I love the Cody powder. My grandmother used it every time she went away. So now every time I use it, it reminds me of her and brings back fond memories. ☺️
I've been using the Wet n Wild powder for a few years now and I love it. It's very silky, lightweight and finishes beautifully.
You are so right about the Laura mercier powder and under eyes! So glad I’m not the only one that it makes look older! Excited to try the wet n wild one!!
Thanks to your videos, I ditched my Laura Mercier powder and switched to Charlotte Tilbury about 2 months ago. My skin looks so luminous and flawless now. (I have combo to dry skin. ). The Laura Mercier worked in my 30s but no so much in my mid 40s. Thank you for you channel- so helpful in helping me find what works best at this age! 👍
This was such a comprehensive video on good powders. I used Coty some as a teen. Gosh that brings back memories. I sure did enjoy this!!! Take care. xox, Melissa
I love your videos. There are alot of products that I want to try but the prices are a little steep for me. However, you have soo many videos with affordable makeup and skincare that I can't complain! Keep em coming!
I have the Wet n Wild which I love. I am happy to know I'm using a good one and I didn't have to spend a fortune! I respect your opinion so much! Thanks for the review!!
Thank you sooo much for the recommendation Risa 💕 I appreciate this so much and please keep up the hard and great work 💪 We love you Risa 😍❤
Thanks for the suggestions! By the way, your eye make up is gorgeous in the video, love it!!😊
Great powder suggestions. Nicely done. I'm a powder hoarder and have tried so many of these. But wow....that Chanel looks divine and is calling my name.
I have been using Hourglass Veil setting powder for several years now. I've tried many others, but always go back to it. At 71 It's my HG! By the way, my mom used the Coty powder back in the 50s and 60s! 😊
I wore it in the 70s but I won't now. Talc is the 1st ingredient. And I like less of a smell.
My paternal Grandmother had a nice, built-in vanity in her bathroom and when we visited a few times a week I used to play with the heaps and heaps of makeup in that vanity.
It was one thing that never bothered my grandma (a lot of stuff got on her nerves lol) She was a beauty and that is actually where I first saw the Coty powder and ended up using it myself later on... If memory serves me correctly, my grandma always had a slightly damp sponge in hers.. and it looked like a small natural sponge (the skeletons of Ocean life forms, i think? I don't know if they're plants or animals)
@@Ms.CindyLee and parabens! It’s cheap because it’s filled with toxic chemicals
Hi Jann
Another powder I swear by is the IT cosmetics bye bye pores loose and pressed illuminating one. Makes my skin look flawless
Totally agree me too!
Same! And that one works for both under the eyes and on the face!
Agree.
Ive been wanting to try that powder and now i will thanks for the info
Thank you beautiful Risa! I'm totally getting the Wet and Wild powder!😊😉💖
Thanks so much Risa. I appreciate how you include which powders work best under the eyes. I have been wanting to try the By Terry powder for a while but better start with the smaller size. I need to use up my Laura Mercier first. Thanks to a previous video of yours, I learned how to use the puff with LM properly. Have a great day!💟 Okay just ordered the mini size of By Terry. Fingers crossed! 🤞🏻
Will definitely try the Wet and Wild!!! Thank you as usual ❤️
FINALLY someone who has experienced Laura Mercier aging under eyes!!! Ppl used to say I was crazy & I’d say…I’m not 27 I’m 47 and just bc it’s all hyped up on social media doesn’t make it the best for mature skin. It’s a beautiful face powder and that’s exactly how I used it until it was empty and threw it in the trash and won’t buy it again. There are too many other powders that I can use for face and under eyes at a fraction of the price and many are named in this videos 👏❤️
#she #aint #lyin
I am so glad the Laura Mercier still makes the cut because that’s what I have and I am on a Replacement Only No Buy. I also have an old very pale yellow Laura Mercier eye shadow that if applied with a very light hand, works as an undereye setting powder. I got a sample of the Glow Finish version but it seems kind of sparkly.
