Such a fascinating list of games - You DEFEND those games you love, it only makes them more interesting since some fly under the radar. I've definitely flagged a few titles on BGG, like Tapple, the Marvel games, and Aquatica. Excited to research more! Keep up the enthusiasm, Tim!
I just started getting into board games. I love how you do cinematic tutorials and reviews. Keep it up subscribed. The cinematic sold me on subscribing. Completely different from a lot of the other review channels.
This is a top-tier video. I cannot believe I did not find this channel earlier. A small thing is that the volume on the cinematics for the various games is a tad loud. I love the fresh energy that it injects, and I think a 10% decrease in volume for the cinematics would make everything just perfect. Thank you for this video, and keep up the good work.
I subscribed about 50 seconds into watching. The editing was so far above anything else I've ever seen that I wanted to watch even if your reviews were crap (which they aren't; they are terrific).
Tim, I didn’t buy it for a long time for the same reason. I don’t drink and the wine part didn’t appeal to me. Once I purchased the game and played it, I’m now all in. I’ll buy anything that comes out for this game. Love it!

HAHA! Thanks for watching Peter!! Truly have loved this game and it’s been a wonderful experience all around! I’ve been following Luke’s teasers of Andromeda’s Edge and yes-I’d love that!
A man after my own heart. I absolutely love playing boardgames but mostly lose. Even so, the experience of playing greatly outweighs the goal of winning for me. Although I wouldn't mind winning from time to time.
this is EXACTLY how I feel! hahaha just having a chance to play outweighs actually winning or losing.... but figuring out the game and getting a W wouldn't hurt at all 😂
Nice video! So good you tried viticulture after all those years! I recommend the essential edition and tuscany essential eddition expansion. They really push the game to one of the best worker placement games!
Until you realize how broken the cards are (specifically yellow, in my estimation). You can beat the game faster than everyone else only taking and playing cards without making a _single_ wine. Tested it personally on 3 occasions. Love the game too but it’s hard to overlook.
How have I not heard of/seen your channel before?! Mate, your straight-forward but entertaining approach is a winner. You have a very engaging way of presenting yourself and your work. I think your passion is the reason for that. Can't wait to see more of what you have and will do.

This is the first video of yours I have seen. Great video! I just subscribed. Once in a while the music drowned out what you were saying (like the name of the game number 8 I think) but the work you put into your videos is fantastic. Great job!
Thank you for capturing the quality of the games and expanding the feels. I was watching other videos for Kemet and thought it was going to be game I wouldn't want to play, this video convinced me to at least try it.
This is a technically impressive video. I enjoyed this. Wow, high praise for Aquatica! I dismissed it as a game that is probably good, but wouldn't have staying power with me. You've convinced me to look at it a little more closely. If I get it I probably would get the expansion at the same time.
SWEET thank you thank you jacob! yeah you really should give it a shot! the theme was enticing for quite some time, and then when I happened to make a tutorial on it + review...it just kept growing on me and now I can't get enough of it! expect a cold waters expansion review soon~ I hope you get a chance to try it!
MC:LCG is in my Top Ten too. Okay, I just ordered Aquatica based on your review. It's on many other Top Ten lists, so you were the final straw. Eldervale... Oh yeah, another one in my Top Ten! A very unique game and the game trayz are amazing.

That cinematic video of yours that you were talking about was really important to me and probably helped convince me to buy it and even though the price got really hefty due to shipping I have NEVER BEEN SO HAPPY with a purchase like ever!! I'm only partway in right now but had to comment on the awesomeness of your editing with the added animations (like in "rips your heart out"). So cool! I also don't really drink but I like the theme of making wine/beer because the process seems cool, even though I don't like the final product.

