    Correction: The game "Funky Boxers" was indeed released in the west as "Contender 2" (US) and "Victory Boxing Contender" (EU).
    Many thanks to @Alejandro Schmid for pointing this out!
    Correction 2: The game "Virtual Pro Wrestling" was also released in the West as "WCW vs The World". Thanks to @The Crawling Chaos for pointing this out!

      Contender 2 is the second game and the Japanese Victory Boxing (2000), its PAL counterpart is Victory Boxing Challenger. PAL Victory Boxing Contender is Contender 1 in the USA (first game). Funky Boxers (2002) is the third game, Japan only, see my post above with the list.

      "Shutokou Battle: Drift King" is not a japanese exclusive - it was released worldwide as "Tokyo Highway Battle".

    Hi Gary! I'm pretty much loving all your vids on PS1 games. You are showcasing games I never saw and that's very cool. I wanted to point that Funky Boxers exists on the american catalog as Contender 2. Just that. Have a nice weekend!

    Gary! Any chance we get to see them with the games with the original resolution? These modern emulation tools cloud the experience of how the games were made to look like

    • @GaryRetroGamer
      @GaryRetroGamer  Год назад +1

      Ah, that's an excellent and not uncommon question. While I understand the purists who prefer the "proper experience" - I am, myself, not a purist. I find the old pixelation a bit unappealing. So, no disrespect to the purists - but that's not for me. I like the graphical upgrades and most (not all, but most) viewers do as well.
      If you're interested in a particular title, however, there are other RUclips channels that specialize in "original hardware" captures. My suggestion is that if you see a title on one of this channel's videos interesting, do a RUclips search for that game name and "original hardware" - and there's a good chance you will find it!
