Can we get a pork skin bless your rank plz!?!?
That'd be a good one!
This needs more likes.
That’d be AMAZING and ridiculously southern, lol.
That sounds good.
Gotta get those Golden Flake Sweet Heat skins!
Cheese straws. I remember chowing down on those. Nice job Matt.
Cheese straws are easy and fun to make at home and serve with drinks
Southern caviar also know as boiled peanuts.
Priester’s is the official Gulf Shores Vacation rest stop of AL
Love that foot-tappin' banjo music 😎💃🎶
Your southern drink video got me to try cherwine now this will drive me to trying those crackers.. I need to just move south so I don't have to spend so much for shipping lol
If you like Cheerwine, try making a chocolate Cheerwine cake 🤤 it is literally a slice of heaven
@Steven Justice C'mon down! We'd love to have y'all!
@@Tupelo927 Matt & the gang should do a Meet Up in Birmingham at Full Moon or someplace similar.
I live in North Alabama, and I didn't know some of these existed!
I'm with you @Frances Beck, I also live in North Alabama (Florence) & I didn't know some of these existed! Although I disagree with the cheese straws! I can't stand them!!
Is it just me, or does "Yellowhammer Yummies" sound like some kind of edible?
Edit: Hold up, I didn't get any pork skins when I signed up to be a trucker!
You got hosed outta the good deal, friend!
Yeah honestly, “Yellowhammer Yummies” sounds like the name for getting hungry during a bad acid trip
The way my wife lit up when you said to have the smokehouse crackers with pimento cheese was priceless.
Matt makes every snack better...friends really do make it fun.
my pawpaw lived in fayette (properly pronounced fet) all his life. he was county commisioner, sherriff, and they tried to make him mayor. he ran the williamson sawmill until the day he was worth a million dollars and he shut it down. refused to keep any syrup other than golden eagle in his house. he went to canada once and carried 3 jars with him.
Both my parents are from there and my Grandparents still live there. I love going to spend time with them and Golden Eagle is literally the best syrup ever😂
Rank Blue Bell ice cream flavors!
YES YES YES!!
My dad used to make brown sugar glazed pecans every thanksgiving. It was what we snacked on while watching football before the turkey was done. Now I want to try honey glazed.
Recently moved to Bama so now I’ll know what to look for thanks Matt!
Those Smokehouse Crackers are the best!!! It’s funny: they used to come in a ZipLoc bag inside of a brown paper bag with the label on it. Before they got fancy. 🤣
Why do so little know of bless your rank. This needs to be on tv.
Eagle Snacks? How many of you remember that Snack Mix they used to make? Those Cheddar and Bacon Cracker pieces were AMAZING!
"Back in the day, before diseases..." LOL
The smokehouse crackers are great. All the different flavors. In Northeast Mississippi we count them as local.
I love it when you try all the different foods. I’m in a stupid weight loss competition right now so while you sample all the yummy looking stuff....I’m chomping on my stupid apple but pretending to eat the good stuff. 🤤🤤🤤
E
I was waiting on Stage Planks to show up. Yeah they are made by Bud's Best Cookies but they win on the Alabama factor big time.
I’m catching up on all the bless your ranks and Matt keeps me laughing and entertained. “Your all winners and not trying to sound like a upward basketball coach”. If your from the south, you know. Thanks again
Great snack review Matt! But I got to say it... Margarine is not butter!
"Dip that thang all the way"... yeeees!
Mannnnn I been away from Bama for close to ten years now, and I miss buds best cookies so bad 😩😮💨 nobody understands how good they are.
As someone born in Huntsville Alabama I am Loving this and Matt!😊😋😊
We are going to Gulf Shores for our 30th Anniversary. I now have a new list of things to try while we are there.
Bugs/critter related snacks bless your rank!!! Scorpion lollipop. Nacho dust crickets. Etc. Let's do it!!!
You guys got me hooked I can't stop watching and I'm not getting anything done!!! ❤🙏😊
My favorite is Mule Mix, out of Fairhope. Salty, spicy, a little sweet. Damn !!!
Instead of Priester's sweet pecans, I recommend roasted salted pecans from Wood Pecan. They have a big sign on 65S of Montgomery, the business is a few miles off the hiway but they are the best pecans.
