When I learned that it was Sirius, I lost it. I adore the Afterman storyline and always thought that Sirius had found Merri when he ventured back into the Keywork. Mind=blown.

I just saw an interview the other day with Claudio and he said that his grandfather had recently passed away and that he was the inspiration for Sirius Amory so he wanted to bring him back as an homage to his grandfather. I also saw a theory on The Fence subreddit that Our Love could be from Sirius' POV and that maybe he found Meri and was able to make amends.
Anyways I too am absolutely thirsty for the next album even though it won't be out for 2 years at least. Vaxis 2 is probably the most varied and still concise album they've put out. I've listened to it maybe 50 times since it came out and the song that I CANNOT get enough of is Ladders of Supremacy. It's the best song on the album with the other 12 tied for second place. Funnily enough when Naianasha came out as a single I thought it was good but probably my least favorite single that they had released but after hearing it follow Ladders it just clicked and it's probably the song that gets stuck in my head more often than not.
Oh I love that theory on Our Love! I actually had a similar theory that A Disappearing Act I’d from Sirius’ POV.
I also love Ladders of Supremacy! One of my favorite tracks, the whole album is fantastic!!

I don't really agree with the "Our Love" take. To me, I feel like that song represents Nia and Nos kinda reaffirming their love after all the stress their relationship has been through. They've had to deal with sort of being in a rocky place brought on by the stressors of their son being catatonic and having no hope of healing him, with the addition of a bit of jealousy coming from Nos over Gob. I'd say I sum most of it up in the main lyrics "Our love won't surrender to the odds up against us."
“All Mother, we’re free” - that gave me chills lol so damn cool. Thank you so much for going over this. I haven’t had a chance to read the book yet and was just dying to get the story details.

I did the math, if one week in the keywork = 547 days, then a year in the keywork is approximately 77 years. If we approximate that Sirius spent 40 years in the keywork that would be about 3120 years that has passed outside of the keywork.

I knew bits and pieces of Amory lore from intermittent Googling over the years but always struggled to keep everything straight. I took notes this time around while I watched them. First saw Coheed in Nyack, NY in the Fall of 2001 with Further Seems Forever and Rufio. Been a die-hard fan ever since. I am a HUGE comic book geek so not only do we get impeccable music, but we get amazing comics that delve into the universe! Keep up the good work! Hearts!

Thank you for this series! Coheed & Cambria are one of the two bands that massively shaped my early teenage years, and shaped my musical trajectory afterwards. They mean so much to me, but for one reason or another I have never interfaced with the Amory Wars side of things. This series has been super helpful for getting an idea of what everything is about without spoiling every detail. I look forward to reading these comics some day soon! I'm seeing C&C live in concert for the first time ever this coming Saturday, and I wanted to elevate my understanding of the story to commemoratet the occasion. Thanks for being a part of my journey with this band! Wow that was waaaay sappier than I intended it to be, oops!

Wow, I didn't realize the new story was so deep, clever, and interesting. I just saw them live for the 5th time (and it was hands down their highest quality performance I've seen) but I think it would have been even more emotionally impactful had I watched your video first, so thanks for these videos!
I think the Quintillion Speaker he “came out of” WAS his Entity form. It looks so similar to the art of his suit from after man, and I wonder if that’s the form he took when he was in the keywork.

If a week to Sirius was 758 days, and he was around 40 when he entered, and say he's in his early sixties when he comes back, that's at least 2000 years that have passed in Heaven's Fence since the events of No World for Tomorrow. Fucking. Epic.

Also, it makes the reintroduction of the Prise that much more astounding! Between that and Sirius coming back, I think Claudio (IRL) might be gearing up for a reunification of the stories. Maybe Vaxis can be the new "Claudio" (in universe) and do what the previous one couldn't do; reunite The Keywork, but with an understanding of the keywork entities such that they aren't tortured souls, but willing participants

So I just wanted to throw my hat in the ring for some lore stuff. I always kinda felt that the quintillion speakers were more of an amalgamation of many keywork entities. We also know that many souls in the keywork are "unfulfilled" souls, like domino, holly wood, etc. I also think I read somewhere that Sirius never returned from his mission to save his wife, so I think he may have died and became an unfulfilled keywork entity. I think Vaxis is unique in that he can pull these entities back into the universe from these quintillion speakers. So, what if he were to come across other speakers that had other characters from the past stories. That makes all of the killgannons up for grabs, Jesse, etc. That also stands to reason that some old villains also could make an appearance. With Claudio saying that these 5 albums are the axis by which the entire amory wars revolves, seeing old faces will kinda be in line with that. (Hence why it has Vaxis being the main character for everything. 5 albums: V and axis of the story:axis = Vaxis) all in all, this story has been incredible so far and I can't wait for more to come. Love the video and keep them coming.

