I love the hunting horn everywhere I go and I especially LOOOOOVE the double note mechanic addition. I always played agressively but now I am even more motivated to. One thing I think should be mentionned tho in case it is misleading to some people, about the orchestra soul hunter art, is that while it plays all songs, from all times I played with my friends, the songs played by the art only affected me, even if they were in the same area as me. I was using najarala HH that has cold/heat cancel and neither of them applied to my friend (we were hunting in misty peaks so they didn't have their own).
Been there. xD I've always considered myself a guy who should use supporting in games, and upon learning about the HH, I loved it; Giving my teammates buffs is fun. However, HH is so wide sometimes that you can easily knock people off. Hah.
i haven't touched the hunting horn yet, although i do like some of the designs and this video kinda makes it feel very worth while. maybe i will make me one today i got material for days.
Yo Arekkz, whats the max defense I can get in this game? I heard that with a high enough def and hero shield skill i can negate very heavy hitter attacks. Can I make my party and myself immune?
I mainly use Atk Up songs when using Hunting Horn, so Horns like the Tigrex HH are just fabulous. Especially now that they're rewarding Hunters for being more aggressive. I do like the looks of Aerial style. I'll either use it or Guild style.
Only super slam for Striker? exhaust damage spam easy extended pitfall trap as well as X spam for KO in pitfall trap. A spam for cutting damage on tails (despite not being very strong, can still help)
What they should have done to make the hunting horn better was make it so you can put song you want on different horns, but they take up some sort of resource so that you cant just grab all of them.
So, considering that Monster Hunter X is coming under the name Generations for west, Bushido is known as Adept, etc., are you going to be changing some of your terminology now? Just curious
Hey Arekkz what's the Gore Magala armor like. does it still provide the frenzy resistance even though frenzy only exists in an ability now or did they tweek the armors abilities to better suit X
Naito Akuma last time i checked the only frenzy virus is from an ability so that's why i'm questioning it since resistance to it would be really situational
Just tried it in the NA demo. Noticed that you can animation cancel out of playing a song into sound quake slam, pretty useful but I only tried it once so I ain't sure if this is a thing or not.
I love the weapon but I can never go offline with the thing. My cats can't keep aggro and all the monsters I fight just run into me and stop me from playing songs.
What I want to know is, how the hell do you know what the text says? That's gotta be annoying to deal with like when you go to the note details page at 1:27.
Horn just became super beastly too!! This is my 3rd favorite weapon and now that you can pull that orchestra soul at any point, this weapon is just a step down from OP especially if playing in a team. My question is if you play Orchestra Soul online with your teammates nearby do they also catch all of your buffs?? If so then I'm always bringing a hunting horn on group missions!!!
I'm pretty sure they do. They get just get the weaker version of the songs though. You have to play the specific song to get the stronger one. It's a nice base though. My main issue with the hunting horn is still that most of the note combinations suck. The good songs are locked behind the late game weapons. I do like using one after I've beaten most of the game though.
+Pablo Avila in MH4U you knew that the buffs were active by a small flashing icon of the buff next to your name or status bar. I'm assuming that it's going to stay the same in this one
I've been playing Monster Hunter since the first PSP release (even imported a few Japanese only titles) and only dabbled into hunting horn when I would get bored. I think after messing around with it in the generations demo I will make it my main this time around. If anyone would like to partner up with a MH vet when this releases let me know. I've soloed almost all end game monsters in numerous games.

Sorry, I meant if you play a healing song, then another healing song with paired notes, you get two healing songs. Do you get twice the amount of healing than from one song?
Yea that's true but you get both of the heals, however heals can come in different sizes and it's mostly Extra Small so I actually recommend doing the double heal as it actually heals as much as a potion which can be very helpful

It's Japanese, and Monster Hunter is made from a Japanese dev team. Idk anything about his knowledge in Japanese. And MHX For the west still hasn't been confirmed

I've noticed that the HH deals the Stunning effect WAY faster! You can even see it in the end of the video. About 1 in 10 to 12 hits that you do, you can do a Stunning effect, which in MH4U rarely did. (Maybe it's because the game is more rewarding offensively, but it is really satisfying when it happens!)

Kapitän JadeDejavu i was thinking of having a Javelin Weapon. it would be a short spear that you throw mush like in the fashion with the Bow BUT the main feature of it is that your quiver (where all your javelins are stored) has a shield built into it & by holding the A button you can Gaurd, this block will completely Knock Back Monster attacks from Range or distance. if you hit the A button the moment the monster lands an attack that attack will be Reflected Stunning the Monster & reflecting a portion of the monsters own damage at them.
+23gameoverlord So... Ranged Lance. I'm into it. I would suggest Dual Crossbows. It would attack really fast, but would also be the overall weakest weapon in terms of base power. It could use Coatings for power/status. Maybe it could have 2-3 shot types: Strike which deals Impact/KO damage, Pierce which is weaker but hits many times, and Normal which would be like a middle ground. Also, I'd like a Melee/Ranged hybrid weapon, like Daggers or something. It could play similar to DB in Melee Mode, with fast, cancellable strikes, and then by pressing, say, R+X you switch to Ranged mode and change your dodge into a hop (Ideally the switch animation would put some distance between you and the monster). You throw your daggers and can hold R to aim them. It'd be a fantastic status weapon.

Striker is pretty much HH from MHFU, so I may try Striker now. I've always loved HHs, so I think it may work pretty well for me

Well, it's debatable whether support is the main focus with the added benefit of KO and exhaust, or vice-versa.

I may not be Arekkz, but my guess is that if there is Frenzy res. it would be like the immunity to bleeding in MH4U with the Regios set.

So, in almost every instance, Striker Style is the moveset from MHFU... I can work with that.

How do u know how long a buff lasts? And how do u find out what happens if u play a song twice?

you can spam (X A X A...) in guild style for the same( X X...) combo in striker so its guild for me

"Easy double swing." Just to be clear, you can do this in Guild Style, too. Just alternate between X and A.