@@TimChuon I'm honored to have you binge my Marvel plays! It's always humbling to know channels that I watch have stopped by my channel ... and was glad to see 2 marvel titles in your list! :)
Solid list for 2021! Dwellings is fantastic, and made my list too. Such a great mix of Euro, thematic and conflict mechanics. Regret not backing it but now waiting for 2E to be announced. Pandemic WOW looks awesome and have loved all iterations so far. Even finally painted and pimped out Pandemic Cthulu. Will need to add to my wish list. Don't think I can disagree with any of your picks (not that it matters, different strokes and all), but very solid. New sub!
I'm recently binge watching on loads of board games and your channel hits the spot. Didn't grew much on board games but I'm not too old to not try and I'm looking forward for discovery. Thanks! Also subscribed! 👍
Seeing as how you started with two of my top 10 games... I'm all in on this list. Gotta try Aquatica, merchants and eldervale now! Great quality visuals too brother!
I have to say when I saw your #8, I decided to subscribe to your channel. I’ve seen soooo MANY “Top 10 “best” lists. And I’ve listened to people talk about art work and epic size and game mechanics and game designers, card building, worker placement, blah, blah, blah. TBH, I NEVER play games because of any of those things. I’m not looking for “tasty” games, or games with a “crunch” (we all know where that comes from…). I play games to create memories and enjoy my time with friends and family-and that’s it. I don’t care how simple or silly a game is. Actually, I find I like simple games, because it is ACCESSIBLE to everyone I care about. I believe they call this genre “party games”. Last night my family and friends played a new game for us all, “Blank Slate” and we had a blast. Laughter and no one cared who won or lost. To me that is the best game nights. I’ve also played plenty of heavyweight games like Twilight Imperium. But I find myself playing those games less and less. I say all this to say, your choice at #8, you shouldn’t have to “explain” or caution why it’s on your list. I’ve never seen it, and it’s the one game I’ll probably go out and buy. Basically, remember why you play games. And thanks for sharing what games you enjoy the most.
I like Kemet quite a bit, but the new edition still has a pretty bad stalemate problem where the game grinds down to a slog and it drags way longer than it should. Viticulture is my number one. Great game.
Really great video! I hate to be that guy, and 'synchronicity' really is a great word, but it means something else. The word your looking for is 'synergy'. 'Synchronicity' is a concept in psychology that describes circumstances that seem meaningfully related but lack a causal connection. Like thinking about something and then it happens, for example.
Been loving Red Rising and Dwellings of Eldervale... But the issue for me is getting Dwellings to the table, always seem to get people to play Red Rising.
that's cool too! maybe it's because of the setup for dwellings? way longer than RR for sure to set up, but it's kinda funny how that it's the opposite for me-can get no one to play RR at all!
After watching a few of your videos, I’m very impressed by your videography/showcase of games! It makes ordinary games pieces pop and other reviewers should emulate how you show games. Keep up the awesome work and I’ll stick around! 💚
I am one of the very fortunate people who late pledged Dwellings on a whim because i hadn't owned or played Scythe before, and wanted something similar. Also, i suspected someone in my group would eventually get scythe, so i held back. Boy do i feel smug about my decision. Spot on explanation of the feels/vibes the game gives and yes, they need to print more. people really should get a hold of this one. Great channel, great work and certainly a long time subscribers. Cheers Tim and Happy New Year.
awesome video! I really like your editing style, big kudos! . . . would you happen to know whether the developer of Dwellings of Eldervale is planning to release a second kickstarter campaign for expansions on this game? cuz I don't own it , and on ebay the game is crazy expensive, and usually when they kickstart expansions for a game they let you buy the base game with all the promos and stuff. but I just don't if I should wait?
Thanks so much Javier! Happy to hear you enjoyed the top ten! So they do have preorders going-one just went out a couple weeks ago, and I def recommend following their newsletter! They mentioned they might have another coming up soon as well~
@@TimChuon wow! Thank you so much, that had not occurred to me, but yes, developers let people on their newsletters know information in advance, then you, I subbed to your channel by the way, you're really good at this board game content creation gig :D
Wow! Just Wow! You sir, have my full attention! Wonderful List and explanation of each game without being boring or taking forever to explain. Liked and subscribed!
Love Kemet - but since you have that pillar of the "Matagot Holy Trinity" on this, I have to recommend Inis. It's my absolute favorite game and is IMO much better than Kemet! It captures most qualities of a 4x game while being elegant, deep, fast, easy to learn, and fun - all while having a bunch of truly unique mechanics. The production value is top-notch to boot. Give Inis a try, I bet it'll replace Kemet on your list once you do 😄
Can everyone please stop throwing in my face how amazing dwellings is!? I wanna play this game sooooo bad but cannot find a copy at retail or, really anywhere right now. It really really sucks to want to play a specific game, and such a recent release, so bad and not be able to get a copy.

