Back in action with a heavy video drop! The channel angles of the extreme paddle session that went down at teahupoo, enjoy guys, this was one of the heaviest ive been apart of with people willing to go on anything and die for the glory of changing what is possible!
Nate, that was a really really heavy session. What got me about this day was how difficult the drops looked, so steep and so fast? I'd like to hear your thoughts on comparable drops, Choppes against Pipe against others and let us know what you have to do to make them? I'm getting too old to handle those wipeouts but would hand in hand ask about how heavy are those wipe outs are after not making a drop?? Nic puts these little credits in the corner when someone rides the wave so you know who it is, found myself asking myself " who is that charger" on a few of these... Want to see that MD deep tow one!! Respect to you and all who gave it a go out there this day! Aloha
@@shrimpflea In an ideal situation that would be great but often there are too many unwanted sounds you have going on in the background, especially when people are around. Cursing, commentary, etc... All too often the ocean sounds more like static than water.
@@shrimpflea like @3:33 just the entire time ? sure if that’s what floats ur boat. i’m just here for the boogie Boarding. these guys ruin the waves by standing up every time they drop in.
Most important factor here is total respect for each other and the waves... I think Nathan's face at the end shows such humbleness about what he just experienced.
OK, so first things first...... THAT WAS EPIC!!! The intensity of the music perfectly matched the intensity of the waves and the surfers riding them. Second of all.... glad no one got hurt! That wave's hydraulics is mind blowing. The wave comes in from such deep water that the draw of the previous wave is pushing it back up. It really is a freight train rolling over at 30 mph. Ya'll got some big ole' brass ones on ya. Keep up with the intensity and stay safe. We all want to see more and more of this. Ty for your shared journey.
@@orion8829 I suppose it could be hydraulics if the wave breaks on you and squishes you into the reef, then rolls you across it like grating cheese for dinner. Liquid is not compressible, why hydraulics work and air in the system messes it up. Air is compressible, why a barrel spits and brakes get spongy with air in the lines.
Loved the shot of the Redbull ski being chased down by the wave, it's good that these bits are captured as well as the surfing. Awesome job and incredible surfing from you and the rest of the fellas out there.
This is it right here. This is why we’re all here watching. That story of Matahi sitting out the back for hours waiting for the wave of the day was rad to hear the locals are nuts. Von froth is a charger that line up sounded so heavy. If you say its intense and heavy it is. I thrive off this it makes me want to push myself harder and harder in bigger surf. It’s literally your going or not there is no in between. Nate your a madman and a absolute legend I can’t wait to see more keep charging brada ya buddy 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💪🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
This is so well edited, the music matching the intensity of the surf, the photography faultless , the textures and colour, and drama, a friggen feast for the eyes. Deserves a movie or something.
The music you guys selected for the wave riding sessions, really captured the energy and spectacle perfectly. Probably the best music I’ve seen paired with wave riding in any video. And yes; the local boys were very present in the video.
HEY ...Once again, Just love this stuff..so fun to just chill and watch you guy's rip..Keeps me young at heart..Much Love..Be safe out there, stay young!!! 🤙
I'm constantly impressed by your crew of surfers charging hard .I no I couldn't take that on.but I am 60 so respect men.and nathan your charisma, story telling and surfing gets me amped..
Nathan great surfing ! Love your humbleness and how your Aloha is gifting others. Can you share your Sunglasses brand in this Video? Very cool and look like they really take care of your eyes. Blessing my brotha!
That wave is crazy insane!! All who attempt it make it, don't make it or just full on charge are bad ass in my book. Great footage Nathan!!! Unreal and beautiful wave and island.
5:54 - you didn't count that as a "make"? Looked like a pretty solid Bodysurf ride. You were tracking pretty well in that one, for a while. Is Mike Stewart jealous?
Such amazing footage. The level of skills you guys have to ride waves of this mangitude is incredible. You make it look easy. And is not!! Thanks for the show.
The broken board st the end and yes, high performance ,at its highest level, job well done boys setting a good example for young people the world over . Over and out
Thanks Nate... . For retriggering memories from my first taste of Tahiti in July '78.... Stayed with the family of Giles Peni... Almost married his sister.... Time of growth for me Hinano Beer, rotisserie beef and bolilo rolls almost every day for lunch and dinner.... Cool very very cool.... So thanks again for the rewind.... Perfect timing bro... Ty.... Michael McKenna Jr... Lake Forest, Socal... 😮
superb editing. music fits so so well. slo-mo shots of inside the wave are out of this world. outstanding work. hats off to everyone daring to pull into this monster.
Your living a great life Nathan Florence, you and all the crew charge it hard and I can see that your humble and thankful for the life you lead, and we love tuning in to watch. A big thank you to the locals for sharing such a beautiful place and THE break that is Teahupoo. Hi from the west coast of Australia 🇦🇺
Yes! It takes balls to surf Teahupoo, a lot of balls! The Florence brothers are special people when it comes to insanity surf! I've surfed gnarly waves on the big island, but this beyond gnarly! Kudos guys, respect from the surfing world is due! Aloha
The Bodyboarders must be bummed. Usually West swells were their domain. Taking off at the pinch and then hop scotching car sized foam balls takes alot of skill. I am also going to say alot of luck too, because it seemed apparent there were many bailouts and little serious injury. Thank you Nathan. I was thinking while watching your Lookback scene that you have the same initials as Nathan Fletcher. Remember his epic Teahupoo wipeout? Bon Voyage.
AWESOME Video of the Entry and Boat angles from Behind, but Every oneloves a happy Ending, got to show the Finish Line Mo Bettah . Those was some CliffHangahs.
Powerful wave and session for everyone…so glad it’s filmed and we get to see what went down. My only request for the editing would be to identify every surfer…I had no idea…was guessing on each ride. A two second viewed name in the same corner of the frame, either the start or ending, but not both. I thought Ivan got the best ride, if it was him, and yellow trunks was awesome. Mahalo.
This is my favorite video of your yet Nathan, and I've been following you since the beginning. Nice work Nathan. Tell your wife she's a great videographer. I'm sure she probably knows Hehe.
Incroyable cette vidéo ... la puissance de cette vague ... le danger ... purée j'ai eu des frissons et revécu des émotions fortes, merci ! La bande son est juste parfaite
Seeing the vantage point of the inside of that wave cutting left/riding inside the wave, it's fuckin amazing just knowing for a 100% fact I'll never be able to ever see that viewpoint from my own two eyes in person, being able to see it through your guys eyes is the next best thing and I'm thankful for you filming and recording those sorts of vantage points for folks like myself to be able to get in on the action just a little bit. The view of the mist over the mountains and that massive wall of water bearing down. Total waking dream bro, thanks Nathan and stay safe sir!
well done - although I think I prefer to enjoy in the safety, warmth and security of my home :))) It looked like everyone was jet lagged, drowsy and chilled (as in cold) - thank you for posting - all my best wishes for many more safe and adventurous travels!!
That was a sweet super man slide though. This wave is just a freak. It doesn't even look like a wave. It looms more like the ocean is just folding over on itself. It's just insane looking the bigger it gets. Awesome day you had great paddle and tow in. Than you had Vonn Rupp and and his crew get vertical checking out the sky in their boat. Crazy. RLTW 3/75

Almost makes Pipeline look like a joke.
Best surfing content on RUclips easily. Heavy sets, heavy music, great GoPro shots, and that look back on Tahiti a couple times. Perfect vid!
Excellent all around. Other channels blast you with unnecessary loud and terrible music. Yours simply fits in.
Music not needed at all. Wish it was just the sound of the waves and people.
