    In this video we take a look at the Night Cat Lay Flat Hammock System in the full Hammock configeration - The Night Cat Lay Flat Hammock has several configerations one of which is a bivvy/tent which makes it a very versatile system when going into the unknown.
    Below I have left a link to Night Cats website where you will find a wide range of camping equipment: nightcat.com/
    Also I have left links to my social media although you can find me by searching for Wilderness Adventures UK.

    I know I won't be getting one of these. To much faff! I have the DD Hammocks Frontline XL, Amok Draumr XL, Haven XL Safari and some regular gathered end hammocks and it looks like they are all better than this one.
    Appreciate the demonstration! Thank you for sharing.👍

    • @WildernessAdventuresUK
      @WildernessAdventuresUK  Год назад +2

      You don't need one of these, You have enough! 😂
      Yes I have a snugpack jungle hammock, hammock is arguably easier to set up but when you factor in a tarp and (most important to me) not sleeping on my back, I prefer this one, I'd love to Try out an Amok tho!
      Thanks for the comment bud!

      this one looks like you can use whatever sleeping pad you want, compared to the haven. It also looks like it will do better in heavy weather as a tent on the ground, compared to the haven, with the support poles and some modified attachment/ tarp anchores.

      Id love to hear what you think of the haven safari. I love everything i've seen about it so far. But since you have other awesome hammocks, tell me which you believe is the most comfortable and has nice features. i certainly like that the haven has the line on the inside which is supposedly rated for 35lbs. seems like a good place to put my large backpack. also hear its pretty surable... ideal since i leave my hammock up year round generally.

    • @Bushcraftandknives
      @Bushcraftandknives 2 месяца назад

      @@DaSauceDatsBossmy experience so far is that the Haven tent Safari is a very nice, but very heavy, hammock. It is easy to get in and out of, and great for side sleepers. However the Amok Draumr XL is more comfortable when you get organized and in the rigt spot. One of the reasons it's more comfortable is all the space you have on the sides. It is much roomier. And it has a chair mode.👍🏻But I must say that both are great hammocks. And they both come in smaller, lighter versons also. But I need the big ones being 6'4 and 265lb.

    The door looks like if u get out of it when it's raining it will get everything wet how is the floor when used as a bivy does it keep u dry if it's pouring looks like the floor is flat which you would get wet if it is more than likely

    • @zoladkow
      @zoladkow Месяц назад

      yup, precisely. Then again most bivy bags got this issue, so it s handy to have a separate tarp at all times... all rainy times at least, the outer tent still should play nice to keep the warmth

  • @plan9channel7
    @plan9channel7 Год назад +2

    Great vid. Agree about the toggles for the door. A second door and a zip on the flyscreen head/foot end for storage would be great, Black hoop poles and straps also. MKII..fingers crossed and it would be complete in my book.

    Looks pretty good, like a reboot of a dropped design by another company. Lays flat, has a couple neat features and there's a camo version!
    But, honesty... for the price, I would go with a Draumr and just get a tarp from elsewhere to save some cash. It'll barely be more expensive and still weigh half of this... Anyway, enjoy!

  • @yonderoutdoorsuk
    @yonderoutdoorsuk 9 месяцев назад +1

    Thanks for the review. I'm not convinced of the need for an integrated fly personally. I much prefer the open feel you get with a standard tarp but looks solid nevertheless.

  • @eddiejefferies3659
    @eddiejefferies3659 Год назад +1

    A couple of observations that I have from using my own one... The flysheet zip is tight and isn't smooth, and the lower tree straps aren't really long enough for when using the hammock between trees of a great distance apart.
    Both issues are easy enough to cure though, with graphite powder applied to the zip, and a couple of short strops to make an extension of the lower straps.
    This my first hammock though, and I think that it is going to take me a while to get used to it, but hopefully I shall get to like it, as I currently miss the extra internal space of my phox II V2, and find getting up at night for a call of nature, not so easy to do.

    • @WildernessAdventuresUK
      @WildernessAdventuresUK  Год назад +2

      I found the flysheet/zip works better if you sinch up the tie out points on the poles, that aligns it all together and keeps the door in a central location.
      I agree about the bottom straps, they could use an extra 2 meters

    I have a DD frontline XL, DD Superlight Jungle hammock and a few other cheap hammocks. I've been after a flat lay as getting fed up with the sleeping position of the others. This hammock with the Thermarest Neo air mat will be great. I may modify the DD underblanket to fit this depending on how the first sleep is. Have you done an overnight yet?

    it would be nice if you would tell us the weight, The dimensions and the weight capacity so we could compare it with other similar hammocks like the Haven. also, it was hard to tell if you could access and attached and zip the fly while inside the tent in case you get a storm in the middle of the night . but you left these important factors out unless I missed them somehow. 🤷🏼‍♂️
