I've also caught big bull trout and brown trout on K-15's! You don't see many people pulling plugs in lakes that hold record fish and that's a good thing...it ups your odds tremendously. Once you find the thermolcline and put your plugs in that zone it's only a matter of time before a monster trout smacks your plug.
One of my favorite ways to fish for steelhead and salmon from a boat havent caught any fish tho on a plug since ive gotten stationed in washington id love to see some videos on fishing plugs from the bank
Down here in Cali it’s our preferred way of fishing for kings! We back troll them mostly or fish them on an anchor early in the morning to catch them coming out of the holes! You want to become a good plug fisherman you have to fish down here for salmon we are a plug republic down here!
Love a plug takedown 🎣🎣. Can’t go wrong with a double trouble, slammer, grinch, or a fickle pickle!! Of course wrapped and tuned with sardines or herring.
in 1991 I was fishing k14's anchored on the lower Willamette slue just up from the Columbia river, it was raining so i put up the top and we took a little knap. I woke up to see my rod pounding so i got up grabbed the pole and brought up a 14 lbs upriver bright fish and lost it right at the boat. I went into Larry's sport center and asked the guys what happened they said you need to sit on your hands for at least 10 seconds before you ever think about picking up the rod. A hard lesson to learn.
I haven't caught anything on a Quickfish plug. But back in the '70s, I stopped on the side of a river on my way to Seaside OR. And watched a guy in a boat fight a 65 lb. Chinook on a bright blue Quickfish plug.
I have caught more steel , #35 hotshot than anything else. Lol and yes, you want to tie people's hands to the seat, unless that rod tip is buried in the water, and line peeling, don't touch the rod! 😊🎣
Yes I do like fishing salmon plugs like kwikfish and flatfish and Hot Shots and wiggle warts now with these plugs and other plugs could you be able to run a single hook I split ring with a side wash hook would that be able to get less of a hang up on the bottom because I like to throw these plugs from the shore and retrieve them slowly
So you can run a single hook on the plugs okay and I think I am going to be probably going to a single hook on all my Wiggler's plugs thank you for the good information
@@shaunlehman9158 hey shaun, it's been a year but damn i sure hope you get this. i used to run a split ring twixt the siwash & the end of my vibrax for kings in alaska while wading. i did a bunch of lift/breakage tests to determine the perfect split ring that would break when i snagged so i could retrieve my lures & not decorate the river. it's been a few years, & i can't remember what size split ring i was running. our fish average tween 20-30 lbs. long fkn story short, do you know what size split ring you're running? thanks dude, i really appreciate this if you get notified & let me know. thanks in advance.
@@shaunlehman9158 dude, i can't tell you how much i appreciate this. i leave in a week so this will help a lot. like i say, we have 3 jetboats, skinny river, we usually just wade & cast vibrax in our favorite holes but...sometimes if we get a lot of rain it's a bitch & i've always wanted to try anchoring & throw out a quick fish. you're getting me pumped!
back when i used to chase trout and salmon i had good success with worden's flatfish . trick is size to speed. this lure style will roll if its too fast. also i got one the size of a small banana in my muskie box and it still hasn't produced. smh my plug collection is worth more than my boat.
I love your intro so much, by the way i live very close to your guys' Addicted Fishing Office building (im assuming thats what it is) in washington, fan collab? ? ? ? ?
Awesome video I live on lake Erie I know u nw guys get all weird about us calling them steelhead lol but we catch them on Brad plugs on our river awesome 👍👍👍 what do u think I could wrap on a kwikfish with here to increase strikes??? Love all the addicted fishing videos you guys are very talented we appreciate all the knowledge you share
I completely disagree with leaving the pole alone when a fish bites on a kwik fish. If you hold your pole and set the hook at the first strike 99+% I hook nearly everyone, but it takes holding your pole. Every fish will be hooked on the front hook( the meat hook) .I think only novice fisherman should leave the pole in pole holder. I learned this technique from an old guide . If you have a chance give it a try. I promise your hook up rate will increase. Much love everybody ❤️
ive used brads wigglers a lot. but it seems when I just leave them out the back of boat after awhile they end up just floating on top of water. Whats the reason for that?
First time plunking with a twitch and jig I used a silver jig that had polka dots on it nose and tell we're painted green and I cannot find for the life of me the same jig anywhere I've tried Bass Pro Cabela's just about every place I see tackle and haven't found that same jig again where in the hell can I find that magic twitcher
Ill say one secret, no matter how deep it is i will never run weight, just change size of quickfish! Time to get sturgeon rods out, and on that note everyone have a safe and merry Christmas. Tight lines
Who likes to fish plugs for salmon? 🙋♂️🙋♀️
Addicted Fishing 🙋♂️
Love plug fishing upper columbia in the fall. K15, kwik fish bacon wrapped with herring scent is money!!
Love running plugs but i like a glass rod for plugs the parabolic thump and the loading increase the hookups
I've caught a lot of fish on plugs! Mostly in tidewater for fish right out of the salt.
I've also caught big bull trout and brown trout on K-15's! You don't see many people pulling plugs in lakes that hold record fish and that's a good thing...it ups your odds tremendously. All these great tutorials, how bout next a tutorial on how to manage our steelhead fisheries and forward it to odfw.
You guys covered everything but one of the most important elements to plug fishing: properly tuning the plug.
how you do that
Going to pull some plugs on the Rogue River this morning. Definitely my favorite way of fishing out of a boat .
Trying plugs for first time. Thanks for the info!
Merry Christmas 🎄 To all of the Addicts out there!! Hope everyone has a awesome holiday

