I hope Rudra gets an HD remake like LIVE A LIVE. The mantra system was like stealing cars in gta. It was fun the first time or 2, then the gimmick loses its appeal and you realise how shallow the battle system is.
"Goth girl's trip to the bridge" is such a morosely evocative line. Even aside from the great factual content, I really appreciate how you present it all. You've got a really great style!
Rudra definitely should get the Live a Live treatment. In a time where Octopath Traveler started a small renaissance of 16 bit jrpgs with their "HD-2d" and we are seeing many classics getting remakes like Suikoden 1 and 2, but also many indie devs creating games in that style, i feel like it would be the best time ever for such a unique jrpg like Rudra to have its chance to truly shine like it deserves; i know its unlikely but i really wish that would happen, i would buy it in a heartbeat 🥺🥺
This was a really cool video. I didn't know about the first two games that you covered and they both look very unique, and like titles that I would have tried myself in the hey day. Keep up the great work!
Just found you through your Star Ocean video. It was super great you should have a lot more subscribers the level of quality your videos have. I look forward to your future videos keep it up.
@@prettycody Well, you should of course follow what interests you most! In one of your videos you mentioned you haven't played any Tales games, and I thought it would be cool to see your take on Tales of the Abyss. It's one of my favorite JRPGs, and the cast of characters all have great arcs that develop them past where they begin. Unfortunately it is only on PS2 and 3DS, so it's not easy to play it without an emulator. It's a shame because it's an underrated game in the Tales series, but I feel it has the best cast in the franchise (though I haven't played some of the recent games nor Vesperia yet). The Xenosaga games are another overlooked JRPG series with an interesting development history, and I'm always interested to see content about those games. They are pretty dark games though with some dense worldbuilding and dips in quality between the three games. Are you mostly interested in JRPGs, or do you think you will do games outside that genre?

Absolutely play Threads of Fate, great game. Maybe make a video on Threads of Fate, I'd certainly enjoy that at least. The music is a bop and a half.

oops, yep - I've seen the Ridley Scott original too. Good catch, I didn't call out the full title.
