The stock 5.0 is a legendary motor. The Mustang with the performance pack can it 3.9 sec zero to 60 and get under 12 secs in the qtr, you can a dealer installed supercharger with a 36 k warranty at certain dealers and have 700+HP for 45k. I'm a big Hemi fan, but the 5.0 is the real deal.
The 430 rwtq is completely bananas. Back in the long runner cobra intake original 5.0 days a high rwtq was 350-360rwtq out of a 5.0 on the dyno, and we thought that was ALOT for the small motor. 430rwtq converts to around 505 engine torque, 505 engine torque is better than many well built 350 cubic inch pushrod engines.
I see at the end of the video he ended up with 451rwtq... Some well built 383 pushrod engines with good compression and a good build would be happy with that. Is the black graph the original graph without mods?
Those 5 liter engines almost have an exotic v8 sound in certain rev ranges.very nice Also. Go for the most n/a power you can. Intake manifold/throttle body, cams. Hell it ain't my money. Go for it. This woukd be a great road course car with all that n/a power

@@scottyhudson1107 the intake manifold is what's holding back the 6.4. It isn't designed to handle much more power up top without sacrificing some torque. Plus the whole car just needs some weight reduction, which will allow them to redesign the cam and manifold to bias towards more top end power without sacrificing off the line punch. Dodge also needs their own hybrid DI/SMPI setup like Ford has here, that alone would probably gain about 30 to 40hp

Mustang lovers, your thoughts please?????
LimpSage well the cold air runs around 300 tune probably runs about the same or near it and the headers ha 1k+ then labor which is a nother 600-1k so your probably pushing 2500-3500 but still ain't bad
headers, xpipe, axle back = around 2800-2900 BY THEMSELVES, plus intake, plus tune, plus install (fuck no im not doing that shit myself) sounds like 3500-4000. defff not 2500 lol
VMP compared all the intake manifold options on the dyno, and yes the Cobra Jet makes a little more on the top end, but the 2018 on is the best bang for the buck over everything else. The stock intake manifold has better torque down low through the mid-range then the Cobra Jet and only falls off something like 500 RPM shorter than the Cobra Jet.

Ford is known for underrating. The 03-04 Terminator was getting 385hp to the wheels!
They're not known for it but they've done it on the 03,04 and this one. Might be too protect the gt350 but it's a different beast. I know a guy that has a whipple on and is pushing 830s on the gt350 and it's ridiculous.
This vid completely sold me on the 2018-2020 mustang GT. When I graduate from nursing school, I’m buying one. Amazing numbers for an NA car. Crazy how fast cars evolve I remember when the new gt500 came out a while back with 500hp on a Supercharged 5.4L. Now these 5.0s can pump out 500 with just a few bolt ons.... Gen 3 coyote is a freakin monster🤙 love it.
You want to be a murse?
@@aggee10 yeah man I’m a nursing student
the front end is sick as. Whoever dislikes it has no taste.
Dang ! I will certainly look at these new 2018s differently from now on I am truly impressed now I can’t even imagine what the new gt500 will do with some bolt ons 👀
Super impressive! My last car a 392 challenger made around 600whp on 7#'s of boost, this a over 500whp @ the tires NA. If i ever get another muscle car it would probably be a newer mustang 5.0 with the 10 speed auto. Had a 2014 5.0 and hated the mt82 transmission.
I love my 6 speed mt82 in my 15 gt performance package #15BLACKMAMBA
THE EXHAUST NOTE ON THAT PULL GOOD GOD THE COYOTE IS A GOD SEND
I would love to see more naturally aspirated mods. I love boost as must as the next guy but everybody does not have the money to blow on a blower or tubro
Dude I’ve been in love with mustangs since I was a kid. Love the content, sweet build.
Hell Yes I want you to put the cj intake on it soon. Take it to the limit one more time! I'm watching and listening and learning what I need to do to my mustang.... great video.... thank you
Take it to the limit.... and beyond!
Its badass how cars these days come fast af already. But dont you guys miss the days where you would put in more work to your car, and 300hp was enough 400 was fast and 500 was really fast.
Hell no... who wants to work for it?
Sorry but your comment make. A little sense to me. You an still put plenty of work into any car. If it was 300/400/500 then what's wrong with working towards 600/700/800..I thought that was the point.
@@BlockchainEazy biggest problem is most drivers don't have the skill to match the power some of these new cars make. You put someone use to put putting around in a 150 hp civic in a 460 hp mustang, and if they aren't careful they'll wind up around a tree, nevermind actually having that to the tire
@Jose Salazar A 1995 Mustang GT weighs almost the exact same as a 2019 Mustang GT.
Fuck no! Those days sucked so much ass... Constantly breaking parts constantly waiting for parts spending thousands to barely hit 12s FUCK those days...
Awesome car! Ford got it Dialed with the new front end.
Love naturally aspirated engines.
You should do the exact same mods to a 10-speed and see how much difference there is.
HP/torque would wouldn’t change much unless there losses through tranny. 0-60 will prob be .5s slower in a manual tho.
@@josephbargo5024 a lot slower than .5
@@itsCusto ideal conditions is 3.9 vs 4.4 I think
I subbed just because you were nice enough to define your acronyms. Nothing worse than trying to follow someone throwing acronyms around without ever defining them.
WHo else turned UP the sound when he said it would be loud? 8)))
No question
I'm smiling while he's smiling and I'm not even in the car 😂😂😂
I got a 2018 GT manual transmission, JLT CAI and Roush X-pipe. With my tune i got 441RWHP! These are next, Love my Mustang!
What were your baseline numbers with the same dyno?
Add the voodoo intake manifold with the matching throttle body and a spacer. THAT would be so SICK!!!
I am turboing my 4.6l 2v and I'll be lucky to get 300 to the wheels. Pretty amazing the new engines make way more power n/a and with a warranty
The front end has actually aged very well
I love how you guys keep it real with us. Nice video 👍🏻.
Keep it NA and just keep making it faster!
Idk how ANYONE could dislike the new mustang headlights... but ofc they do, its the internet :P
Got an ecoboost, but I want a GT someday.
@Jordan Winders yea its a pretty fun daily driver
You guys are the greatest, I’ve been looking for this vid for like 4 years.
Thanks for watching! -Zach

