From an old surfer.... the most mesmerizing, most beautiful, and MOST TERRIFYING thing on earth I have ever seen. To the fellows with balls of titanium, I salute you !
At the age of around 10, my parents and I switched from the south coast of france to Hossegor (south west) for our summer vacations. There i learn to surf (I'm not very good at it but I enjoy it a lot). Being a place that holds one of the surfworld tour event, there's a lot of surf culture there. I remember that in a surf bar (the rockfood), there was this giant picture of a wave that I just couldn't comprehend at the time. It was teahuppoo, its still one of the first answer on google image where you see a few surfer on the foreground and then wave in a circular shape wich sucks the water in the background. To this day I just cannot understand the people who ride these wave, I would be terrified just watching from a boat on a safe zone. Kudos for the vieo it was awesome
I dont surf and most likely won't ever surf but I've become addicted to these videos...its just unbelievable the power these waves have ,and the bravery (or insanity) of the surfers
Totally!. I'm pretty sure the surfer is a chopes local and I can't help but wonder if any words were said once they both were spit outta that barrel, like when he looks back at the bodyboarder. I would hope the bodyboarder at least expressed his apology since the surfer was inside but Ya know they both made it and I would hope that they were just stoked on that!.

Awesome video, perfect music too. I don't know much if anything about surfing, but I have experienced a Wipeout myself, itty bitty tiny compared what these guys are experiencing. On vacation in Surfers Paradise I got to try surfing, gave up getting on the board and ended up doing body surfing. I was perhaps 100m from the beach when I suddenly stepped on a sandbank. Standing with water just below my waist, I turned towards the beach, looking for my friend. I suddenly noticed the water being sucked away, down to my ankles. I turned around and saw a wave towering over me. It smashed me into the sandbank and rolled me probably 50m towards the beach. Tumbling round and around. I was blind by the water, flailing my arms like mad in full panic, thinking I was about to drown. A man came to my Rescue and literary lifted me up of the water, it was only like 60cm deep. The weight of that tiny wave was unbelievable. I was thrown around like a ragdoll,. My chest hurt like hell and I had lots of tiny cuts and scratches. I can't even imagine what these guys "feel".
I'm not a surfer but I can tell total commitment is required to stand a chance of making it out alive, that and a helluva lot of love from the ocean Gods.
Super awesome video!! The music was super awesome too!. At the 5:20 mark, Everaldo Pato Teixeira was pulling in from the jetski and I'm watching his line and I'm thinking if it were me, I would make a wider line towards the shoulder so I don't get stuck in that big ass insane fricken pit! And I'm watching this guy do the complete opposite, instead he starts fading deep and I was like wtf? That takes some serious balls to pit like that!! Great film!!!
Looks like one of those wild horses that can't be rode. Even the tow ins look like they're closing out. A hold your breath contest. I think I'll just set on the beach today. 😵💫 2X-treme. Great shots.

Another great posting from the Terror Vault. You never disappoint. I get that there aren't rules in surfing. Waterman love doing anything associated with the ocean. But kite surfing......this wave ????? I have a feeling I'd be really upset if I was trying to negotiate this wave & I got tangled up in someone's sail. I know none of these guys are intending to hurt each other, but if you're jeapordizing other people's life (cuz this wave is a killer) you should re-think things.
Anybody who's taken a bad wipeout on a normal wave is shuddering watching this. Just unreal. Usually we just see the waves that are made, here we see the price paid. Courage unsurpassed.
