Why are they all going over it so close together? That is an accident waiting to happen.
Probably b/c that’s the best “safest” place to get behind the swell. Remember the sea floor dictates wave behavior. You can see the wave breaking in frame, but where they crossed it was only a swell (albeit a giant one).
Just a normal big thicc day at teahupo’o. Still one of the craziest big and scary fast waves I’ve ever seen.
And hardly a life preserver/vest between the lot of them

Nice the way they can get boats up so close to big giant waves like that once again demonstrating Teahupoo's beautiful outer reef. Actually being over a mile away from shore on a surfboard would have me a little uneasy. Rescue boaters must be great to have. Maybe scare away sharks. ( :