Ricardo Lira I have a Camaro SS 2018 buddy and I loved the video! Actually got me thinking on trading it in for a Mustang.

Lol 140. Ow
Actually no, we're not like mustang guys who only have good things to say about ponys. We can admit this new 5.0 is badass.

Cant even admit when you lose or pay up 😂
Yes! I really want to see all that goes into installing a Cobra Jet intake manifold on that '18
You're the best at what you do Justin. Always look forward to your videos. Love the 18s!
You are too kind sir, as always. Thanks for the continued support! -Justin
Sick as hell, please keep up these videos
Btw you got a badass job
Thanks Chris and I agree- best job ever! :) -Justin
Just purchased my 18 magnetic GT last night so pumped for mods 😬
Your general excitement is great, awesome vid
Ford has gotten so damn good. Might reconsider buying a 135i for this, theyre so affordable too.
Justin’s a real one, so sick!
Just picked up a 2018 GT with 40k miles for 30k. So much fun!
Congrats on the new ride! -Zach
Would love to see what the Bullitt would do with E85 and LTH... already has the GT350 intake, throttle body and manifold... got me thinking...😈
Finally someone that actually test drives the car and scared to push it even if its spinning
please do full bolton with new cobra jet manifold on the 2018, would make a great series😎😎😎
mgerren88 I bought the 18 😎💪🏽
Could you buy me a mustang 😭
killing the gt350!!!!
Those 5 liter engines almost have an exotic v8 sound in certain rev ranges.very nice
Also. Go for the most n/a power you can. Intake manifold/throttle body, cams. Hell it ain't my money. Go for it. This woukd be a great road course car with all that n/a power
Justins being super conservative with the 10-15 horsepower gain by going to a cobrajet setup. I went from a tad over 400whp to 440whp with a ported boss manifold/ported 90mm throttle body & a lightweight flywheel
I feel like i'm being honest. At this power level and with the already very capable '18 intake manifold in place, I don't think the gains would be massive with the CJ installed. I guess we'll have to find out! -Justin
That’s 600hp and 530 ft/lb of tq @ the flywheel that is amazing power NA
I'm a Chevy guy! But this lil ford ain't no joke, ford did good on this Stang 5.0 yeee haaa !🚗💨💨💨 👏👌😎
I’ve heard a K&N filter with the stock box would be good enough as far as the intake goes. Is this true?
Ever find out
bro what tha hell you just made one hell of a mustang that's more impressive if you count the loss of hp to the tires but at the crank you are close to 2010 gt500 horsepower category that's fucking impressive a natural aspirated car that puts out close to 545 to 550hp to the crank with bolt on . thank god we live in america .
Hell yeah brother. -Justin
I love the set up. Any chance of changing the exhaust to a h pipe and corsa touring axle back? Some of us want to keep our hearing.
I’m a big fan of both versions either way. I think in GT350 form the old one looks better but for Ford’s everyday mustang, I like the refresh better!
Would love to see stage 3 N/A cams in there too.
Just got these exact headers and connection pipes for my 2022 mustang gt, just wanted to make sure that the headers would fit and that the connection pipes would fit up to the stock catback. Great video by the way!
Thanks for watching! -Zach
Did y'all record a new 0-60 on it? I'd love to see some numbers at the dragstrip. I mean those gains are nothing to scoff at. Also would upgrading the fuel injectors add even more HP as well or would the gains be negligable.
They never post times because it will show its all bullshit
Yeah till I see some actual real world results i remain skeptical of these claims.
Wow that's basically 600 horsepower at the crank accounting for a 15% drivetrain loss. That is incredible! Making me want to sell my 2018 IS350 and get a Mustang GT !!!
Do itttttt.... :) -Justin
Is there no need to change fuel lines and pump and stuff to use e85?
Anyone ever answer this?
Great video, car, and host. These 2018s are awesome. If I wanted 500+ in my foxbody I’d probably have to start with a 351 at least.