I'm from Arizona so I didn't know any of them. Where is the Alabama snack gift basket? These look great! And Matt's commentary is what makes these so fun to watch. Great Job!
This is my favorite series that y’all do. Matt is quite entertaining- and bless his rank- but I rarely agree with the top contenders. Still love watching- I’m not detoured in the least. Thanks & hope you do more in the future.
I just enjoy listening to your opinions, even if I never try half that stuff. Would much rather absorb your positive vibe, than watch some junk.
Yay for Matt!!
Yay Matt!!
When I was in ‘Bama in the early 2000’s they use to have chicken skin snacks, kind like pork rinds, but much, much tastier! There were 6 large pieces in the bag. I forgot the name, but they were incredible! I haven’t been able to find them since 😢
I lived my whole childhood on the Walker, Tuscaloosa, Jefferson county line. I would have loved it if we could have fished the Warrior together…. That’s an invite. Love the videos.
What about boiled peanuts 🥜
"Bud's Best Cookies" are sold at our local Rose's discount stores in North Carolina.
please rank laundry detergent.
Those crackers sound incredible Matt. I just love anything with a good real smoke smoke flavor (cheese, nuts, meats, chips, mussels, you name it... )
Priesters taste like a beach trip. I’m from Montgomery so just after leaving for Gulf Shores we would stop super excited for the beach.
I don't remember any of these but it has been 34 years since I lived in Montgomery. Snack of choice was Cajun Spice Ruffles and stopping at Winn Dixie and picking up a box of Rich's frozen glazed donuts every few days.
Remember Taco flavored Doritos. I found them in a 7-11 recently and they were good....
I got no dog in this fight but I reckon there are two categories of snackability that oughta be recognized here. Category 1 is snacks meant to be washed down with a big ol' glass of cold milk while category 2 is things better suited to be chased down with an ice cold Coke. (And by Coke I mean Dr. Pepper.) It took me a good long while but I separated the results in a MS Multiplan spreadsheet if any of y'all's interested. If you wants a copy on floppy disk just text "Hold up Matt" to BR-549.
I love this guy. Hilarious
I live in Fort Payne, about 40 minutes from Boaz. I remember being little and my parents going to those giant outlets pushing me around in a stroller. I hated when my parents kept looking at clothes. I was always impatiently waiting for KB Toys and the chocolate candy store.
Where the heck are Sweet Heat potato chips from Golden Flake?!?!? Wash them down with some Milos sweet tea and your set!!
I have lived in boaz and I didn't know they existed lol. Gonna have to check them out
They sell 'em at the Foodland. They're amazing. Try the original spicy and the BBQ.
Never seen the crackers and loved the buds best peanut butter cookies them crackers should be in every store in Alabama
Buds cookies are everywhere. Have them up in Pa but like you said good value. 79 cents up here
The only snack up there that I’ve ever seen up here is Bud’s Best Cookies but I want those crackers, Matt! I’m going to have to look on Amazon for them!
Producers and Matt: I feel you need to do a second episode. Ranking salty and sweet snacks together is inappropriate. It is like saying Alabama and Auburn are both football teams. One is clearly not depending on your personal preference. And, one more thing-- after exposing us to these snacks, I think you should tell us where to buy them. Gladly make a run across the GA border to find these in Heflin or Oxford or Anniston. Heck, I would drive even to Sylacauga. Just say'n. (Keep up the great work. Your humor brought a touch of home to me when I was working overseas.)
I live in Baldwin county Alabama and i have only heard of priesters pecans and pork rinds but we’re about as south as you can go in Alabama
I love! Half Moon cookies! However, I do agree that they need to actually cover half the cookie in the chocolate.
Don’t worry about good ol Boaz Alabama. We got a splash pad at our park now lol.
I live in the town right by Boaz were the smokehouse crackers are made they are good.
I want a gift box with one of each of these thing, please.😁
Used to work with a company out of central Louisiana. Every year at Christmas would receive a “Louisiana Care Package” box. It would normally include a container of Community Coffee, a bag of Zapp’s potato chips, New Orleans pralines and other things I can’t remember off the top of my head. Bring that up because that would be a great idea, especially to help these smaller companies expand since like most of the other people have commented, had never heard of most of these previously.
