I have incorporated your lifting techniques of 1-3 sets each exercise and 8 sets total per body part of what you like until almost failure and it has really helped my gains! I'm 31 years old and have been lifting off and on since I was 16. I haven't had this level of growth since I first started. Keep it up, Sam. You are indeed the Bob Ross of the fitness industry.

Since i started watching Sam 3 months ago, i started my bulk, being 6'3 80 kg guy with alot of training exp, but not any goal in mind. Sam put that goal in my mind i want to hit 100 kg, currently sitting on 91 kg. Thank u Sam for the motivation, lets all keep staying hard !
The fact that Sam is throwing the stack around and still gently lowering it after going to failure is a lesson to all the ego lifters slamming weights down after each set
The most interesting thing I’ve noticed about this cut cycle is I can tell his strength is a little impaired due to the calorie deficit. Not that it’s significantly impaired, but I can tell as he goes deeper in the sets he is reducing the workload compared to his bulk cycle This is to be expected, of course. I’m interested to see how the intensity of his later sets changes when he goes back to the Bulk cycle

I started back working out because of your videos back in February and I’m down to 168 this morning from a starting point of 210. Just wanted to say thank you.
Have to say, been lifting since I was 16, now 33. For the most part of that time was serious training with the odd spell of just going through the motions and turned myself from a skinny fat 165lb’r to a 185’r at roughly 15%. Post covid lost my fire as all the gyms were closed and I got used to being a lazy fuck, blew up 30lbs and fkn hated how ill- disciplined I had gotten (and fat). Seems as just when I was fanning that old flame, found Sam’s channel. I tell ya it was like throwing petrol on a teeny spark and here I am…. 27lbs down, 17% BF and happy with it too, ready to begin my own winter arc come November just like times of old. Have to say…. Feels good to feel like me again and getting the giddies knowing I’m about to blow up once more, but this time… like the old days, with as Sam refers to as BEEF 😂 Keep doing you big man… love the channel… just so god damn refreshing 💪 From Ireland ☘️☘️

To your point Sam, you've got youth, the mindset, and the genetics (and maybe a "bonus" multiplier in there) to have the capacity to push hard every set. Just to preface, I do think people can stand to go harder at the gym, and going towards failure can really help gauge if you're using the right weight or just doing junk volume. However, for most people, eking out those almost-to-failure (or beyond) sets consistently can really increase the chance for injury. The scaling of effort investment to muscle growth is pretty bad towards failure, so most of us can't take advantage of it like you can. It's better (safer?) for the regular person to be in the gym, leave 2-3 in the tank, and make it to the next session than get that 5% extra growth potential that can just be accrued over time. I'm not saying you should change anything you're doing, 'cause it's good fun to watch you lift, just putting out there some potential reasoning for not going balls to wall every set. When you get older those tweaks can become tears real quick and then you're losing out on muscle in a worse way.

For progress. You need to bulk and cut in small decreases/increases over time. I don’t recommend y’all bulk or cut by a big caloric increase or decrease. Slow progress is better than fast progress, why? Simple, because as mr.Sulek mentioned, no one’s truly all knowing, so when we progress too fast or not at all! Then alas comes the result that we lose sight of what’s important. If you cut or bulk by a lot, you’ll see a extreme result that will lead to catastrophic consequences.

Do dorian yates split, is better, warm up 2 sets. set 1: 12-15 reps. Set 2: 10-12 reps. 3rd set 8-10 reps to extreme failure
