His workouts are extremely effective. Lifting heavy enough to recruit maximum muscle fibers, requires going heavy enough requires doing some lesser range of motion reps and momentum at the end. Over-critical don't get it. When you train that way, you get adjusted to lifting heavy during the whole workout, unlike people who don't.

Love watching Sam videos, and it's very nice to see him doing some slow and controlled movements with less weight makes me feel better about not being able to throw a stack around all day.
He lifts heavy enough to do lesser range of motion on the last few reps which is the same as doing drop sets and at that point the muscle fibers are fully engaged and get trained more than they would if going lighter and overly strict.
He normally trains by himself. Doesn't hurt to get tips here and there from former pros regardless if Sam uses it or not in his routine/future workouts.
Exactly. He already has it figured out. He goes heavy enough to recruit maximum muscle fibers, they lesser range of motion reps He does at the end are just like doing drop sets. They are very effective.

Hey Sam, that was the seated cable extension exercise that I was talking about in the comments when you were asking suggestions for cable tri machines.
What's your theory on "ego lifting"? Mike Israetel did a back workout with Alpha Destiny where he was extremely strict with form and on barbell rows he worked up to rowing about 150lbs however Sam will use about 315 and be a little looser with form but he is rowing twice as much weight. My theory is rowing 315 with a little bit of loose form is going to build a better back than rowing 150lbs being as strict as a robot because the best muscle building exercises are always the ones that allow you to handle the most weight so there's obviously some value in going heavy. Do you think a little ego lifting can be beneficial?
I watched that video and it was ridiculous how much form police those guys were being. Alex even mentions how the resistance curve of the exercise is smoothed out by a bit of swing. Imo, Alex would've gotten 10X better development by swinging and focusing on strict form during the eccentric. I think it depends on the exercise though. Curls don't require absurd swinging, and it can seriously hurt someone if they ego lift during bench, deads, etc. Most back exercises work really well with it though.
@@themonsoon117 I agree I know Ronnie Coleman used to row 500lbs with some swinging but I just can't imagine him building the same back using 225 being super strict. I feel like they are so focused on form its hindering them to some degree. I'm not saying people should be reckless but I feel like Sam uses the right amount of controlled ego lifting to use heavier weight while still making the muscle do most of the work while not getting injured.
He'll yeah! I'm really hyped to what's to come with future episodes with team HOSSTILE, Sam Sulek, and the rest of the HOSSTILE team! I'd like a full chest day with HOSSTILE team, Sam, and Samson!