What a terrific video!!!! Thank you Risa ❤️
Loved this list and am very excited to try the Wet n Wild😄. I’m 56 with normal to dry skin and minimal lines around my eyes - combination of good genes and good skin care 😉
I only ever use powder to set my under eye area and my holy grail is the Fenty loose powder in lavender- it’s like a miracle in a bottle and just magically smooths and brightens my under eye area. I feel like I’m the only one who likes it lol because I never hear anyone talk about it but if and when I ever run out of it I’m definitely trying the Wet n Wild.
Thanks Risa 💕

My favorite setting powder for eyes and face is the Nikkia Joy Cosmetics Velvet Finishing Powder. It was created to work on oily skin but it's great for all skin types. I have dry skin and I love it! Nothing else compares.
I really appreciated this video. So helpful! For sure I am going to buy the W and W powder and the Number 7 too. Such a good review! Thank you
Was just looking for a powder on Ulta. Thanks lady! Love your videos!
Great video and explanation of these products! You helped me immensely!! I didn’t realize how to begin to choose before, especially now with mature skin! Thank you for your guidance in helping “us” learn better ways to get an improved finish and softened look!!
Woooahhh Risa you had a point!! I tried the Wet N Wild photo focus translucent powder…wow! Super impressed. I cannot believe how well this powder held up. Shook!
I really really enjoy your videos! I always learn so much from you! you are so very talented and beautiful on the outside and in. Thank you again for your videos!😊
I bought the CT powder and totally agree with you! 🙌 I’m going to give the Wet n Wild a try as well. Thanks for the recommendation!
THANK YOU...I finally bought the LM powder after months of seeing good reviews, but wow it creased my under eyes so badly!!!! Thanks for the other recommendations!
Thank you Risa for this review I have been looking for a powder that don’t agree my under eyes for a long time now I know Which one to use ❤️
Hello Risa, I enjoyed your video! Thank you so much!! Have a beautiful day!!! 💗
Love your channel 😍
Can you do a skincare prep before makeup application?
I like the CT one and LOVE the hourglass veil- can't even feel it on. Beautiful.
I have combo skin and i love the Huda Beauty powder, CT and no7 powders are great and i also really love the Nikka Joy velvet finishing powder its amazing for controlling oil and it has an amazing vanilla smell because of the natural vanillin in it
Great video Risa💗
Have a beautiful day 💖🥰
I stopped and bought the WnW the day I watched this video and I really like it a lot too. I like it better than the Coty because it’s not as “thick”. I too am a powder obsessed gal and I have probably at least 25 in my arsenal and this is one I’m using all the time now thanks to you Risa. !!! I buy a lot of things you recommend and like just about all of them. I am 10 years older than you are so of course I have wrinkles to contend with 🤮 😜. Thank you for all your help ♥️💋 I really enjoy your channel the best out of all my subs.
As always, great video!!! Thank you!🤩🙏🏻
Yes!! I have been using the Chantecaille powder for close to a decade. It's the best I've ever found. I like it best by pressing it in using the included puff.
Great video Risa!! Thank you
Great video Risa! Thank you! 😊❤️
I love the sisley and lameir powders. There just so expensive but soooo good
I have several of these in my collection. I recently got the By Terry Hydro powder as a finishing powder; it's okay but I'm not loving it. I'll try it as a setting powder instead this week. I've had the Coty Airspun around for close to 40 years. I use it off and on, it's a great powder but I don't care for the smell. I'm 54 with normal/dry (mostly dehydrated) skin. Thanks for all the videos and including things that work for those of us with dry skin
One of the most beautiful yet super underrated powders is Loreal Hydra Perfecte. SO gorgeous on every skin type I’ve used it on from the oiliest to the driest.
This product is SO HIDDEN! It’s a GEM! Just like a high end powder, I find that it works like the hourglass but is more translucent (less yellow) and sets my under eyes better
I agree, Risa! I tried the No.7 and didn’t like it as much as the CT powder.
I really love the FLOWER Light ILLusion pressed powder. It’s very blurring and also ELF High Definition loose powder works really well. I have the Coty powder but the smell! I also purchased the Wet n Wild Photofocus powder. I also like Laura Mercier’s loose powder. I have an oily t zone. I usually switch up my powder but am finding I am reaching for the FLOWER powder more these days. Love your videos!!
I like very much your tutorials especially because you look so much like my granddaughter and every time I watch one of your videos you remind me of her. She is only 18 years but her eyes are as blue and spectacular as the sea blue and her hair is so long blond. Keep a good job, cause I have learned a lot from you about make-up.
