He's just likable. He's that friend that gets all the attention in the room wherever he goes. Had a friend like that. Sadly he passed, but he was just like Matt. Bigger than life.
So sorry to hear about your friend. But you're right about Matt. He is definitely fun to be around, and brings joy to almost any situation. You can watch more of him at our sister channel, It's a Southern Thing. Thank you for watching.
Matt is the best food critic going, hands down!
We agree!
Can we please send Matt around to other states to judge their fast food items?! please!@?

@@longiniusspear4565 For real, Tennessee is just a couple hours from B-ham.
The list is spot on!
i’m from california but i feel like this is information i should know
You should!
This is crucial life or death information. Also watch his video on biscuits
The way taxes are in California nowadays, the deep south may be calling ya ! It may be a sign.
Taxes are lower than 30 other states but ok.
Glad to provide important fast food information to our friends on the west coast!
I live in England and started watching these films when I couldn't sleep but now they are one of the first things I look for, really good fun.
Get that 💉 so you can travel and don’t have to quarantine, pack your suitcase for at least a month and grab that passport, board that flight(not a boat or ship because Titanic ya know...), cross the pond and come on down here to Alabama and we’ll have a damn good time! Just holler at me when you get here buddy, I’ll have the yeti full of ice cold Bud and bud light(just in case you’re counting calories and watching your figure) and a big ol’ bottle of Sailor Jerry waiting on ya!!!
@@mikehancho695already had my first dose of vaccine so I might just pop over after my second dose so thanks for the invite!
My mother used to work for Jack's and I miss the food! I also miss the old men gathered around the table drinking coffee and talking politics.
As a Foosackly’s employee this makes me happy you included it!!!
I am angry he didn’t put it first
You can't fake the Foo! I moved from South Alabama to North Alabama a few years ago. There are two restaurants there I miss terribly. Foosackly's and Semmes House of Pizza. I have never found another chicken finger I liked. I ordered mine with ranch and buffalo sauce on the side. Yum yum! Wish Foosactly's would expand. I'd definitely drive to Huntsville for that chicken goodness.
I live in Northwest Tennessee and Milo's tea is everywhere. I didn't know they were a prominent fast food joint.
Yes, only in central AL
Yeah I love Milos, ab to go in a few hours for breakfast lmao their burgers are amazing tho fr
@@ramboxlegacy14 They've moved north some now. They opened up a place in Decatur, Alabama a few years back.
Mr MIlo was a WW 2 veteran who was a cook in the Army he invented a special sauce that he put on food and hamburgers for troops in the war. He later opened a hamburger place in Birmingham that had this special sauce on their hamburgers .I used to go to the first MIlos restaurant back in the 1980s His story was on the wall there
Milo's tea and lemonade are garbage! Of course, I've never been to an actual milo's and it could be way better.
the guy that started taco casa had originally been with taco bell and left them to start taco casa when they started changing their recipes.
I ate at Milo's once 8 years ago while delivering coils somewhere outside of Mobile. It was delicious. That sauce and the seasoning sets them apart.
I legit thought that Milos only sold sweet tea. We don't have the restaurants up here in TN but you can find their bottled sweet tea at Dollar General and man is it good.
All the Milos locations are in and around Birmingham and Bessemer, last I knew.
@@squiresam They're in Cullman and Decatur now as well.
They’re in Shelby county as well
Sylacauga also
Maybe I should visit Alabama one of these days!
Come see us! We'd love to have you! Thanks for watching, Sophia!

hopefully you get a chance to if you already haven’t, I know I’m a little late commenting lol... I’ve visited/lived in over half of the USA and just my opinion(based on the places I’ve physically been to), I’d have to say it’s definitely in my “top 5” list of states to visit or live in...
I keep hoping foosakslys will make it here, they are so much better than Zaxby's! It's worth going to Alabama alone 😂
The Conecuh sausage puts Milos over the top with Alabamaness.
