Bernie Stollar is a POS! i remember he's the sole reason why Working Designs left Sega cuz Bernie put their booth where nobody could find them at E3!!!! Working Designs eventually said fuck you and ported of Lunar SSS to PS1. SO PISSED!!!!!
Thanks for the vid. I've got as many English titles as I want but was looking to boost the library for my MiSTer and Steam deck and there are a bunch of great looking titles here.
The Saturn didn't do better than the PS1 in Japan. It was however close until Final Fantasy 7 came out in early 1997 and the Saturn did end up outselling the N64
@@SAMTHEMANTHATCAN True! Sega had answers to both Nintendo and Playstation when it comes to games. PS has Resident Evil... Sega has Deep Fear. PS had Gran Turismo but Sega has Rally Championship and Daytonna. Not only did FF7 defeated Sega but Sony also had Crash Bandicoot that gave Mario and Sonic a run for their money. Saturn failed in America because people wanted an actual main title Sonic game. All US Sega fans got was a Sonic racing game, a compilation genesis titles game and a 3D Blast Saturn port game. I believe the lack of actual Sonic games killed the Saturn. Perhaps if Sonic Adventure came out for the Saturn instead of the Dreamcast, I think that game alone would have saved the console.
@@SAMTHEMANTHATCAN The Saturn still has a cult status as of 2024, and the community is only growing bigger every year. The PS1 aged very badly, because of all the low-poly 3D... The Saturn is known for its 2D games in particular, which aged so well.
@@JaggedMercenary When it comes to 2d games i agree Saturn is King. Plus i think it had the better controller. But the 3d games have aged even more than the PS1 3D games. PS1 library is mabee the best ever for 3d games for their day and most of them still play well today.
There are like 50 games here that should have been localized and it doesnt even include the best games like Street Fighter Alpha 3 and Shining Force III scenario 2 and 3. PCE had a lot of good games left in Japan but Saturn had easily over 100 that deserved US/EU release.
Not better. Just as good! The only good PlayStation did. Was PS1 and ps2. I would miss. Spyro. Crash. Racthet & clank. Jak & daxter. And so on. There where many great games! I do have a big Saturn European pal collection. 74 games 😆🤘 so I do love Saturn aswell!

tons of games but most pretty low budget and audience oriented games. so nothing that's actually pushing the system so we could really see what it can really do with proper development tools.
A shame every single one of them goes for hundreds of dollars. Saturn must be the only niche system where Japanese imports are more expensive than Western releases.
I really want to get into JP Saturn collecting because I thought it would be cheaper than the crazy US prices right?? But a lot of these ones in into are also going for hundreds of dollars! If they kept good and colorful games for them, no wonders why Saturn did not well in Europe... lol As a kid I always found my Saturn bland not as fun and imaginative as a PS1 or N64... some of them are still just arcade and nothing cant be compared to Ocarina or mario 64, crash etc but still the machine shows potentials.
INCREDIBLE game Library! I just got myself a Terraonion for Saturn, I literally went through this video and grabbed each title from my shelves.
Never knew Saturn had so many great games. Amazing console.
Blame video game magazines whp hated anything not Nintendo.

Gekirindan should be on here. Yes, it's on the Saturn only in Japan, but it's subpar compared to the original arcade.

Long live the 2d era! This is amazing. I always hated the move to 3d back in the mid 90s. Soo ugly.
The Saturn's sprites have aged like fine wine. But most of the "Playstation era polygons" look like sh!t today". Such irony.
@@m.jordan5181 but so do the saturns polygons... lol. Virtua cop 2 I can handle but not Daytona or Sega Rally.

That Ninku game though
Wow....
El Sega Saturn es como tener un Jaguar, elegante, hermoso.
N° 9 + Bomberman Wars = Amazing games
Bomberman Fight = Nice
That's where the gold is
I see why saturn did better than ps1 in japan now.

If you like video games where you punch people in the face The Saturn has got you covered.
I had most of these games but my go to was usually Shienryu
Great vid, thanks
La mayoría de estos juegos no eran mínimamente comerciales en occidente. Pero hay algunos muy buenos que habrían dado buen resultado en occidente
What was SoJ thinking not bringing half of these games over to the states...oh yeah that's right they weren't thinking at all.

Saturn was better than Xbox and GameCube
i wouldn't go that far but it was a competitor with the n64 despite not having a goldeneye or super mario 64/zelda. way more games to enjoy.
