Beautiful family! Commander is very handsome! I have a year old female Rottweiler named Valkyrie!(she is 102 lbs and 23 inches at the withers) She has very high drive so I know about being tested. I had a Male Johnson American Bulldog (he was 135lbs) so this is not my first Rodeo. You will be surprised a lot with a Presa! I put, Boerboel, Presa, and Rottweilers at the top of my in home protection breed list! Keep up the content, I will be watching! Great start!

I live in the canary islands, I have the same dog that u have. My one is lazy af haha, he's really friendly , he is not dominant at all... he is 6 years old and I love him so much, he so calm, patient . I saw other presa canario from original canarian people and the dogs are like 90-100kg and really big,massive , they say that's the original one.

I undertant the reason that you train a presa like a kanis,,i believe is because you have kids,,my presa is pureblood working line like yours brindle black,2 hours a day i train him by myself he trains at the age of 2 months until know who is 15 months old,,the train is to grab,catch,attack[on my commant only],to watch the house for intruders anyway you have made a good job Nice dog anyway,,is he aggresive to strangers?or is he calm of his socialisation?How he does with other dogs on the street or in his space?Do you run the dog at least,,or only train him with comands like stay,etc?

Hi Erik! Continuing to work for his toys has been effective. It's almost like he automatically goes right into obedience mode anticipating earning a toy. But he is extremely playful and loves being chased around the house. Thanks for watching!!

Is he in an apartment or house? I ask because I've put a down payment in for a pup already but postponed the purchase because I'm still in an apartment and didn't know if that would be the best choice for this breed. Any input or advice? I just started following your page and have gotten Presa fever all over again now I want to get my dog before I get into a house. I'd appreciate any feedback on this matter. Thank you and you are all doing such an amazing job with Commander, he looks great!
Hello Jarrod!! We are in a pretty large townhouse. The area we live in (WV) there are a ton of fields and open areas. We also take Commander for 2-3 walks per day. It is also good to satisfy that natural prey drive. We use a flirt pole.
We will be dropping a video soon showing how Commander likes to play inside the house. What we read and are now experiencing first-hand is that Presas need to get their energy out. After a few months the casual walk is not enough. Built up energy plus boredom can lead to destructive behavior. I remember being advised from a more experienced Presa owner that you should devote a minimum of 3 hours a day to being active with and building the relationship with your Presa. I hope this helps! What are you suppose to do with the agressiveness that comes out when he growls for bones / toys
One thing that we were coached to try, was to make sure that all of his toys come thru us. He has to work for everything that he wants.
They have to fear you mine tried that one time I grab the fuck by the back of his neck and let me tell u I can take his food away bones toys right out his mouth with out a sound just a wagging tail cant be to soft with them or they will test you not saying beat the dog up just got to ruff them up when they get outta line
