaeger LeCoultre Master Control Date.
The complication is fascinating. I just would prefer a GMT style hand over that off-center 24 hr rotating dial. I understand the over all look to be designed as something dressy like a date just. Over size for me is meh since I wear 44mm DSSD daily. Great engineering but not working for my simple mind. In a world without smart phones this watch would be amazing. I don't hate it. Just looks like a busy Date Just.
I'd like to see you review the Baume & Mercier Clifton...or anything crazy like Richard Mille. Thanks for the review of the Sky Dweller. I have a new-found respect for it.
I love my Steel/Yellow Gold White Dial (336933) . I do have other Rolex but this one finds it's way back on my 7 1/2 inch wrist. I can't keep it off for long!
Nice review of the watch TGV but I have to say that I can't agree with your opinion about it being too large. I have the stainless steel model and in my opinion, I feel that it fits my 6 1/2inch wrist fine. Yes it is a bigger watch but not overwhelmingly large, especially when compared to something like the Deep Sea Sea Dweller so don't scare folks off from the Sky-Dweller.
I spy with my little eye . . the gold, Bulgari Octo Finissimo 102371. I'd love for you to do an in-depth review of that movement! BTW, that analysis of the sky dweller was spot on; it is just too darned bulky, even given the added complexity.
Breguet classique with the world on the dial. Looks pure class. Also I’d love for your thoughts on Timex new releases with the automatics and an American made watch for us who can’t afford a $10k watch.
I don't see too much IWC on this channel, so how about the IWC DaVinci Perpetual Calendar? Looks pretty classy to my eyes, and that's saying something, given that I'm not the biggest fan of gold.
Please review a Longines Conquest Heritage. What is, what I think, the best dress piece for around 1000 bucks. I know, it is not a grail piece, but it is a nice addition to your collection.
It seems that a Titanium Case and an Alligator Strap would take care of the heft problem. It can easily shave 75 gr. all at once, but not solving the bulkiness issue, a design problem that I think would need to change the case so much, as to take away much of what makes this watch esthetically a Rolex. Keep up the fine work. Hoping to see you soon walking the NY streets again.
This is a very cool watch. I personally dont like the bezel being used for the setting. The size is not an issue for me but hopefully they create more sizes so all people can be satisfied. Looking forward to the next video. Keep up the good work.
i have been looking for a sky-dwelleer homage, but couldnt find any that as close as the og rolex itself. with its price tag and too many thefts around on trips, rolex isnt a good option for travelling at all
Perfect video to look at during my night shift brake. I can't say I dislike the Sky-Dweller. However, I think you're right about the strange vibe that surrounds this watch... Please review the Bulgari Octo Finissimo or the A. Lange & Sohne Lange 1. Regards, Koen
You already know what I’m going to say I want one but it is either it or my university tuition🤔. Choices.... Wonderful video, beautiful watch and I can’t wait for the next video Best regards, Conner
Very different Rolex 🤔. I recently bought a grail of mine, the special edition Save the Ocean Seiko Turtle. I love the dial, and it's such a comfy watch. Hasn't come off my wrist since I bought it! Thank you for the video and good luck with the chase for your new grail my friend ⌚
I would like that you consider to review one of this two watches, available on watchbox: -H. MOSER & CIE ENDEAVOR PERPETUAL CALENDAR -VACHERON CONSTANTIN PERPETUAL CALENDAR 43031/000J-7965
100% agree with you on the Sky Dweller. It needs to be a smaller size in steel. I'm completely over 42+mm watches. For my 7.25" wrist 39-41mm seems to be the sweet spot.
I'll cast a vote for some more Urban Gentry content that isn't wristwatches. I really loved those vids, sometimes I go back to them. Great video here, I wasn't aware of this Rolex model and I fell in love with it! Thank you! (Imagine if Rolex would make a Titanium one, like other sky dwellers i.e. aircraft...)