Diceforge has to be one of my all time favourite games
As always, amazing production!! :)
It's a great list because I love some of the games and haven't played the others. Can't wait to try Dwellings of Eldervale and Merchant's Cove.
Why have I never come across your videos before? I really enjoyed your enthusiasm and the content of the video. Definitely subscribed.
true, very interesting videos
I would appreciate to see chapters in the video, and a clear list of the games in the description. Amazing cinematography
Done friend! just added in time stamps along with links as well-thank you so much!
yes, great suggestion
@@TimChuon Hero! Thanks for the great content!
Subscribed 👌
That’ll make two of us 😊
New subscriber here. Your cuts and edits are next level. Love it.
Really looking forward to watching more of your videos.
Seeing as how you started with two of my top 10 games... I'm all in on this list. Gotta try Aquatica, merchants and eldervale now! Great quality visuals too brother!
sooo stoked to hear that Eric! Thank you~ you 100% have to try those titles! mannn they are a hit at our house!
Viticulture was new to me this year as well and loved it.
right?! can't believe i haven't played it before but i'm excited to hear that you like the game as well!
Insta sub! Such a good content here.
I like Kemet quite a bit, but the new edition still has a pretty bad stalemate problem where the game grinds down to a slog and it drags way longer than it should. Viticulture is my number one. Great game.
This is the board game channel I was waiting for!
WELCOME FRIEND! 🥳
Absolutely epic editing! I also appreciate how you focus on the key facts of the games instead of bs-talk around it. Greetings from Germany!
I like that Viticulture you can play using little meeples that look like yoda.
hahahah I never realized that! Love those meeples!
Most of what you like matches my tastes and my man..... Tapple!? You are not alone, that is a great party game.
Such an awesome aesthetic, this is the cleanest gaming video I’ve seen in a long time, subscribed!
Stumbled across this by accident but totally love your vid! Love the vibe you give and information that is not too much or too little so… subcribed!
Very well produced videos. This is a step above the normal board game enthusiast video.
great list and a gorgeous video. I'm 2 games into Merchants Cove and can't wait for the next.
YESSS! which characters have you played with so far? the blacksmith has to be my favorite atm!
I love all the games you love so I am excited to try the others. I actually gifted my original copy of pandemic so I could get the WOW version!
Another video of your that I loved! I wish you much success in 2022!
Cheers Alberto!! You’re the best, and i wish you the same!!
It’s just a matter of time before this channel blows up, this is the first video I saw of yours and I’m floored!
whaaaat?! that's so inspiring to hear- thanks a lot Tyler! Happy to have you here friend!
Red Rising was a pleasant surprise
YES!! not many people share the same view on RR; i'm glad you enjoy it too!
Definitely interested in Dwellings……now I just have to find it. Great video!!
The quality of this is absolutely incredible, good job man!!
Now i really want to try Tapple, Merchant's Cove and Aquatica. Thanks for the great recs.
The way you film this is so awesome. Thanks for the entertaining video.
always makes my day to hear that! Glad you enjoyed all the work I poured into this one!
awesome video! I really like your editing style, big kudos!

would you happen to know whether the developer of Dwellings of Eldervale is planning to release a second kickstarter campaign for expansions on this game? cuz I don't own it , and on ebay the game is crazy expensive, and usually when they kickstart expansions for a game they let you buy the base game with all the promos and stuff. but I just don't if I should wait?
Thanks so much Javier! Happy to hear you enjoyed the top ten!
So they do have preorders going-one just went out a couple weeks ago, and I def recommend following their newsletter! They mentioned they might have another coming up soon as well~
@@TimChuon wow! Thank you so much, that had not occurred to me, but yes, developers let people on their newsletters know information in advance, then you, I subbed to your channel by the way, you're really good at this board game content creation gig :D
I know I'm not the only one, but I am so glad I found this channel!!!!!!
WELCOME TO THE WOLF PACK 🥳
@@TimChuon Thank you! Can't wait to dive into your video archive and looking forward to the future content! ❤
Thank you so much-so grateful to have your support! You came right on time-top games of 2022 is releasing out next week! 😱
Wow!
Give Inis a try, I bet it'll replace Kemet on your list once you do 😄
Top content, you are a lovely character and your videos are so humble but professional on another level. Keep it up! :)
You got a new sub. Nice content keep it up !
welcome to the channel werner! Super excited to have you join!
Bro, you deserve more subs. I appreciate the work you put into this video and I always like to see other people who are also into board games
Tapple is indeed underrated.
Can everyone please stop throwing in my face how amazing dwellings is!? I wanna play this game sooooo bad but cannot find a copy at retail or, really anywhere right now. It really really sucks to want to play a specific game, and such a recent release, so bad and not be able to get a copy.
Great video editing + great review!