Thanks Joe! -Justin
The new gen 3 coyote engine It can give better results than 6.2 and 6.4 engines and you know who I mean
احمد الريسي without question
My 6.2 is a bit better, but the 5.0 is a really nice engine
Connor W. Is that why 5.0 are faster?
I would really like the the 5.7 and 6.4 to be updated the 6.4 should get at least 500whp stock
WOW!!! Amazing power. Fantastic video and BADASS burnout
Thanks Jay! -Justin
Keep that thing NA !!!!
those wielding job looks really neat. looks better than most wielding job from manufacturers
Now imagine if ford brought back the 5.8l 4v with all the stuff that they are doing to the Coyote the 5.8l would destroy
agreed. they need cubes.
Rumours of a 7.0L V8 in the 2019 Raptor!! I hope they are true!!
Naw fuck it 7.0 flat crank. 😀
flat plane 7.0 would be amazing, it would sound like a fucking thunder.
El_De_La_Lobo pop with its sorry thin ass cylinder walls lol
Great review mann these cars are getting crazier and crazier
Thanks Gustavo and you're right! Its a great time to be a gear head. -Justin
Great hosting and content. I’m just learning this stuff. Keep it up bro.
I'll say it again ,till the of their badge change😀" Ford is Lord "
Have an 18 long tube headers no cats steeda pro flow closed intake and Lund racing e85 tune... I never though I would say I had enough power but literally if you put it to the wood getting on the highway you are st 130 easy before merging... e85 wakes it up and it's like a whole different car.. highly recommend these or similar mods
So if I have an 18 gt with just a roush exhaust setup? What should I go next to achieve max power out of this thing still being NA and no boost. I heard good things ab the CJ manifold. Headers too but my friend says they might have the remove the motor for install
2018 and up is not a 302… it’s a 305. 302 is 4.9 which is the 1st and 2nd gen coyote. The newest models are actually 5 liters.
It’s actually 307
SMH 😂who cares 😂
That thing sounds absolutely INSANE.... #Damn I am sold on the 2018 motor
Really great video !!! I have a silly question . While the car was on the dyno why didn't you make a pull with the mufflers not bypassed ? How much of a horsepower loss would there have been ?
Man these 18s are growing on me, I got a VMP supercharged 2015 Mustang GT and one thing I do miss being NA is stop light to stop light, shit 500 would be perfect NA match that with that 10 speed auto and God damn!!!!
American Muscle for Real!!! While we all know, there is no replacement for displacement, it's clear that technology has made that an obsolete statement. Those three mods cost about $2500. Try doing that with an BMW, Audi, Mercedes, Fiat? You'd pay huge. I have been in the market and watching the Ford Mustang evolution for 2 years now and I'm so close to pulling the trigger on a fully loaded GT, but I have a feeling 2020 is going to be the year for American Muscle car, specifically the Mustang. Mustang lovers, your thoughts please?????
There might be a hybrid engine in the mustang in 2020. Rule of thumb is dont buy first gen of new tech, pull the trigger on the 18gt brotha. ;)
Bruh those 3 mods def not about 2500 lol
LimpSage well the cold air runs around 300 tune probably runs about the same or near it and the headers ha 1k+ then labor which is a nother 600-1k so your probably pushing 2500-3500 but still ain't bad
headers, xpipe, axle back = around 2800-2900 BY THEMSELVES, plus intake, plus tune, plus install (fuck no im not doing that shit myself) sounds like 3500-4000. defff not 2500 lol
APR has been doing similar things for VW/Audi for a while now...
can you do a review on 2015 and 2018 mustang gt . i want one but not to sure which one is better. thanks
I'm jealous of 5.0 owners. My Mach 1 is making 500 rwhp and it's a blast but I needed a blower to do it.
Well. Your Mach 1 is about 400 lbs lighter :)
Welp. I now know my next purchase
Jason Wingate two grannys 👌🏼
I have a 2017 gt manual with a ported 2018 gt intake manifold, Borla catback, jlt intake, flex fuel tune and e85 😉