PS my vote of the watches to review would be the Corum Admirals Cup Chronograph. It may well be a little large and I'm not 100% sure I'm in love with it but it's so intriguing and refreshingly different looking!
It's an automatic watch. So it's going to stop at some point when you're not wearing it, unless you have it on a winder. You will still need to adjust the date during the year as the watch will stop. This feature is not a selling point to me. I like GMT master more. Good review!
You know that I would watch any review that you do! Wow, the weight of that thing! I don't think that my Fortis B42 weighs that much! Great video my friend. Cheers!
I would love to see the Seiko Presage SPB069 "Tsukimi". It is a beautiful watch with a enamelled dial, and most and foremost a Seiko :) Keep up with the fantastic work TGV. Greetings from Germany
the larger size is to allow more estate for GMT dial #to be readable without being cluster,as many watch with smaller dial .That is a smart move for Rolex . 14mm is nothing for many .
Well first of all, that was the best(easiest to understand) explanation of the functions of the watch that I've seen(or've heard). Completely puts to rest my confusion. Second, I wonder if a James Cameron style bracelet would do the trick to stabilizing all of that heft. And, I very much look forward to your review of the Mini-Turtle. It's an item that I'm definitely considering for purchase. As for a future review...How about something from VC?
This watch makes it clear why the blue version is so desired. While expensive the watch has the practical efficiency of a tool watch that made Rolex so popular to begin with. While I like the black the lack of lume really sets it back.
At first I didn’t like this watch but it’s grown on me. I prefer solid rose gold and steel with black or blue dial. The discontinued white gold/black dial is pretty nice as well. The problem is the price. There are a couple of watches for 45-50k I would pick first. Perhaps a blue or black dial rose 15400or.
Can you please do a review of the Orient fal00004b0? I just bought one and would recommend it to everyone with a small budget and an interest in dresswatches.
I’d love to see you review a Rolex Milgauss.
YESSSSSSSS!!!!
Thank you Eric, outstanding suggestion, such a cool watch.
Best regards,
TGV
The Urban Gentry I really want the Z-Blue one.
The Urban Gentry bourdains watch of choice of course
it is an awesome watch when you consider its reason for existence…..
@@theurbangentry Just make sure to get a Z-Blue!
“Too many watches, not enough time.” Lol that sounds like an unintentional pun too me. 😃
Genuinely interesting, I had no idea how a Sky Dweller functioned. I totally agree that a smaller, lighter version would be a top drawer timepiece.
The elegant styling and the bulky case just does not go together. Also, Damn! I enjoy being able to raise my left hand
Some others have commented on mistakes but just wanted to be clear on some factual errors here.
1. This is reference 326939 not 326938
Correct. Alloying steel with gold does not produce the best of both worlds, in fact it is quite the opposite. Depending on the ratio, you end up with weak steel or discolored gold.
It's sad TGV wasn't able to tell it was white gold
it would be funny to see You reviewing RICHARD MILLE RM 011, it's so different than other watches You reviewed
If TGV does a Richard Mille review, it would have to have Hugo's input as well!
a lot of people hate the way they look, myself included. so it would be nice to see what he has to say about one
Im a fan of RM and TGV. WIN WIN!
The RIchard Mille watches look like they were designed by Alice in Wonderland. The sky dweller looks like it caught a bad case of ring-worm.
The Sky Dweller is technically a marvellous beast. But I kinda doubt the water resistance. Because the bezel unlike diver bezels IS connected to the movement (I guess) so there has to be “only“ some rubber gasket sliding back and forth 🕵😅
Picked up the Blue and it fits my 7.25" wrist PERFECT!
The blue dial, steel sky-dweller is my grail
A Lange & Sohne Saxonia Thin 37mm is the grail watch for you, me, and everybody!
I prefer a 44mm, fits absolutely perfect for me, everyone is different. Changing down to a 39mm feels awkward.
Great channel.
