She has one of the coolest voices. One thing I've noticed throughout the years is that she pronounces EVERY SINGLE SYLLABLE of every word. There's no slurring, no blending of words, etc. and it makes her so naturally articulate, crystal clear, and easy to listen to.

The character Ellen Ripley which Sigourney Weaver played will stay in the history of movie-making as one of the most prominent iconic role ever performed by an American actress. Sigourney Weaver have achieved something greater than her life in the ALIEN & ALIENS. I love this woman so much.
Matlin was really good, but Weaver nailed Aliens. I mean the role, haha. She was even better in the sequel than in the first movie. It was a layered, emotional performance and badass at the same time. And she should have won for Working Girl as well.
Sigourney Weaver was 74 years old just a few days ago. She’s 36 years old in this interview, more than half her lifetime ago and yet the vid, her gorgeous fresh faced makeup, the outfit looks timeless and as fresh as the day I saw it in the mid ‘80s. She looked so stunning here, Sean Young (Bladerunner) was being seriously challenged for the title of most gorgeous Sci-fi actress as far as my raging hormones were concerned 😂 it’s bizarre how we perceive time as we get older, so near yet so far gone.
Simply one of the most underrated screen beauties in Hollywood history, not just in the 1980s when she was an all conquering screen actor. And the legendary film critic Bobbie Wygant is still alive and an incredible 96 years old and turning 97 this November 22nd (2023). Wish her a Happy Birthday. Two legends from my 1980s childhood.
I saw Alien at a North Miami beach theater when it first came out. I had no knowledge of the movie before viewing it for the first time. The audience stood and applauded and cheered at the end. Never experienced such a response before. One movie and she became a major star.
Look for the word Class in the dictionary and you'll see her photo. What a classy, gorgeous, intelligent, elegant, well spoke lady. Not to mention a great actress.
What a wonderful little interview! It's always so shocking how thoroughly Sigourney is NOT Ripley when she is herself, but her insights into the character are legendary and it just makes you appreciate all the more what a fantastic actor she is.
She reminds me of Jamie Lee Curtis. They both have deep voices for a woman, and they both have elongated faces. Plus, they both belong to successful horror franchises. This is a really good interview.
Of course you have. We don't just see beauty in her. She's 1 of those women with character, class and charisma. A unique rarity in Hollywood and in the world in general. As an actress, simply magistral.
According to the talentless franchise wrecker Kathleen Kennedy (LucasFilm) there haven't been any strong kick ass female lead characters in Blockbuster movies.Something she is proud of correcting? Kennedy needs to wind her leather neck in an go and watch the Alien films, Terminator 1and 2.Halloween.Even way back to Doris Day in Calamity Jane to name a few.Nobody even questioned the plausibility of a female lead in an action movie back then because it felt natural and not forced like modern efforts that try to ram an agenda down people's throats in a clumsy manner.SW is pure class.
My favorite actress by far. I love her in all the Alien movies, Galaxy Quest, Ghostbusters, Gorillas in the Mist, as well as her numerous smaller roles in movies like Avatar, Cabin in the Woods, and Paul.
A good insight in to why Ripley was so very cool because Sigourney depicted her not only as unwilling but having to dig very, very deep to do what she did and even though I was a boy who loved Arnie and Sly, she helped me relate to the seeming impossibility of fighting such incredible horror. Ripley was a very immersive character. Super-immersive for an action hero.

She was the perfect choice to play the first female badass I'd ever seen on film. A mix of beautiful feminity mixed with an underlying masculine, authoritative energy that commanded respect when she spoke. Still couldn't believe the studio did not want to pay her 1 million dollars for Aliens considering how much they knew they would make off this sequel simply off the back of the original which did HUGE business but that was the 80's.