Just by the music, The Final Cut sorta leads me to think of a great violence followed by a serene environment with confusion throughout.
So in this story the mother and father characters are desperately trying to wake their child up from this coma or suspended animation
As opposed to the original story were the mother and father characters (coheed and cambria) were trying to kill their children and when they failed they were taken captive by Mayo who demanded Co&Cam be heavily sedated until they arrive in Paris on silent earth
It’s almost their telling us the same story but in a format more confusing than the movie “Momento”
Great vid. Vaxis 2 might be my favorite album from Coheed at this point. Every song is extremely fun and high energy. I went to see them in DC two days ago and it was amazing. Claudio always seems to be able to bottle lighting.

First of all, love your videos, especially the Afterman ones as REALLY struggled with the story behind them without your help. Secondly, though I think you've missed a key fact from Vaxis part 1: 'The Unheavenly Creatures' about the Dark Sentencer prison planet. It quite clearly states in the lyrics to that song that this place is part of the REMAINS of what was Heavens Fence and that HOSS has since been using these different remains for various purposes, including MINING their centers with slave gangs, one of which Nia as 'Sister Spider' manages before Nostrand finds her in Vaxis 1 along with the existence of a 'Window' in its depths too, centers of which contain 'Quintillian Speakers', or as we now realize from Vaxis part 2, KEYWORK ENERGY. As for Sirius Amory, I don't think he's been doing anything in the intervening time but has been suspended in safety along with what remains of his spaceship AI 'All Mother' in one of the Key Entities. HOSS clearly have also heard legends of the Keywork and its power but hasn't quite joined the dots together (but who know through trial and error that energy can indeed 'resurrect' them, which is why (SPOILER) in the epilogue even though their armada has been destroyed they see the existence of a window like Vaxis who can actually SURVIVE contact with a Quintillian Speaker as a sign of hope for their own plans), while Candelaria, who, as a (SPOILER) 'vampiric' presence as head of the Liars Club, draining its young recruits pulled in by its image of unadulterated illicit PLEASURE of their literal 'blood' is implied to be VERY, VERY old (symbolized by the Egyptian sarcophagus style appearance he and his guards have), probably even then HOSS themselves, and so REMEMBERS the Prise and the Keywork, and so as a tool to control HOSS, was also possibly planning to use this one he was going to smuggle into their 'Seed' base as a weapon to control them. Just my thoughts, but the story of Vaxis (or Claudio and Condra's new son same aged Atlas), along with Claudio (as Nostrand here) and Nia (Chondra) is VERY much a continuation of the Amory Wars, so its no surprise really that such fundamental parts of it like the Keywork energy, Key Entities, and the Prise shouldn't return also. who knows: in Vaxis part 3, we may EVEN get some continuing existence of something from Claudio, Coheed, Cambria, and others in those first Amory Wars, and possibly even the Mages (and Tri Mages), within the Keywork as Entities TOO, thanks to the final Harrowing of 'No world For Tomorrow'? We'll just see, but CLEARLY Vaxis as a child and growing adult in the remaining three albums of this planned series (and whatever hints are planted when the 'No World For Tomorrow' comics are eventually written) will be the key to bridging these two, separate by millennia, sets of stories together. Whatever, it's going to be a VERY interesting journey, with your invaluable help here of course, in the next probable ten years (which would take Vaxis/Atlas up to teenage years, much like Claudio in 'Second Stage Turbine') finding out.

To clear up the part about Vaxis 1 and the prison planet, what I meant to say was that in Vaxis 1, I wasn't sure if those plants were a part of the Heaven's fence of IKKSE3 and onward or if it was part of the nine planets that broke off of the Keywork in SSTB (I don't think I explained this right in this video). But, I agree with what you were saying in the beginning. Especially with the addition of Vaxis 2. Can't wait to see where the story goes! Thanks for watching and sharing your theories!

