    Reset remote Reset remote Press and hold down Clear and TV on the remote at the same time until the light on the top of the remote flashes green twice. Press Thumbs Down three times, then press OK. The LED will flash green twice and exit programming mode.

    If you’ve come here to fix your Virgin TiVo remote because it’s suddenly acting like it’s broken and not responding properly to your inputs - like;
    * The volume buttons won’t respond immediately
    * It’s jumping selections when you’re trying to watch a recording;
    * You press the button and it’s a laggy response with it jumping over what you’re trying to select;
    Fear not. There’s NOTHING WRONG WITH YOUR REMOTE...!!!
    The problem is INSIDE the TiVo box settings.
    To be more precise, navigate your way to your recordings inside the TiVo box via your TV screen using your remote.
    Navigate to “Manage Series Links”
    You will find a list of every series link you’ve ever created - many of them now quite redundant and no longer required.
    You’ll probably find 60, 70 or more individual series links in there, many greyed out as they’re no longer in use!
    SELECT AND DELETE THE SERIES LINKS YOU NO LONGER NEED...!!!
    In my case, I deleted almost 40 redundant series links - but after deleting the first 10 or so, my remote control suddenly started responding properly again!!!
    It would seem that too many Series Links inside the TiVo box list, use up a considerable amount of memory - some of which somehow, the TiVo box also uses to communicate with and respond to the remote controller’s commands.
    Remove all excess unused / no longer required Series Links on the list and memory for proper communications between your virgin tivo remote controller and the box are immediately restored.
    Try it! There’s nothing wrong with your remote - the problem is THAT Series Link List in the box!
    Many people have wasted money on a new remote and still had the same frustrating problem, not realising the problem is the Series Link List that has grown way too large and gobbled up memory needed for smooth communications between the remote and the TiVo box.