I'm glad you included Foosackly's because none of those others is available in the Southwest Alabama area.
we have foosacklys in auburn al
They recently put a location or 2 in Auburn but they are everywhere in Mobile since they started here
I was born in raised in Bama. Live in Texas now. I sure miss Milo's and Jack's. At least I can get the Milo's tea here :)
I’m from mobile and foosackleys is the best!!! I go to college in Birmingham and miss it on a daily basis!!!
You aren't the only one who misses it, Julia! Thanks for watching!
I go to college in bham too! My best friend works at one of the foosackley's in mobile so I get to hear all about it
I live in mobile!
UAB?
I live in bham/Auburn
That burger from Taco Casa sounds like the Bell Burger that Taco Bell used to serve in the 1970's.
If you have a Del Taco near you, you can order off the secret menu a Bun Taco (taco burger). They are delicious!
Video didn’t even start and I subbed just because I’m Alabamian
Hell yea.
Matt, you are so much fun! I worked at Taco Casa for several years; it is still my favorite Mexy fast food; so much so that even living in Georgia I make it over to the Homewood store every time I visit my dad! What you had was Beefy Nachos, but I think you might have like the Messe Nachos more. Yes, you do get them wrapped up like party leavings, but they are made with the Casa's own recipe chili and cheese (optional jalapenos) and mmmmmm, so tasty. The burritos (beef or beef and bean; none of that rice-on-a-burrito mess) and sanchos (beef with lettuce; wayyy better than it sounds) are also strong contenders. One of the greatest things about the Casa was the ownership, because they made you feel like part of their family. Thank you for including it in your countdown!
Messe nachos are many times better than beefy nachos! I LOVE the messe nachos.
Ohhh! Hey Cassie! Great minds. Read your comment before I saw your name. :)
@@bethinbama LOL that's too funny. Can't give up my Casa for anything! :-D I love this channel by the way!
Casandra Perry I know! You, Daniel, and Carrie always have to get some Taco Casa. Thirty years of Taco Casa in my memory and I still try to eat there as often as I’m able. I’ve been there in the last week I believe.
Nothing better! Miss seeing you, lady. Pass along my hello to your mom & dad 😺
Your rankings are spot on!
Im actually in love with this man
Kayla Boyle he’s married...
Just moved from Mobile to Madison and the ONLY thing I miss is Foosackly's.
John Trussell Madison al represent
Go to Guthrie’s
You don’t miss fresh seafood? Lol
God it is the first place I hit when I visit my brother in mobile lol
Been raised on southern food and manners even though I’m from MI. My sis and family from the south near mobile. Got some new places to eat next time I’m down there. Can’t wait to go back now. Thanks for these vids.gotta binge watch now
Dude you need to come to Tuscaloosa and eat taco casa more often. They’re number 1 hands down , without real competition. They have freaking chili on the menu and taco burger is a life changer. Their sweet tea is on par with milos
All of these look delicious but I'm totally mesmerised that there are drive-thru barbecue joints you felt a need to exclude. Alabama has just jumped up several places on the list of locations I need to visit.
Next time you're in Alabama, you'll have to hit up Dreamland (though none of the new corporate ones compare to the original Tuscaloosa hole in the wall location), Full Moon, or Jim 'N Nick's.
Guthrie’s is a beautiful thing.. one just opened up in Tampa a couple months ago and I have been addicted to them tenders.
When I was driving from New Orleans back to Jacksonville we stopped at Foosacklys (don't know if I spelt that right) and it was delicious! Much better than Zaxby's. Wish we had them here. So many different sauces! (We tried them all lol)
I'm so glad to see some Milos love. I moved to Missouri a few years back and Milos is on the top of my cravings list. I wish I could figure out how to make that sauce!
If you figure out how to make it, please let us know! We're very near a Milo's but it would be great to make at home!