My vote for a watch you should investigate and review is the Omega Aqua Terra 150m GMT Worldtimer that Watchbox currently has. This is reference 220.93.43.22.99.001. I'd be curious to see how it compares to the Patek World Time 5131J you checked out!
My vote is for a review of an A. Lange & Sohne watch. I didn't have a particular model in mind, maybe the Langematic Perpetual. Cheers!
Absolutely love the quality of your videos.
Would love to see you do a series on compressor watches, like:
- IWC Vintage Aquatimer Ref. IW323101
- Maurice Lacroix Pontos S Diver
- (a comeback to) Longines Legend Diver Compressor
Maybe there are some really good compressors we've missed ? It's such an interesting diver lineage, overshadowed by the usual Rolex-type-divers. Would love to see you compare a few watches one-to-one in a longer video.
Thanks for all the great content, TGV !

I would love to see you do a proper review of the old bond seamaster, either 2531.80 or 2541.80
My favourite colour combination I've seen, beautiful but not loud!
I fell for the white gold with blue dial... It was gorgeous
Have you reviewed the Sky Dweller since the refreshed models
This dude makes SUCH NICE HARMFULL videos. Nice classic music. Nice Studio (room). He has a good taste for everything. Very nice to watch especially on a beautifull sunday with a Special Belgium Beer in my hand.
I started wearing those sweater polo shirts because of you. Figured you should know.
You classy dapper thing!
Thank you Phil for sharing that, I love it.
Enjoy the polo's my friend, I am honored.
Best regards,
TGV
If you go with the white face version of sky dweller, or any other face that has hashes instead of numbers, you get luminescence on the hours. Perfectly fine in the dark.
I just got back into your videos, forgot how good this channel is!!
after so many years and other watches purchasing and selling i finally got my sky dweller in blue, all i can say is what a beautiful watch..... except the size, for my 17mm wrist, abit too big, also the thickness, almost scratched it because didn't get used to the size of the watch, but trust me guys. worth it absolutely

Great review!....I think they made it wider to make the proportions more consistent with the required thicker height (due to the complicated movement)
I would love to see a video all about the bond watches in order of film. The bond films from a child are why I love watches and also why I scuba dive, as you are a movie fan this would be great to see, all the best Keith.
I love the blue dial skydweller!
36mm, no numerals, no cyclops. 👍
I vote for the Tag Heuer Monaco "Steve McQueen"!
Saw my first Watchbox TV commercial here in NY/NJ area. It was maybe, a 15 second spot. Nicely done ! it's the first time I ever wished a tv commercial was longer. I half expected to see you pop on the screen or maybe handle the narration duties.
I think a review of the JLC Master Compressor would be fun! I like that watch. Great job as always TGV!
I have one and love it. Goes great on my manly 7.25” wrist. I only wish it had a day of the week function.
I would like you to look at the tasteful use of Diamonds...when they work and when they look Ghastly.. lol
All that complexity in a movement and yet it’s managed or controlled with one single crown. This is ingenious. Love the blue dial however.
It's funny how even a supposed "failure" is so highly sought after. It cracks me up when you discuss sizing and bemoan the "larger is better" trend as my wrist is 8.75" in the winter, almost 9.0" in the summer. Bro you the behemoth if you got 9.0” wrists😂cant say im not jelous thou
Love the video if I had the money I would buy a sky-dweller
Hello! Great review! I’d love it if You reviewed the Longines Conquest. Can it rival the Rolex Explorer? Or does it just pretend to?
Tris, I respectfully disagree. I have a medium/large wrist and find that it fits very well. deffo noting your nomination down. Nice one indeed.

How I wish it would come without the cyclops! Other than that I like the new sky-dweller. I love the month indicator in red!
I have to say, I agree too. Very easy to remove though,
Thank you Paco, great to hear from you.

Really enjoy your honesty TGV, great looking watch. Your next grail watch is Blancpain Leman Moon Phase😊👍
Hey TGV please review the new g shock GA-2100. It's the only other G shock that fits smaller wrists without looking crazy!