Hey Jordan you should throw a tutorial on divers and bait as well. They have their place! Great job guys. Ho ho ho!

Used to fish with Tyler on the yallup solid dude! Nice video 👌
I just landed a 8ish pound coho today on a chrome and chartreuse rattler Brad’s wiggler. Casting and retrieving off the bank! #imaADX
Once you get a piece of dog hair on the bait, that's what starts the bite, love it!
Back in the day. Hanford Reach , many huge Chinook on Wiggle Warts plugs.

My last summer steelhead on the North Santiam was from the bank working a purple tadpolly in a nice run.
I love plugs for just about everything!!!

Caught many nice fish in plugs 🐟
Great video as always!
I use wiggle warts and rattletraps.i have done surprisingly well with those
They work great!

I’m so ready for some steelhead
Do you have to use weights and can you just cast and reel in these from the shore or?
That was a great lesson! Thank you.

Maybe wrap some cheese or brats for those big midwest bruisers!
Love your tutorials, absolutely the best. They are fun and inspiring. You guys did a lot of coho, any chance you will do some videos on chum salmon?
Damm that cameron roast at 5:10
How about bank fishing?
Kirby Ferber We will have some bank fishing plug tips soon!
@@AddictedFishing I'm really looking forward to the bank fishing vids.
@@AddictedFishing Please do the bank fishing soon. Not all have a boat but most can get to the bank. How about the on Upper Rouge ?
Very informative
Wrapping eggs works well also, call it steak and eggs.
I tried that once. I made a hell of a mess popping eggs all over myself. Now I just soak my wraps, or tuna, in egg juice before wrapping them.
One of the biggest fish I’ve ever caught is on a plug... and you can’t beat a plug takedown!
Great tutorial, i have these plugs float to surface when I troll them. Thanks for the tips

What brand rod holders do you guys have in your boats? I see the just open when you give them a good yank
How much line do you typically let out? 20 to 30ft?
What type of Rod holders are you using ? I fish for Kings every year and all my fish are on plugs .
This the video been wanting to see / except like see how from the bank ?
What's Tyler's guide service called?? Thx bro another great video of information on pluggen👍🎣🎣
Joe Bass waters west guide service
@@jpbullys420 thx brother, 👍

Can i use plugs in drift fishing in a river?
Who do I contact for a fishing guide for steelhead?
Can you use plugs from shore?

Have to tune the plugs with pliers
We use alot of plugs for steelhead and salmon. You cant beat a plug takedown.

Where can I buy your addicted steelhead worms? Are they out in stores like sportsman’s or anything or do I have to buy them on your website? Thanks

How can one get ahold of Tyler?
I have caught lots of fish in that spot I live on that river
Maglips all day long for Salmon and Steelhead!!!
I see the Anchor Line!!!!!!.
Hell yeah
i catch them on mag lip's all the time they are steelhead killers
Why can’t u just put anchor down and let them work? Or will it not be enough action?
What lake or Creek / River is that bro.
They never give river names bro!
O I just can't find good fishing spots
so how about a tutorial on rowing a drift boat in streams and rapids ?? thats a part of fishing is it not????
Set anchor... why constantly row....

Caught a majority of my fish on plugs
Double trouble.... caught my first salmon on a K16 double trouble
Never fished with it.
first?
🙌
Cought thousand of salmon and steelhead in that hole.
Tyler must’ve been sor after that much boat pedaling
Honestly I don’t know how these guys use such thick line for salmon and steelys. Fuck I use 10-20 pound max and I rearly break
Besides that though love the vids, great tips
Those are flat fish...not plugs
That’s not a clevis
Just puttin in work and not even fishin