If you like the wet and wild powder you will absolutely ADORE the Elf High Definition Powder!!! It’s so finely milled and is amazing!!!
Thank you! More powders to add to my list ❤️❤️❤️
Posting a comment for support! Thanks for sharing. I like the milk makeup loose powder for oily skin/blurring.
Thanks for the good info! There's also a great technique to curve mature lips upward by eliminating the outer corners and focusing on contouring the lower and upper which I think would look great on you 🙂
The Chantecaille powder does come in another shade called Subtle. I use the shade subtle and it works beautifully on my skin tone. I purchased from Bergdorf Goodman.
Cover FX has a wonderful setting powder, as well! I also enjoy Too Faced Peach Perfect Setting Powder for my face only.I've also been quite impressed with affordably-priced, Focallure's talc-free , vegan Flawless Setting Powder in 'Ivory' for my face, and 'Classic Rose' under my eyes (since e.l.f. Is discontinuing their awesome under eye powder)! I'm also going to try Nikkia Joy's highly rated setting powder to see if it is also just as wonderful for my normal, aging complexion (I turn 60 on March 29!!) as it appears to be for those with younger skin! Thanks for sharing your favourites, Risa, Sherrey🎀
Addicted to your channel!!
I don't use setting powder because they all settled into my fine lines. I'd love to try more powders but i hate to return makeup, it just goes to the trash. Maybe when there's more try on sizes, I'll try more varieties. Thank you so much for all your suggestions 😘
My fave is Nars light reflecting pressed. Makes makeup wear so well. It has to be the pressed. I hated the loose version.
Good powder review! I have the Laura Mercier glow powder and I like it, I will have to try to wet and wild one. I have dry to normal skin
I'm 61. My cody rose airspun is my favorite powder. I can say I've tried a few powders and fentys powder I love also!
I love the Koh Gen Do sheer moist powder. It’s the best I have found, and I e tried a lot!!
Have you tried the Maybelline Fit Me one? It's a beautiful powder as well! The Charlotte Tilbury never worked well for me...always pulls orange. 😉
I still love my nikkiajoy cosmetics velvet finishing powder and my Elf halo powder, Rimmel finishing powder.
I like the Nikkia Joy powder!
I hadn't realized that the Chantacaille powder is talc free so Thanks! I love the By Terry and also like the performance of the NikkiaJoy Velvet powder but sadly am not a fan of the vanilla scent. I need to give that one away.
Thanks Risa I ‘ ll keep trying to look for the 7
Enjoyed the video 🌸
I love each and every one of your videos, thank you!!! Question. Can I use the CT flawless finish powder after I moisture or sunscreen to give me a flawless look? Or is this strictly for over makeup?
Can we get an updated makeup collection? I'd also like to see your Empties (the products you used up).
Thanks for this Great video Risa. For me I love the by terry and Charlotte tilbury. 👍
I need to defuse my pores, I gave up on trying to cover all the lines that are not so fine anymore LOL ❤️❤️❤️🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 thank you sunshine!! Have a great day!!🌸
Hi Risa...was wondering if you have seen Wayne Goss's video titled Concealer as Foundation? Was from last year I believe but I just came across it. Have you ever tried this method? As a mature woman I was curious as to how it would look. Have you ever posted a video like this before? If not would love to see one. Love your channel ❤
I have the e.l.f. Halo Glow setting powder, and I really like it!
I love jouer pressed powder! And I've been trying a pressed.powder from makeup revolution and I like it a lot
The Wet N Wild Powder and Foundations work great.
Gotta get those No.7 and Wet n’ Wild powders!! 😃
The only powder I have completely finished and ordered more is the Nikkia Joy velvet finishing powder it’s by far the best. I have tried them all from Huda to Charlotte to No.7
I am planning to try Nikkia's setting powder to see if it works for my normal, aging complexion! Are you exclusively using hers now? How exciting, Sherrey🎀
Agreed! Nikkia Joy is the best!
What is Nikkia Joy? I assume that’s a brand name? I’ve never heard of that before, EVER!🤔 Perhaps it MAY have something to do with the region of country I live in (the U.S.)- the South? -
Texas right now, to be exact. Any/All info you are willing to share about this brand or name or powder I would be so appreciative to you ! !
