If you line up 2 or 3 songs you can choose which one to play by pressing the performance button together with an attack button (y or b on xbox, triangle or circle on ps) at the same time. The melody you hear depends on the songs position in the queue. If you activate the second song via R2+Y you will hear the second melody. Hope that helps

In almost 10 years of Monster Hunter it has happened to me only once that I was able to form a band with 3 other Hunting Horn mains randomly (and it wasn't even in rise) It was great! Maybe there will be a comeback tour someday.

As a man who plays a solid amount of Hunting Horn in Rise, now I'm tempted to open up Iceborne just to learn Hunting Horn there so I can hear these notes in action myself. Thank you for all the hard work compiling this video though this will help me layer some weapons down the line.

Hey, great to hear that you enjoy the hunting horn in iceborne. I would never let the full animation play out. I either go for an encore or roll to reposition. If you know the fight well and you are sure that you could get an encore through (even if the monster isn't knocked over), go for it! In all other cases I would interrupt the animation by rolling. This last part of the animation directly after the song activation when the hunter gets back into his neutral stance is basically wasted time. I hope that I understood your question correctly and that I was able to help. Keep on dooting!

My favorite part about these horns is that they sound like what they look like, for the most part. Layered weapons are also cool for adding elements to the sound as well. Unlike previous games.... oh dear lord Narcacuga... I can't fight to what sounds like the most violent animal orgy ever.

That would be a great feature and could lead to some interesting combinations. I like the Iron Bazeldrum too. It's one of the best sounding ones imo. The Nergigante Saxophone and the Brachydios parts can lead to some great combinationa too.
Different music is triggered when you have sons in queue. You can press RT+Y or RT+B to play the 2nd or 3rd sing in queue first which results in the other two melodies playing. Looked for this info for 40min so ill just make it easy for you

This video is such a fantastic resource! The first weapon I ever picked up in Monster Hunter was the Hunting Horn as helping out my teammates by playing some tunes seemed like a fun idea. I had no clue about the attention of detail they put into the sounds, though that shouldn't surprise me given the care they put into the rest of the game. A shame not all Hunting Horns are "viable" with some effects clearly better than others.
Sorry about the headaches! It occurred to me that this could happen and tried to find a suitable camera speed beforehand. But in the end it's still a rotating camera, one that you look at for 10-20 minutes at a time ... Glad you found the video useful anyway!

I started playing today and its very magnificent. Starting was a bit rough, but after some time the monsters were crumbling to the ground. Now I want to look for some good sounds and use the layered weapons, so this is really great and I appreciate the work you’ve done!
I like how Bazelgeuse's horn reminds of an alarm or raid siren, and Deviljho's sounds downright frightful. As they should. I wasn't expecting that sound for Brachydios though. Some of the parts sound different on different bases too. For example, the Namielle parts on the Iron Bagpipe sounds like a bloop while the same parts on the Iron Drum sounds like deep dark electric buzz. Which is perfect for Namille's two elements, water and electricity.
i had no idea that individual parts give combinations of sound just went pipe (for the sound) and radoban (for looks) this helps i have a shitton of horns (thankks safi)

I tested different camera speeds in advance but somehow I settled on this one (maybe due to lack of experience, since that was my first video and I had absolutely no idea what I was doing). Frostfang has the best Hunting Horn and nothing can change my mind on it. I miss the 3u tundra theme. Barioth should've gotten it as a dedicated theme in IB and Rise

The melodies of this bass guitar irritated me too at first and then I learned to love this choir of dread and doom that accompanies it. I can play my own boss theme while going on a rampage in the guiding lands while tempered Elder Dragons tremble in fear, how awesome is that. Praise Lord Fatalis.
Wow, I never realized that weapon augmenting little bits of monster parts on the same weapon design altered the HH's notes. That's a cool concept. Shows that there are at least some things to like about World's approach to weapon design.
This channel actually started with short videos about this topic. "What if Rajangs Horn played his theme instead". But the videos weren't as interesting or as good as I wanted them to be. So I took them offline. Maybe I'll get back to this someday. It's fun to play around with this.

I looked this up after I saw 1 of the 5 total hunting horn mains in one of my first ever Safi’ hunts. They were pretty cool, so now I’m interested.
I love how they made the Nargacuga one Cry in the Night sort of like a toned down death-whistle. its got a kind of unsettling noise.

You're right. I tested different camera speeds in advance but somehow I settled on this one (maybe due to lack of experience, since that was my first video and I had absolutely no idea what I was doing). I got rid of the spinning in other hunting horn showcase videos and I'm still thinking about reworking this one. Thank you for your feedback :3

Frostfang has the best Hunting Horn and nothing can change my mind on it. I miss the 3u tundra theme. Barioth should've gotten it as a dedicated theme in IB and Rise

Wow, I never realized that weapon augmenting little bits of monster parts on the same weapon design altered the HH's notes. That's a cool concept. Shows that there are at least some things to like about World's approach to weapon design.

Imagine if horns actually reproduced their monsters theme(some already do, but imagine raging brachy's theme on a HH)
This channel actually started with short videos about this topic. "What if Rajangs Horn played his theme instead". But the videos weren't as interesting or as good as I wanted them to be. So I took them offline. Maybe I'll get back to this someday. It's fun to play around with this.

Is it just me or do these sound way better than the in game versions? Maybe I need to check my sound settings. LOL Ruiner sounds like me trying to play along side actual musicians. The slight variations on some of the Horns with the augments is a nice touch.