Taco casa is number #1 hands down there the best in Tuscaloosa Yee haw 🤠
Tuscaloosa is my hometown, but I live in Georgia now. A trip to Taco Casa for my extra hot beef burrito with extra beef and sour cream and a chimalupa is one of my first stops when I go home.
❤️
Jacks is my favorite fast food place in the world!!!!!!! Milo's has the best sweet tea!!!!!!
You got me hooked! You are the best food critic in all of U the tube”I like Alton Brown as well”. Thanks for sharing 🍺🥓🍩🍺cheers👍🏼
Matt, I'm with you on the Milo's sauce. I always have to order extra, especially for my fries. 👍
Him: You don't really ever have a bad experience at jacks.
Me: you do if you work there!!!
Edit; Also the seasoning on the fires is seriously popcorn salt. Like those orange milk carton things of popcorn salt where the salt is as bright as the box....yeah that kind of popcorn salt. So if you want Jacks fries at home get you some popcorn salt.
Around here in ALABAMA we eat chicken! TacoBell , McDonald’s, Burger King, KFC, Arby’s, Publix and Walmart chicken too. We love our fast food! Keep your fancy, healthy diverse tasting food. We love our Jack’s and Chicken filay and that’s it! Everyday bubba. Real Chicken boys in the house. 2-3 meals a day, fast food chicken!!! That’s the Bama lifestyle😎
I’m from NY, and have never been to any of these restaurants, but I’ll watch any Bless Your Rank. Matt, you make me want to move to Alabama!
Milo's is my favorite lemonade although I've never been to Alabama
Oh yeah the moment i saw Milo's pop up, i knew the competition was over.
I got a Jack's in my town, and it is consistently good. Some of these places need more locations.
Milo's can't be matched. I lived in B'ham for five years, and Milo's was the only burger place I went. And don't forget their peach pie! I can buy Milo's sweet tea here in Indiana - but I surely miss that burger-and-a-half, sauce (it was still sloppy when I was there), pickles and fresh onions AND those seasoned crinkle fries. YUM!
We love Milo's too, PBK K!
Hamburger heaven is pretty darn good too....but I love Jack's hamburgers
could you describe the sauce please it looks like BBQ sauce
I agree with everything he said
LOL! Matt Mitchell speaks truth! Thanks for watching, Matt!
I'm born from California but I have relatives in Alabama so every time I get a chance to visit my relatives I get to check these places and like you Matt I love Milo's.
I love a Milo's cheeseburger(no pickles), but those Milo"s chicken tenders are game changing! Alwats get the Double O sauce for dipping, and grab an extra packet of fry seasoning (for later use at other establishments that don't know how to season their fries).
Leanne205 don’t forget the boom boom sauce
Milo’s is nasty af. That sauce is trifling. It tastes like dirt 🤢😂
No pickles on a burger is a sin
Amen!
Milo's is nothing more than a sack full of nastiness!!
Iam Canadian, and I love Matt, funny, honest, love how his ismumms.
I used to drive from Norcross, GA to Sylacauga, AL to hear the gospel... the chicken biscuits at Jacks were unreal and gave me another thing to look forward to from a 175mi drive.
Hey Matt! How did I not know that you have this channel? I'm happy to find you here.
Well as a Texan and I live in the town that Taco Bueno started in. In the last few years my family has been going to Taco Casa because they have been consistent with the taste and portion size. And they love to put a whole lot of cheese on the tacos, burrito, and tostada. Of the fast food places you ranked Taco Casa is the only one I have eaten at.
Milo's is the one place I go to every time I drive through Alabama. So yummy. Love their fries. Also, Taco Casa's bean & cheese burritos are everything.
By God...finding Bless Your Rank here has indeed been a blessing...also watching this from my snow covered house in New York made me realize y'alls local fast food kicks everything I got up here. It's not a thing here. But we do have the best grocery store in the U.S., Wegmans!
Taco Casa rules. In college I’d tell people my blood type is extra hot.
