In my last few games of Amun-Re 20th Anniversary Edition and Expeditions, I severely underestimated the value of having a good selection of cards in the early game and I got bodied. I prefer games where the cards are the central mechanism over other games where I have to go out of my way to spend turns or take actions to obtain more and other choices mean I get zero new cards.

That is a good point. In a lot of bigger point salady euros, getting cards is a completely separate action and if you don't get the powerful rule breaking tiles, its almost like a set back to your own game. I have seen Amun Re. Would you recommend it? :)

@@BoardGameSanctuary If you love Ra you'd like Amun-Re 20th which is also by Knizia but with Vincent Dutrait artwork. The production is very nice - I've been attracted to ancient Egypt as a game theme since Nile -and I think it's best at five because when you play with fewer, you have to block out a certain number of provinces so that everyone can get exactly three provinces (fifteen at five players twelve at four, etc.). It's funny how much time flies when what you're actually doing shouldn't take more than forty five minutes in theory. A first teach plus playthrough at a meetup ran for four hours and they weren't slowpokes at taking their turns. By game's end, everyone had a blast but the run time was something that I felt was worth mentioning.

Love the channel. Kinda random but where did u get ur shelves in the back and how many games can it hold

Thanks so much. The shelves are from Ikea. They can probably store 5 square sized board game ticket to ride boxes in each hole. That includes having one game standing upright at the front.
