Well, that’s so funny I thought I was the only person to manufacture of my own little wingnuts out of those ribbons they gave you lol for the CPU cooler
I did a video too on doing the case swap. Bypassing the front usb errors are real easy to do, just a matter of jumping or adding a ground. Will post a link to the video I did explaining it. Love the content!!

I'm on the process of doing this swap, but on the TWR model. Finding #6-32 x in huts for the CPU cooler here in Europe his a huge b*tch, and I don't see myself butchering the old case to get the tabs. But I don't despair, I'll find a way eventually.
For the psu, u can make an extension plate out of metal attaching the case screw hole for the psu and the screw hole on the actual psu
or 3d print a bracket if you have a 3d printer or know a friend with one also 3d print a io shield
The easiest swap you can do is hp pro 3500. Everything connects right even if you swap the power supply for a bigger gpu. No errors

yeah thst power supply isnt going to cut it for graphics cards, id upgrade to a 500w or 600w

Why use the T400 instead of a 1650 LP? I'm not too familiar with the T400s though...
FYI i tried running a fan splitter from the CPU fan header as well on this system, the power draw from all the fans fried the mobo.

@@es1alexlopez yes but I wold also recommend running additional fans off Sata power adapters instead of the mono, they will be louder and have not pwm.

I have a elitedesk 800 g1 tower, so the power supply is much bigger than the sff u have but other than that everything else looks the same, this is my first pc so I was wondering if I should swap the tower into the micro atx case u got in this video or if I should have a different case could you help me out?
The 800 G1 TWR's mobo fits perfectly into a MATX case. Get a regular ATX PSU if you can too, as the OEM's screw holes don't line up with the regular ATX mounting ones.

Yes go for it! It's so rewarding and there are plenty of budget options. Just be patient and don't rush. But most importantly, have fun!
Yo bro how big of a gpu can you through in there without javeing to upgrade the psu. I bought a full size 1650 and now iam stressed tge psu won't be enough.
If the card doesn’t require any external psu power(6 or 8 pin connector) you should be fine

I used some metal snips to cut away the tabs in the HP motherboard tray. This of course does render the original case useless
Did it work? Yes. Was it ugly AF? Hell yeah! I'd prefer a much cleaner install.

I was wondering is there any sort or way of tricking the computer into thinking the USB and speaker slots are in use so the PC will boot normally
You can always keep the speaker and reconnect internally, the usb is a little more difficult

OMG the hard drive bays on these are absoltue aweful. I don't know how you can scr33w up a 5.25 and a 3" drive bay but HP found a way. You can forget the traditional mounting via 4 side or bottom screws.There is no way to mount either drive in here without them flopping around. I finally just shoved a drive in there floating around and used foam to keep it from rattling.
And opening the case was infuriating as well. Instead of two screws on the back, there is a handle you have to pull up and yank on the top cover of the case. WTF. seriously. WTF HP. PC techs do not appreciate change. Or non proprietary connectors.
I would say, avoid these machines, even if theyseem like great buys. You can't put a ful height GPU in them, and the power supply is propreitary and only 250 watt. They are not as awful as Dells or Macs, but they are not much better either. I unfortunately bought 4 of these machines to give away as Xmas presents and am regretting it.