YESS! When watching the "Bless Your Rank" fast food burger episode, I wished for Milo's to be eligible. Thank you, Matt!
I got soooooooo happy when he pulled out the Foosackly's, I live in Mobile and its definitely one of my favorite places to eat.
Love Foosackleys too!!
Used to live in Mobile, and that is one restaurant I definitely miss!
I’m in Montgomery and I miss Guthrie’s more than anything! We lost all of ours!
we did as well on the gulf
why?
Jack's fries with their ranch and comeback sauce is Life!
I am from North Alabama born and raised in a little town called Hartselle and I approve this video, 356 represent, Roll Tide Baby!
The Milo's near UAB got me through graduate school. I used to treat myself with two large fries when I passed a test. I am now fat, but I am educated. Bless your rank!!
Milo’s and taco casa are everything 🙌🙌
My first job was at Jack's. It'll always have a special place in my heart.
We love Jack's too, @shavaughn1980 ! Thanks for watching!
Mine too.
I always forget other people know of foo... just learned they're opening a location up in auburn
I have a buddy who works there.
I used to work at foosacklys and it is Texas toast but we put it under a weight on a grill top. And all the sauces (except the bbq) is made in house
I was today years old when I found out Milos isn’t just a tea company. Guess I need to visit Alabama again soon.
I have lived in Michigan my whole life (Dad lived in Mobile when he was younger) and we get a case of Conecuh delivered to us a couple times a year.
I am going to hit all these joints on my dream road trip around Alabama, but that Milo's burger has me salivating over here in CA!
Thank you!
Jacks has those orange shakes that are great. Love Jacks
I live in northeast Tennessee now, and every time I go back to Alabama I always go out of my way for milos
Jack’s is soo good❤️ the closest one to me is in Jackson, Tn and I live in Memphis. and when we go to Nashville we always make a stop and get some. And they were so nice! ❤️
I literally love Matt so much. I disagree with him on some videos but he's so funny. I'm from Bham Alabama by the way.
We disagree with him sometimes too. But he is so funny you can't stay mad at him!
I can't believe you've never had a taco burger! I'm from Texas as that's always been one of my favorites. Been eating taboo burgers for years. Never knew any place sold them though.
I worked at a Jack's in.... Mississippi.... Their biscuits are banging!! Their fries have a sprinkling of buttered popcorn salt-- MMMMM!!! I miss the food from there now I live in Baltimore MD....
Just planned a trip over to Decatur to visit the closest location of the winner -- I've been living in Alabama since 1978 and have never eaten at any of their locations, but I've had their tea many, many times. Am trying to hit the cool Bama things I haven't gotten to, yet, because I'll be moving up north in the next year or so. Thanks for the fun review, man!
Yeah I can relate
Alabama is awesome
Even though I’ve never been
Conecuh is peak Alabamaness.
Agreed.
That's why as an Alabamian forced to live out of state, I pick up 50lbs every time I visit home.
I worked at Guthrie’s in Opelika AL.. simple menu.. loved it.. second only to Zaxbies
Beulah native working in Opelika most my life. Can't believe I found someone from O town in RUclips comments lol.
100% Agree. I'm from Florida and we have some AMAZING fast food, Five guys for instance... but Milos changed my life.
love taco casa!
I have family on both Anniston & Ohatchee Alabama. . . ROLL TIDE, ROLL!*! Luv this channel
@Derrick Collins // I was born/raised in eastern Ohio, but now live in South Carolina.. my mom was an Army brat, an only child that traveled with her parents all over the USA; settling down for a good portion of her childhood in Anniston.
Jack's has truck parking at most locations. Comes in handy when you are towing a boat, trailer or camper. They also have fried apple pies like McDonald's had a long time ago.
I'm from california but i am a big fan of Milo's because they sell their sweet tea in supermarkets here and it is the best.
EVERYBODY:...