@@gingeroo5765 Nikkia Joy is a MUA from Australia who has her own line of lashes and cosmetics. This powder is so, so wonderful! I have oily skin and this is the ONLY powder that works for me. It also blurs fine lines and large pores. Check out her page, I promise you won’t be disappointed.
Yes agreed! And I feel like less is more with her powder, a little goes a long way and keeps it looking natural!
My favorite for undereye is the Ilia soft focusing translucent powder. I have several of the brands you have here & agree ther good. My friends favorite powder is the Lancome high no shine translucent but I've not tried that one yet.
Thank you for such a great helpful video.
Thank you for sharing!❤
Well, it looks like I will be trying the W n W powder! I use affordable makeup, but now that I have mature skin I have bee searching the comment sections of high end powders... trying to decide if I want to bit the bullet and try one. I'm curious if you have tried the Elf Halo Glow face powder?
I fully agree with the Laura merrier powder for setting under eyes. It leaves my under eyes creepy & accentuates the lines. In fact I was quite disappointed in it. I use the No 7 for under eyes which I find much much better.
Hi Risa,
I would love to know what is your preferred method of application for both the No7 pressed powder as well as the Wet & Wild loose powder? Also, do you apply under the eyes one way and the rest of the face another way (damp beauty sponge vs brush)? THank you so much for making this video!
This is so helpful. I am trying to find a good foundation and setting powder for my 52 year old skin that has texture and poors and all the dark spots and circles under my eyes. I am frustrated because I have been hard to shade match. Thank you for your videos you look amazing and I enjoy watching and learning, even though I have no idea how to achieve that smoothing lit from within look. 😄
I’m hearing great things about the new Tacha powder. Almost purchased the Rodial banana powder it sold out at blue mercury☹️now that, it didn’t make the Risa list I’m not that disappointed🙂
My problem is I feel whatever powder I use under my eyes, always ends up looking crepey and dry. It’s very frustrating!
Have you ever tried using a wet beauty sponge dipped in your powder to set under the eyes. I seen it on a video recently and it really works!!!
@@jenniferrodriguez4402 I have not but I’m willing to try anything! Thank you!!!! 🙂
The same by me..
Have you seen Risa's video on a concealer hack? Could be helpful.
@@LivingFREE307I will check it out! Thanks so much!
Great vid, I’ve also watched the previous vid on the same topic. As a woc, I also don’t like yellow powder, it does not suit me and makes my under eye look aged, my favourite powders to set under eye is ct airbrush & Mac msf. Both these powders are available in colours to suit all skin tones. Not really a loose powder fan. Just want to add; here in the U.K. boots no.7 powder is not available for woc, and only tends to be available mostly one shade in the compact. This shade I think will leave a white caste on woc. However, in the loose it’s available in 3 shades and has good reviews for the dark shade by woc.
This is awesome!
I use the too faced ethereal setting powder for my face and the by Terry for under my eyes....might sound high maintenance but I'm 54 and it's a magical combo...my face never looks cakey and. The by Terry does a great job with my under eye area which is saying alot because despite all my efforts to fight off wrinkles...I still have them and I look pretty damn good for my age if I do say so myself :) I have tried the hourglass..the huda beauty..the Laura Mercier and the coty...all good but not as good as the above mentioned..but seriously..we are all different..it takes alot of trial and error to find your perfect combo.
I love the Wet N Wild powder
Thank you Risa for sharing this. I'll.try the cheaper version. 😁
My favourite that I always go back to is the rcma original no color powder. It's been around a long time for a reason!
Just purchased a sample size of it cosmetics bye bye pores brightening compressed powder on Amazon. I really like it. I have normal to dry skin though.
I also love that wet n wild loose powder! I use it for when I want to bake my face. Not sure if you have used it or not but the flower beauty light illusion perfecting powder is a total dupe for the Charlotte tilbury one. It’s so good for the under eyes! It’s so smoothing, non cakey, blurs any texture or fine lines you may have. It’s just a good setting powder 👍🏼
I will try that one for sure! Thanks!