Been listening to both vaxis albums a lot lately..in hindsight, there are so many musical and lyrical hints that it's all part of the same story. They use a lot of similar musical motifs (clearly on purpose), and occasionally, a lyrical motif (less clear), which i originally though was just a nice nod to the fans, but knowing what i know now, were clearly meant to be clues

I'm visually impaired so I can't read the comics for myself so these videos of you explaining the whole storyline are a huge help to me. I discovered your channel while looking for explanations of the emiry wars and vaxis I either last year or the year before. I saw that you had other videos for other bands and I think I watched a few but I completely forgot about your channel! Today I was searching for explanations for this album and as soon as I saw your face I immediately remembered that I had seen your videos before and liked them. I subscribed before composing this message so next time I won't forget! I'm also a fan of Mastodon and iron maiden and I think a few other bands you are a fan of and have videos on. I'm definitely going to check some of your other videos to see which ones I've missed. Again, thank you so much for helping people like me experience a little bit of the storyline from the comics! @@JJMetalhead do you like avantasia? That's the first band that came to mind for me. Most, if not all of their albums are concept albums. I would love to see you do a video on their album titled the mystery of time. They have so many good ones that really, any one you choose to do a video on would be great. On the off chance that you haven't listened to the band before, I'm sure there's a pretty big chance that you will like them based on what other bands you like come on at least from what I've noticed. You have a varied taste in metal and rock, and that helps!

@@JJMetalhead awesome. The first two albums go together and they're called metal Opera 1 and 2. Then there's the scarecrow trilogy which starts with the album called the scarecrow. After that trilogy comes The mystery of time which is a standalone if I remember correctly, or maybe the next album after that is the sequel. I honestly can't remember. You can have the very least check their albums on Wikipedia and you should be able to glean some info on which ones are connected and which ones aren't. I think the very last one is a standalone and I think it has a looser concept compared to something like the scarecrow. At the very least, I hope you enjoy listening to their albums. Their sound changes a bit from album to album, kind of like coheed so if you don't like something right away don't write them off completely.
I don't know how familiar you are with the band, but it is actually a super group. Tobias, the lead singer, created the band and he composes all of the music and lyrics and everything, and he invites singers from other bands to sing in the album with him. Usually when there are multiple singers in a song each person is portraying a different character. The band is symphonic metal so I think there's a chance you'll like them. Just for the hell of it, you should listen to a few songs from their very first album and then compare it to something like this scarecrow or the mystery of time and notice the change and sound. Window of the Waking Mind is so damn good! It feels so different from Unheavenly Creatures but it also feels like it makes sense as a part 2. Some of those songs really take me back to classic Coheed

It’s funny you ask about that song because it’s the one track on the album that I have no idea how it ties into the concept! Haha I think heard Claudio say in an interview that that song was originally written around the time of Vaxis 1 but it didn’t fit with the rest of the album so it got cut. So it could be about Nos and Nia’s relationship when the were on the rocks back in vaxis 1.

Just found your channel. Thanks for the explaining the story! I absolutely love the new album and it’s right into a top 3 Coheed album for me. Best songs IMO are Beautiful Losers, Love Murder One, Ladders, Cut the Cord and The title track. Just saw them in Toronto last night. It was a fun show and they sounded great but the set list wasn’t my favourite. I just think they played too many singles/poppy songs like Blood Red Summer, Favor House Atlantic, Blood and Running Free. I’d rather hear songs like Ladders of Supremacy, Three Evils, Gravemakers and some of the Afterman Tunes or some other deeper cuts. But overall it was a great show!

I personally think it would be cool if the Entity would be Sentry the Defiant. Since Sirius had helped him pass over to Samaritaine and get away from Vic the Butcher. Like maybe in his pursuit of Meri, Sentry tried to help him as Sirius did and they were captured somehow. I also have a theory that the containment units were created by Wilhelm Ryan in some attempt to continue control of Keywork energy and now they're held as rare relics by the post Fence civilization.
LOVE your theory about Ryan and the containment units! I can definitely see that happening. And it would be cool for Sentury to come back!

I'd like to believe heavens fence is actually a parallel universe and the energy of the keywork is acting like a door between it and this universe. Kind of the same way how the world's were taken originally but now that the crowing may have destroyed the integrity of the fence the energy could be randomly showing up kind of throwing up remnants from that place. Just a different interpretation but I like thinking at some point the crowing will come through one possibly with ambelinas body.

Yeah there were selling out of stuff quick! I had early entry and they were already sold out of both the candelaria mask and the sister spider mask by the time they got there. Hopefully they will come out with more after the tour.

Hey say. if i could suggest an awesome concept album for you that i feel is this generation's version of The Wall. Vektor's "Terminal Redux" album. Itd be awesome to hear your theories or thoughts on that albums story. It doesnt help that the lead vocalist reminds me of Claudio visually and bears some strong writing chops akin to him. But story wise? Vaxis Act II is solid. Probably more concrete and action packed than Act I and easily for me to follow. But musically i find myself revisiting Act I the most

@@JJMetalheadTerminal Redux is definitely worth it. Musically it is one of those metal albums that is so strong that you have to read the lyrics. The story for it is awesome. one dude started writing a comic for it but never finished back in 2016.