Love you videos.
Could you please review Ball Engineer III Bronze Marvelight or other Ball watches.
Many thanks!
I'd absolutely love a blue dial Skydweller! Definitely my grail watch
I would love to know what's your opinion on the new Citizen cal.0100 :) Do you think the price is justified ? Is it worth it?
Breguet classique with the world on the dial. Looks pure class.
Also I’d love for your thoughts on Timex new releases with the automatics and an American made watch for us who can’t afford a $10k watch.
I don't see too much IWC on this channel, so how about the IWC DaVinci Perpetual Calendar? Looks pretty classy to my eyes, and that's saying something, given that I'm not the biggest fan of gold.
I would love to see you review an A. Lange & Söhne Datograph, it is a watch that I would love to own, but don't think I ever will.
Please review a Longines Conquest Heritage. What is, what I think, the best dress piece for around 1000 bucks. I know, it is not a grail piece, but it is a nice addition to your collection.
Btw, the 35mm version.
I like the sky dweller. Maybe my next rolex... 😅 but in steel with white dial
FYI, you will love that dial, it's a opalescent white and will view when you tilt it and the compare it to the gmt ring. A nice surprise indeed!😅
i have been looking for a sky-dwelleer homage, but couldnt find any that as close as the og rolex itself. with its price tag and too many thefts around on trips, rolex isnt a good option for travelling at all
Perfect video to look at during my night shift brake. I can't say I dislike the Sky-Dweller. However, I think you're right about the strange vibe that surrounds this watch...
Please review the Bulgari Octo Finissimo or the A. Lange & Sohne Lange 1.
Regards,
Koen
You already know what I’m going to say
I want one but it is either it or my university tuition🤔. Choices....
Wonderful video, beautiful watch and I can’t wait for the next video
Best regards,
Conner
Snag one after college and you have a nice income. 😂
I just picked one of those up also; the Great White edition. Totally agree that it’s supremely comfortable and a really nice piece.
I watch a ton of RUclips, and your videos are on point. The time and effort is clearly reflected. Very well done! Keep up the good work sir..
I would like that you consider to review one of this two watches, available on watchbox: -H. MOSER & CIE ENDEAVOR PERPETUAL CALENDAR
-VACHERON CONSTANTIN PERPETUAL CALENDAR 43031/000J-7965
That movement is so cool.
MINI TURTLE
you should take a look into the new Casio G-Shock GA-2100 😉
Sky dweller best Rolex watch 😍
PP Nautilus annual calendar addresses most of these drawbacks, but of course is double the price...
I would like to see IWC big pilot review(for larger wrist guys)
I agree with every morsel of this review... very well articulated.... on every classy, salient point.
Outstanding nomination,
Thank you Chris, note it down!
Best regards,
TGV
It's an automatic watch. So it's going to stop at some point when you're not wearing it, unless you have it on a winder. You will still need to adjust the date during the year as the watch will stop. This feature is not a selling point to me. I like GMT master more.
Good review!
Always look forward to the Governor's video! Simply the best.
You know that I would watch any review that you do! Wow, the weight of that thing! I don't think that my Fortis B42 weighs that much! Great video my friend. Cheers!
Thank you JC, very kind fratello!
WOW, even heavier than your Cosmonaut, that is CRAZY!!!!!
Best regards,
TGV
@@theurbangentry probably why they didn't use more lume; the watch was heavy enough!
Nice to see the caliber over 9000!
Was looking at the two tone version of this watch but I just felt it was too big.
I would love to see the Seiko Presage SPB069 "Tsukimi". It is a beautiful watch with a enamelled dial, and most and foremost a Seiko :)
Keep up with the fantastic work TGV.
I agree. I love the Skydweller for the movement, the design, but I hate it for being so pricey, and bigger than I care size.
I’d love to see you review a JLC or a François-Paul Journe !