TITLE: "This is Alabma"
I noticed that.... It doesnt help with our stereotypes lol
When I went to Troy University, my truck interior always smelled like a Jack's burger...too bad we don't have a Jack's in the Foley area! I don't know why Milo's didn't last long down here...I loved their burgers! Guthrie's is so good and yep, that sauce is awesome! That Taco Casa sounds good...never seen one around here!
Jacks has a country ham biscuit though and that fried pork chop biscuit 😍😍 None of them are bad, all are delicious joints
Texans are confused by this Taco Casa intruder... theres 2 Taco Casa’s?!
Clearly untenable. The second one to go into business must switch to Casa Taco immediately!
I was just thinking that it doesn't look like any Taco Casa food I have ever eaten!
Taco Casa in Texas (and Oklahoma) was founded in 1972 but other than that there is no information on the company history. Taco Casa of Alabama was founded in 1974 and has a full (and vividly detailed) history on it's website with no mention of the Texas chain. I don't know about franchise law but I do know that McDonalds was barred from entering Houston for over a decade because of a local (and unrelated) "McDonalds". Those trade names seem to be state specific, not nationally protected.
ODD how both were founded within two years of each other.
Their fries dipped in their ranch is amazing, HI from philcampbell alabama! P.S. never heard of taco casa but on the flip side Jack's gravy and biscuits are the bomb.
This man should have his own show
Taco Casa is Life. Matt is hilarious.
Milo's also sales their tea in Wal-Mart all over the country. I moved from GA to OR. I can still get Milo's
Cathy Peterson I’m from Indiana and we get Milo’s tea here now at Walmart. Love it!! Now my next visit to AL will include the restaurant.
I live in the St. Louis, MO area and Milos is the only tea I'll drink. I get at least 2 gallons everytime we go to Wal-Mart and that's quite often.
Milo's yes is sold in Georgia Kroger stores
I LOVE Jacks Frys
Gotta do nc. Bojangles, cook out, Krispy Kreme if that counts, biscuitville, tons
This video makes me miss living in Birmingham, I lived there roughly from 87-93
The Jacks bun issue hit a nerve with me also. The Big Jack is now a double burger. I liked the old way. Jacks breakfast is great. Milos is dang good. The others I dont do very often. A Steak & Shake in Tuscaloosa would be great.
i been to taco casa. allegedly it was one of my dad's favorite places in college (he met my mother at the university of alabama unfortunately). it wasn't bad. i distinctly recall all the menu pictures looking like they were from the 80s.
talk to your case stations because ours have drive through windows so we can order our drinks, donuts, and fast food without going in and it’s been like that for years. It helped during the lockdown
Believe it or not back in the day Taco Bell had a Taco in a bun. I truly enjoy your videos.
I'm from Tuscaloosa and Taco Casa is the Bomb Diggity
Christian Martin I love Taco Casa I live about a two hours away from Tuscaloosa
They have one in Birmingham to
@@roxannejohnson945 I did not know that
We stop every time we go from KY to FL and back.
As someone who’s worked at Jack’s I personally recommend the Double Cheeseburger over the Big Jack any day of the week. Breakfast-wise I’m a Breakfast Deluxe person, and I always get the ham or the bacon. You already get the biscuit and gravy, as well as more meat, the eggs, and grits. Don’t drink the regular coffee though, get iced if you’re not lactose intolerant.
A California restaurant called Del Taco has those they call them bun tacos, or did in the late 80s when I was out there.
Well that is I'm Moving to Alabama

As someone from Mobile: Fair enough, I'll have to try Milo's and Jack's when I get a chance
You really should! And when you head this way, bring us some Foosackly's, please!
Hmmm...I'm moving to Alabama in a couple months, I'll have to try some of these fast food restaurants
Get some Milos sweet tea and a fry... no disappointments!
Go to Milo's first so you can set the standard. Then hamburger heaven. Jacka is about like a cross between in and out burger and Whataburger. After that you will go back to Milo's
