Amazing details, thank you! I would love to replace the plain black steering in the s-type R with a graceful real jaguar style wooden one. Don't know why they chose the worst wood colors and plain seats for type R
Thak you sooooooooooooooooooooo very much!!!
very well explained video Mister!
thank you!!!
Hey Ivan - good to here that you liked the video and found it useful.

@@jaaagtv Thank you sir! you save me 700$. I did it! and I did it just fine!
@@ivanjerez2417 Excellent - well done!
Good show, m8.
Hi there, I have a 2001 S-type (pre face-lift). The cruise control buttons and some of the radio control buttons on the steering wheel don't work anymore. What is the most likely cause? I'm thinking it's the clock spring.
Hi - does sound most likely although you should check fuses that supply a feed to the Electronics Module/s.
Hi when placing the horn frame assy back on should there be a spring/bounce so not to tighten screws to much.
Hi Colin, Yes the horn frame should be able to move under spring tension when fitted. If memory serves - each of the frame retaining screws are "shouldered" so you shouldn't be able to over tighten them. Hope this has helped.
Is this the same method required in removing the steering wheel when replacing the airbag harness that appears to be the route cause of airbag fault dash light coming on....yet to source a new lead ...
Hi
Yes same method - although the "clock spring" rotary cable/harness in our video was not disturbed.
Cheers

Thanks.
I have a slight constant squeak as I turn my steering wheel on my 2003 S type. It's definitely coming from somewhere behind the steering wheel and it sounds as if something rubbing against a rubber of some sort. Any clues maybe?
Hi - The squeak you are experiencing is almost certainly coming from the power steering rack. You can obtain a Jaguar approved 'Anti-Squeak' additive from SNG Barratt (link below). I've also added a link to the Jag Technical Service Bulletin showing how to add the fluid. We did a video a while back when we added this fluid to our X Type (link below). After applying the fluid be patient as it can take several days to become effective. (Took three weeks on my 2005 S type). Hope this has helped.

@@jaaagtv Will definitely check that out, thank you for the quick reply!
Hi, how do you reset the windows after replacing the Steering wheel please.
Hi Colin - For each window: -
Raise window to fully closed position and keep button depressed for 3 seconds and then release.
Hello my friend, I have a question I have the s type 2000 could I replace the steering wheel with the knewer like yours you took out that has the jag logo. Thanks
Hi - we haven't tried this. I think you may have problems with - 1) cowling - 2) Air bag - 3) Length and fit of splined column shaft. Best thing to do is try and borrow one and try it. Be very careful when handling the Air Bag. Let us know how you get on. Good luck
Jag TV Hi, Thanks! I’ll get back to you as soon I get into it, Cheers
Al j - I’d like to know if it fits too
I have to ask- is the shifter knob on the car OEM? It looks outstanding. Where can I get one?
Hi Nikolai,
You can find these on Ebay.co.uk. I have listed three that are available right now.

They are really good quality and look excellent.
Thanks for watching.

Thank you. They do look really nice. Keep up the good work.
One more question- will these fit a 2006 S type? And also is it difficult to replace the knob?
Hi Nikolai,
The gear knob is very straightforward to fit but care needs to be taken not to damage the chrome finish on the gear leaver and locking collar. See attached image for info.

Best of luck
Yes - will fit 2006MY S Type
I like the gear knob, where was that from?
The gear knob was from an Ebay seller and can be found currently at www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JAGUAR-XJ-XK-S-TYPE-X350-X250-X351-X202-X308-MORE-GEAR-KNOB-GREY-LEATHER/162775735241?hash=item25e6309bc9:g:awQAAOSw3ydViHYX
Superb, have ordered one. Thanks!
Hi, back again do you know what screws hold the steering column cover so that you can get to the screws that hold the back of the to the air bag retaining screws please, as for the life of cannot work out what they are. thanks.
Hi Colin, You shouldn't need to remove the column cowling cover. Just rotate the steering wheel in order to access the steering wheel rear cowling screws. Make sure you realign the wheel centrally before removing the wheel. Hope this helps.
@@jaaagtv Hi thanks for the info, got another issue now, that is the two bolts holding the airbag in place are you sure it is a T30 bit to remove them as I am having a mare to take the airbag cover off
@@jaaagtv The only thing I can think of if the bit holder is not thin enough to reach the screw
@@colinburns2878 Hi Colin - I have just double checked with my spare steering wheel - it's definitely a T30 Torx. I used a double ended L shaped Torx Key. Is perhaps the Torx bit you are using to large a diameter (i.e. the body) to fit in the plastic cowling. The screws are actually slightly offset from the access holes so that might be causing you an issue.
@@jaaagtv Hi, all good now thanks to your advice, however I do have another issue, after replacing my steering wheel I decided to replace my battery with one I ordered about 4 months ago, after replacing it I started the car and it threw up all sorts of warnings, ABS fault, gearbox fault, DSC not available also yellow engine light, after running the car at stationary and revving it to 2000rpm some disappeared, then after turning the car off and on several times the yellow engine light went out too, I then went out to the car about 5 hours later and it started doing the same, the battery light on the actual battery is showing a green which indicates its ok. but still getting these issues, any ideas?