I got to check this stuff out
Now do the same Bless Your Rank for every other southern state, I'm sure folks here would happily send you samples from our neck of the woods - South Florida would definitely be the oddball with Chicharrones, Plantain chips, Egg Nouget, Guava Paste, and that is just the Cubans, now add in every other Latin neighborhood.
You waxed so poetic about the crackers, I just ordered a bag.
I feel so proud to be from boaz
Yo Matt! I'm having Where's Matt.. itis!! I've seen all your bless your rank episodes, uhh... twice.. maybe 3 times.. lol When are you gonna make some more bless your rank videos??
PS.. I'm watching this one again.. and i don't even live in Alabama! 😂
My neighbors to the east (I live in Mississippi) got some good snacks it sounds like
Love cajun food my husband is from New orleans
Upward Basketball 🏀 Good Times, lol
I’m from west Jefferson feel that
ok crowning you the King of Alabama
Fayette and the counties around it are crazy 😂 I know because I like one county over
Oh my lord yes!!!😂🤭
I have literally gone around and around the pecan sampling table at Priester's and no one said anything. 😂
I wish I could arrange to have all of these snacks and I can ask what snacks you may want from West Virginia
@Matt & the gang should do a Meet Up in Birmingham at Full Moon or someplace similar.
Thank you
0:19 very true 😂
I have traveled to 43 states including Alabama, currently live in Illinois and I have never even heard of any of these brands. Need to take those smokehouse crackers for a spin
Hey, we have a full moon down here in Dothan
Love pork rinds and I'm from wisconsin
Golden Flake originated in Birmingham in the 1920-ish time but very recently sold to Utz
That explains why they have no longer have flavor 90% of the time!
It may be a crime to not stop at Priester’s Pecans! ❤️❤️
If you ever find yourself in Enterprise, the donut place downtown is amazing.
Now I gotta go find the things I haven't tried yet... like those smokehouse crackers!
My grandparents are from Alabama!
Mmmmmmmmm love me some pork skin 😋
Ive lived 22 of my 30 years of life in Alabama, and I didnt know about any of these 😅 maybe ollies but thats it.
Dip the pork skins in apple cider vinegar with garlic powder added. Hot sauce optional, depending on taste.
Today I learned Alabamonians call them "pork skins" rather than "pork rinds".
Bud's Best Cookies are WAY better than they have any right to be, that is for sure. 😍
I work in Boaz and had no idea about the crackers gonna have to pick me some up!
This is exactly the order I would've put these in, weird!
The best pork rinds in my town come from the Mexican market. They are warm and fresh with light seasoning. Plenty of fat and skin.
Omg he's so funny 🤣🤣 the standard issue trucker's equipment 💀 dead 🤣
The upward bound basket ball coach comment hit me hard.
We are headed to Bama now and I need some of those cookies lol
If you’re talking about the Halfmoon cookies highly recommend!! If you’re talking about Bud’s Best try and get some butterfinger cookies!
But Golden Eagle syrup on a biscuit though...life-changing
Anniston born here
In the snack universe there are two different factions, Sweet and Salty/Savory. If you're a salty snack person like me, sweet snacks are not really snacks, they're desert or treats. They are meant to be eaten is small doses as a reward of sorts. Snacks are the kind of thing you crack open an hour or two before dinner just to take the edge off and next thing you know the dinner bell is ringing and you're stuffed and can't eat Mama's chicken and dumplings. The exception to that rule is Priester's Pecans. They are the ultimate road food. It's the kind of place you stop on the way home from hunting camp in Butler Co and buy a bag or two for the family. By the time you get to Fultondale you've gone through the honey glazed and are halfway through the pralines and are so full you skip the Whataburger (because Chick Fil A is closed on Sunday).
Damn you Matt I wanna try all those snacks and all the Golden Flake chips
Me too
I ordered some Spice's Smokehouse Crackers. Great crackers!
I believe my state have delicious snacks and food , " Go Big Red " 😃.
I thought y’all were in Mobile. Ur in Birmingham?
i agree full moon is stingy with the chocolate sauce
