What techniques do you use throughout a float? When and where do you decide to anchor up or pull onto the bank to fish? How is the boat best set up with gear?
    Thanks again for doing all you do for the fishing community!

    low cloud deck to help fish get out of cover. big rains melts on rivers with no dams. just keep going up river much like the fish are doing till u find water thats not chaotic. than move with those conditions downriver and you will stay with the bite. I like small rivers creeks. accuracy when casting spinners is important. walk into the current and cast up and reel with current is good method in small systems. fish whats in front of you. big isn't always in deepest farthest hole he could be on straightaway on the shallow side underneath undercut bank ready to tear apart anything that comes down that section.

    NA use 20 braid and when your line starts sinking put paraffin wax on the line. Use the small Storm candles I Carry them. Just warm it and swipe your line with it and your off again water proof and floats. Do about ten feet of it and begin casting again. Wax from the bobber up line about ten feet.

    Repeated content is good. It shows what still works. Also a good reminder of things to consider when going out on the water. For example the quick google search you mentioned in this video. I did that search again and saw the same WDFW page that I have seen before. But this was a good reminder. Go where the fish are! Unfortunately, that does not always mean what is closest to me. Thanks for the advice.

    • @NathanCampbellGuitarist

      As a follow up, I recently went to one of the locations listed on the WDFW site that shows fish "should be returning in 2024". I got a nice fish out of there :-) I enjoy going there but it is a trek to get there and it is not close to home.

    Go fish the lower skagit river and tell use what to use for bank and boat fishing, and then transition to lake Shannon and baker lake. Show in detail on all three bodys of water what to fish for in those places the gear you would use, then work your way up to other nw rivers for salmon and trout fishing. Get into detail about rod and reel, bait, line. Then go fish out in skagit bay then work north to Padilla Bay ending in Bellingham Bay. Kinda just exploring all of what skagit County and whatcom County has to offer and then work your way to different county's throughout washington, Oregon, and Idaho.

    I always get lost here. When you rigged up - WTH? Set up #1- Is the bobber on the 6 foot leader? Then do you go down to weights then down to hook? Setup #- Is the bobber on the Braid and then weights on connection between braid and leader. Ahhhh! It seems like this info is ALWAY missed. It would be great if you drew a little picture of the rig set up. You can refer to it when you give a tutorial so you don't miss a part and then show the rig pic in the end. Thanks you guys are the best program on the Interwebs! Cheers!

    I have not watched the video yet..but will say the 3 mistakes are: 1) not learning how to read water. 2). Not paying attention to the weather and river conditions 3) Relying on the internet (RUclips, etc) on how to catch a steelhead.
    Find a friend and/or mentor, get off your ass, and get out and go fish. You fish for steelhead long enough, you'll eventually learn 1). How to read water so you know exactly where a fish is going to be or not be and why, 2). You'll check the weather to make sure that the river you're fishing isn't either shot, about to be shot, or a front has come in on you and screwed up your day on the water, and 3) You won't be reading my comments and instead are actually on a river putting your time in on the water.

    Fishing out of a drift boat on the river tutorial

  • @Clacka89
    @Clacka89 Месяц назад

    Hey bro would you guys do us all a huge favor and make an etiquette video? Maybe do a short one for sleds, drift boats, and bank fishing? I’ve seen fishing blow up these past couple years with a buncha younger guys and I love to see that, much rather see them fishing than chasin drugs but things have gotten a little out of hand. If your fishing a football field away from me and I catch a fish and while I’m tagging the fish two feet away from the water and spot I just caught this fish this guys grabs up his stuff and almost runs all the way up the bank and steps in right in front of me and makes a cast. I asked what the hell and he told me it’s a public river! After very calmly explaining 😂😂😂 that’s not how this works he left very quickly, But just the level of stupidity and disrespect not just that guy but guys I see all the time show not just me but other people that see as well. I’m not trying be a Karen, people will do what they do, but you guys have influence especially with these younger kids, use it for good! I love your channel man I’ve been watching for years, you guys have helped me improve my catch ratios regularly, you guys rock. Thanks for reading this or not, figured it was worth a shot! Tight lines
