    Just got one on the back of this video.. I use a bungee chord each side from the middle o the arched poles on the inner to tension out the bug mesh inner. It taughts it up nice and then the inner doesnt sag when inside. Take it to the same caribiner point for the outer flysheet. It also creates a nice ridge for the outer flysheet too.. Great hammock tent. Good video.

    This looks cool. Although i would move the toggles for the door in 3 inches. Shame that there is no zip at the foot/head end to use as storage and a second door. May be this will happen on the MKII.

      Yes 100% they need moving in - that’s the most annoying part about this hammock

  • @slickwillie3376

    Nice. Hope it works out for ya. I like everything about it, except maybe the curve. The straps going around the tree to stabilize it is a nice feature. Also, the poles that elevate the ceiling is another nice feature and enables having a rain fly instead of a tarp.

    • @wildbadgertrek
      @wildbadgertrek  10 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you, yes I agree with your comments. I also like the fact it’s like a floating tent! With the poles holding the big net up giving you that spacious room. The straps around the tree do stabilise it but after using this hammock a few times now you should be careful it can still tip

    Really good video - really helped, thanks (liked & subbed) Also, to me it looks like you would be able to set it up as a standard tent on the ground if there were no trees available? If so, this would really make it even more versatile and surely another great feature.

    Thanks for this video. I'm wondertjng how it performs in a heavy rain. Also, is the flor water proof? And how is the condensation in the tent set up? Thanks.

    • @wildbadgertrek
      @wildbadgertrek  3 месяца назад +1

      Hello, it’s been in heavy rain and was perfect, the fly sheet covers right over the bottom of the hammock so no water actually touches the bottom unless you use it as a bivvi which I haven’t done. Also no condensation there’s plenty of air flow

    Good video mate. I like the idea of the hammock, but the cover looks a bit of a compromise. I would be tempted to use a normal tarp over it. 🤔

    • @wildbadgertrek
      @wildbadgertrek  Год назад +2

      Thanks pal, yes I know what you mean. Since my camp at derwent waters though, that fly sheet kept the heat in very well. I feel that a tarp comprises you to the cold a little more.
      For sure you could use a normal tarp over this… especially if it’s nice and hot!

    Please don't take this wrong. Big tree's is not what you want to set up a hammock with. First. The straps are normally to short. Second. And most importantly. There is not much between you and them big dead branches above you. Thoe the view must be great.