Oh wow! Love a drugstore dupe. Thank you for sharing. Is it hydrating enough for under eyes? I'm 27 but feel like I get dry under eyes and don't wanna feel like crow's feet coming on all day haha
@@adaywithaleks6556 haha I feel ya my under eyes can get a little dry too and I love a good drugstore dupe! I wouldn’t say it’s hydrating but it’s also not drying and that’s what I love about it! It’s a very finely milled powder that feels like silk on your skin. My concealer doesn’t crease and it makes my under eyes looks smooth! I just love it so much so yes I highly recommend it! Hope this helps. Have a good day 😁
@@simplysandra1729 Thank you so much for your reply first and foremost I really appreciate it! Yes, it's just such a great feeling to find something you can love and use in the drugstore without spending big for it, and I'm ALL for it lol. I will definitely have to try it. I have been looking for something just like that! Thank you for the suggestion again! 🙏🤗
Totally agree with Simply Sandra! FB Powder is soooo smooth and does not cake up on your skin. I have been using it for like 2 years already and still love it...:)
Hi Risa, I’m brand new to your channel & SO EXCITED to find you. You truly bring a youthful enthusiasm to us mature gals that want to look amazing & pretty. As newly single, living in a ski resort in Montana, I want to appear healthy, glowing & a bit (dare I say) glamorous. I’m writing you as I’m sniffing my Coty loose powder and thinking of all the beautiful women that used this before us. Thank you Risa, I’ve found a trusted friend in you & your amazing videos.
Lea Ann
Welcome to an incredible new chapter in life!! Cheers!
@@mdcdrmw thank you Lisa!! How kind of you 💕
Hailey beauty setting powder is amazing BUT for me Charlotte Tilbury is the BEST. Thak you for the video Risa.
I love Guerlain Meteorite Pearls!
Me, too!
I have always wondered about those but you never hear many people talk about them... And I was always a bit scared to try it, in case i didn't like.. they are not cheap lol. How do you use the powder? Do you swirl a brush over the meterorites and use as an all over finishing powder?
Hello My Dear Risa! Great video! I’m 48, with normal skin. I but don’t have any issues with the under eye. I can set it with any powder and it will not crease. My issue is the appearance of pores. It’s minimal, but it bothers me. Aside from the Coty Airspun, I’m not sure what lane to get into. Do I start off with the cheap W-n-W and see how it goes, or purchase that to try on one cheek and a higher end to try in the other cheek to compare and contrast. And if I were to get a high end one for that airbrushed look that helps with pores, which would you go with? Thx so much!!!
I am 56 with dry skin, and struggle to find an under eye powder that works for me. CT has been my go to over the past year, but I just recently discovered the Osmosis finishing powder in translucent and it was good. U should check it out!! Thx for all you do!
Hi Risa, back to your „ shower routine „ video. How often do you peel your whole body? Thank you for your answer.
Uggh I have tried every powder under the sun 🌞 and I just can’t use anything it enhances my lines 🤦♀️ great 👍 video Risa! Your so beautiful!
Thank you for ur helpful videos
Hi Risa,i think i try the wet and wild.I am saving to buy CT a lot of make in one time.I have the magie cream. And now i use the glow from elf.
I use the CoverFX translucent loose powder and I think it's good but I have no reference as to how it performs against these recommendations. I have never bought but am so tempted by the CT one!
Loved this video! A few questions... I have aging skin, but still have a pretty oily t-zone and struggle with keeping my makeup on in that area. I LOVE the byTerry for setting my undereye, but while it looks beautiful when I first apply it to my face, it does nothing for holding my makeup in place. Neither does the Hourglass. 1. Which of these do you think does the best job at controlling oil and keeping your makeup in place in the t-zone area? 2. And which do you think is best for using as an overall, buffing/finishing powder? Thank you! Love your expertise!
Hi Terri! I would recommend either the Laura Mercier or Huda Beauty used with a puff and pressing it in to your most oily areas. I would also recommend finishing with a setting spray. Charlotte Tilbury’s in amazing! My makeup doesn’t budge!
Loving this video. Getting a lot of reviews from everyone, going to bankrupt me, need to get them 👍
The wet and wild one sets the under eye without making you look old? I have dry skin.. Marc Jacob's coconut powder is awesome
