  • Join Auburn Sky Landscaping as they rejuvenate two beautiful patios and a walkway that were originally installed by the team 10 years ago in New Jersey. These new homeowners wisely decided to invest in the longevity and aesthetics of their pavers by opting for a professional cleaning and protectant application.
It's recommended to clean and protect pavers every 3-5 years to maintain their vibrant color and extend their lifespan. Unlike sealants, our protectant allows the pavers to breathe, ensuring durability without compromising their natural look.
Auburn Sky began by carefully moving all patio furniture and trimming back any undergrowth to ensure a thorough cleaning. This preparation step is crucial for getting the best results, as it allows them to access all areas of the pavers.
Using an environmentally friendly solution, the team power washed the pavers with a specialized power head. This tool ensures an even cleaning, avoiding any unsightly zig-zag lines that can sometimes be left by less precise methods. The power washing process removed dirt, grime, and any buildup that had accumulated over the years.
After the pavers were thoroughly cleaned, they allowed them to dry overnight. This drying period is essential to ensure that the protectant can adhere properly to the surface. The next day, the protectant was mixed and the team applied it using a smooth, swift motion. Cardboard was used to shield areas where the protectant was not needed, ensuring a clean application.
The protectant was left to set for 24 hours without any foot traffic. This curing period allows the protectant to fully bond with the pavers, providing maximum protection. Once the protectant had set, all the patio furniture was replaced, completing the transformation.
Want to keep your pavers looking just like new? Regular maintenance every 3-5 years can keep your pavers looking as good as new, giving your outdoor space a fresh and well-maintained appearance.

Great question! This was just a paver cleaning and protectant being applied. The power washer head we used did not affect the polymeric sand that was already in place, hence why we did not have to add anymore.
