    Having seen these videos of yours it turns out clearly the love for the brand as well as the precision. A little hint: if the video is about noises don't play rockmusic as soundtrack meanwhile. Neither the speach nor the noise itself can't be heard properly. However it's a pro job! Thanks for sharing! Cheers :)

      Your comments are noted and thank you for watching. We hope to be releasing some more videos when we have set up in a new and larger workshop. Probably early next year though.

    I'll try this fix for my squeaking steering wheel. Now I have issue with the ignition getting stuck or hard to turn the key to turn the engine on. Can I do DIY in replacing the ignition or do I need to bring it to the dealer for programming the key? My full spare key does not start the engine.

    What type of squeaking / creaking were you trying to address?
    Steering column area? Under the bonnet / hood? Power steering belt squeal? Might have been an idea to highlight the specific issue / noise first before showing a resolution. Because of the bizarre use of rock music in the background anyone listening cannot hear what was there in the first instance nor it’s absence after the fix? 🥴

    As I prepared to fix my squeaky wheel, I noticed by the tag that the process has already been completed in the past by some else. The recommendation is to only complete the process once. Has anyone over a certain time frame had to do it twice with success and with no bad implications? Thanks

    • @jaaagtv
      @jaaagtv  6 лет назад

      Yes the process should only be performed once. However I was able to do mine a second time (because the first attempt didn't cure the squeak) after first flushing and renewing the power steering fluid. In some cases the squeak disappears quite quickly - mine took several weeks.

    Have a 2004 STR that has a very slight squeak that sounds like it's coming from the steering wheel. Bought the fluid, followed the TSB's instructions to a T -- and the squeak is still there. Wondering what I should do at this point. Thanks.

      Hi Michael,
      You may just have to be patient. It took mine (2005MY S Type) several weeks before it improved and even then it returned every so often when it was really cold. The squeak did eventually go away and my steering is now silent.

    Interesting video... I got a similar situation... though im having trouble knowing if its from the steering rack, the brake pads, transmission or CV joints.... Yeah it is that complicated. Heres what ive figured until now, it only happens when im turning and driving, i hear it on both sides, it has happen once or twice when pressing the clutch and turning and ive tried some accelerating and then hard braking and it has stopped... but it happens again. Unfortunately theres no one in my area that i trust that fixes these and im trying to figure out the situation. Cheers.

      Hi,
      Is the noise you are experiencing a squeak or creaking sound?
      Does it only make that noise when you steer left or right?
      Does it make that noise when you are braking in a straight line?
      Does it make that noise when you accelarate hard going fowards in a straight line?
      The CV joints normally make a crackling sound when they are worn.
      The brakes normally make a high pitched screech if the noise is from the pads/discs.

      @@jaaagtv Hi there and thanks for the quick response.
      1st: You put me on a spot here, could you exemplify with similar things that might make those sounds?
      2nd: Ive noticed it happens when i turn to both sides, sometimes after ive done a full turn of the steering wheel and other times when i start turning.
      3rd and 4th: it doesnt make noise when i do either of those no.
      It only happens when im doing city drive going around turns (either left or right) and when with my foot on the throttle doing an average inner city speed (30-40km/h).

      @@datsnoiper Hi - the squeak/creak sound is similar to the sound a domestic steel or brass door hinge makes when it needs lubricating.
      From your explanation and response to 2 to 4 it sounds like the culprit is the steering rack. I suggest you apply the anti-squeak additive to the power steering reservior as we show in our video. I have added a link to the Jaguar TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) for the procedure. After adding the ant-squeak fluid it can take up to a couple of weeks to become effective depending on how much you drive the car. Hope this helps.

    The existing atf fluid looked black. I would have changed the atf in that car first take the low pressure hose off the rack or drain from the low pressure side of the res. Then put new atf in. Seems to be masking a lack of proper atf lubrication by adding something else.

      The fluid is called Jaguar Power Steering Additive Fluid - C2S48887 and any Jaguar main dealer will stock it. I have found that wherever you buy it the price is pretty much the same.

      Jag TV so I bought the PAS fluid C2S48847 and did this exactly on my 05 S-Type, but that didn't fix the squeaking. Also the jaguar reseller told me they made this PAS flux specifically for X-Type. Any other way I can fix this annoying issue? Also it only squeaks turning to the right

    • @jaaagtv
      @jaaagtv  7 лет назад +1

      Hi David,
      I had this irritating squeak on my S Type 2005MY and after applying the C2S48887 fluid it took several weeks before it started to reduce and then go away altogether. Like your car mine only squeaked when I Turned right.
      I have included a Jaguar Technical Service Bulletin for this issue and it clearly states that it is suitable for both X Types and S Types within the VIN ranges stated. So have a good read as it covers the fix in more detail than our video.
      So give it a bit of time and see how it progresses.

      Hi Nathan, The additive will work if the correct TSB procedure from Jaguar is followed. We have had success on our three S Types and of course the X Type. Sometimes the squeak would disappear within a few days. A couple of the S Types took a few weeks for the squeak to go - but in all cases the additive did fix it. Like you we were disappointed when we first tried the additive as we expected an instant fix. Hope this has helped.
