Thank you so much for this video. So well-informed! I started out with manga when I was younger and got out of it, but then I recently got into comics like Saga. I just ordered the yearly subscription and I'm super excited!
Awesome! Have you read anything else by Brain K. Vaughan? I'm a big fan of Ex Machina and Y: The Last Man. Also, his work on Runaways (Marvel) is amazing (probably part of why it's becoming a TV show).
I enjoy almost everything from Image. Nailbiter, Birthright, Revival, Sex Criminals and Wytches are some of my favorites along with the ones you mentioned.
+Caldwell Comics Really want to read Wytches, and need to catch up on Sex Criminals. Will definitely keep an eye out for Birthright and Nailbiter! Thanks for the suggestions!
I've read Sex Criminals vol 1, The Strange Talent of Luther Strode and The Wicked + The Divine this week. My comic stash is growing :) I'm late in the game but I'm getting there. I loved the art in The Wicked + The Divine. Loved you video :)
+Teresa Luz I just started reading The Wicked + The Divine too! It. Is. Amazing. Can't wait to read volume 2! I got to meet Jamie McKelvie at TCAF a few years back. Got a really nice sketch I'll have to find and post online. Signed my copy of Phonogram too! :D The Strange Talent of Luther Strode is an amazing read too. You have some seriously superb taste in comic books!
+daryl dixon the 13th issue of southern bastards is coming out (12/30/15) so you may want to consider buying the other 12 issues because this comic will become huge I think, they are working on a tv show
+daryl dixon Have definitely enjoyed reading SOUTHERN BASTARDS, and can't wait to pick up the next graphic novel. Wouldn't be surprised if the comic book got made into a TV series, it's a gripping read.
Nice video man! I didn't like Saga as much. Felt too much like a Bollywood movie to me, and I've had enough of those. Haha.. Could you do a collection video? Those shelves behind you look really awesome. :)
+SBR CBR Will totally do a collection video! Those shelves are about a 1/3 of my graphic novels...so it might have to be a 2 or 3 parter video though. Think I posted something to my Instagram account about a year back when we moved into our 'new' house. Find me @uys999, and thanks for the great comments!
Good list. However, I am extremely fond of the new wave of comics from Image which includes : Clone (don't know why this is not getting into any list or as a movie!), Citizen Jack, Starve, The Goddamned, Huck, The violent. I am also following Vertigo's Unfollow, Sheriff of Babylon and Jacked.
Thanks for the kind words! I have to admit that I haven't read much of the above recommended books (have been meaning to read Huck though, hear it way awesome). Looks like my comic book MUST GET list just got a bit longer. Thanks for the recommendations!
+Zarar naseem Yes...sorta...hahahaha. Each graphic novel (that I've read, and I haven't read them all...just 7 or 8 or so) has its own mystery that is being solved. Through this, both the characters past and their secrets are revealed. Later graphic novels volumes return to pick-up on this details again and again, creating a larger world where the characters exist apart from a single 'storyline'. So, yes. Sorta. :D
+Zarar naseem All great reads. And if you enjoy Brian Michael Bendis (writer), make sure to check out SCARLET (with artist Alex Maleev), ALIAS, or his run on DAREDEVIL (also with Alex Maleev).
+Zarar naseem A tough question. I definitely prefer BMB's writing to JMS, but I'm not a big fan of mark Bagley's art... I've read more Ultimate Spider-Man (and own more Ult SPM in my collection) but I think they are targeted at two different types of readers and ultimately have different strengths and weaknesses. If I had to absolutely choose, I'd go with Ultimate Spider-Man (and start at the very beginning of the series - 2000/2001). Cheers!
I like comic with cartoonish drawings. Can anyone recommend me such comics? Example includes I Hate Fairyland. Please please please recommend me such comics.
Skottie Young is the artist on that, right? I'd check out his work on OZ (Marvel Comics) and ROCKET RACCOON (also Marvel). His artistic style is so unique I'm not sure who'd I'd recommend as 'similar', but have you checked out Paul Pope? Rafael Grampá? Have fun reading!
I haven't, but I've heard good things. And it's a TV show (or about to be) now too, right? By Robert Kirkman. I definitely need to read it. Soon!!! Thanks!
+Dopeyface2203 Reading Invincible (just finished first Omnibus, starting into the second) and loving it! Perfect! Was a fan of Spawn waaaaaaay back in the day (read: bought many copies of Issue #1 as a kid) but haven't kept up with it. Will give it another try - any good "jumping on" points you'd recommend?
Easily my favorite comics. Currently reading saga, walking dead, invincible, thief of thieves, empress, birthright, and postal. Will be starting southern bastards soon.

I haven't, but I've heard good things. And it's a TV show (or about to be) now too, right? By Robert Kirkman. I definitely need to read it. Soon!!! Thanks!
Another Robert Kirkman book awesome enough to be mentioned is Invincible.
i hope you will like outcast
This guy fucking loves marvel, look at all the marvel comic books on his shelf haha
There are more bookshelves to the right with DC, Image, etc. This spot just has the best lighting.
Invincible

Image & Vertigo FWT!
Chew kinda sounds like iZombie
read Deadly Class, definitely Rick Remenders best work
Wayward, Spawn and Invincible
+Dopeyface2203 Reading Invincible (just finished first Omnibus, starting into the second) and loving it! Perfect! +Andrew Uys Invincible is great I do agree and with Spawn I would carry on reading it, is a very good series to get into
Dopeyface2203 Will do!
+Andrew Uys I'm a huge DC comics fan so if you want any recommendations from DC then let me know
Dopeyface2203 Will do! Thanks!
Fear Agent is now published by Dark Horse, I dont know why, but I do know that it's a great series.
Easily my favorite comics. Currently reading saga, walking dead, invincible, thief of thieves, empress, birthright, and postal. Will be starting southern bastards soon.
Walking dead doesn't look very appealing, what's so great about it?
