I think you did a magnificent job on the editing. the pictures with the song, really powerful. i spent a little over a week in ireland during july and i loved it so much but when i took a trip through shankill and falls road areas it almost tore my heard out. i've read a lot about the troubles but realling being there seeing and feeling all of the history...it changes you or at least it really had an impact on me.
I made this video a long time ago and it has been sitting in a closet gathering dust. I thought I would post it up here on RUclips as well as some other old videos to see what folks thought about them. peace! ~K
Thank you for sharing this video.I love this song and the Cranberries i was watching clips with this song from the movie Some Mothers Son and the tears could not stop and listening to joe macdonald and everytime i watch Braveheart omgg my heart and soul bleeds for all the brave souls that died for freedom.England will answer for all the blood on there hands for over hundreds of years Of Ireland and Scotland people.United!Tiocfaidh Ar La
@J Con Don't listen to their hypocrisy. When they say "peace" they mean Ireland under british oppression. True, wonderful peace will come only when Ireland will be free. Until then, blood wil be on the hands of the british elite
Who said anything about 1969? There are scenes in the video far more recent than '69. And, as far as I can tell, you're right about there being no scenes of carnage from the UVF or the UDA.
The thing I don't like about the song, not the video, is that she makes it sound like it all started in 1916 when in fact the fight is a lot older than that. There's a rising almost every generation, and if the past tells us anything, there will be more until Ireland is united and the British are gone. As Padraig Pearse said "Ireland unfree shall never be at peace".
I know but I was just replying to your comment about the positive statements from unionist polititions and i was saying there have not been many SINCE '69 which includes the scenes of that film.
You know the song is about peace right ?. How can you have peace by promoting a terrorist and Communist organisation that has a history of killing innocent women and children to achieve their political goals ?.
The Pope is the leader of the Roman Catholic faith, not of all catholics. Paisley is perfectly entitled to state his beliefs I suppose, being the leader of his own church and all that. But calling the leader of that particular church the Antichrist, or an anti-Christ, is not calling Roman Catholics anti-Christs, which was my point.
Why are you using the name Setanta an irish warrior british man? On Setanta sports you brits used to call him sultana lol. How about an apology for the genocide that you brits call the famine or what about your great hero Oliver Cromwell. Who exterminated clonmel and drocheda.? Or how about bloody Sunday. You speak shit about the Ira. But do you think they were the same as the PLO or Nelson Mandelas movement. Fighting for democracy and civil rights. It was tried peacefully but ye shot them down in bloody Sunday. One Thing sultana one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter. Without the ira the Catholics in the North would of been massacred. God save Sultana!
Paisley's religious beliefs have nothing to do with it. And he said that the Pope was the Antichrist - he didn't claim all Roman Catholics were anti-Christs.
What the maker of this video, needed to do more research. This song was about the murder of children because of the warrington bomb. The band gave the profits to the family of the murdered child.
I never said that NI is less violent than the US, I never said the Iraq War was a good idea, and I never said the loyalists are better behaved than the republicans. The anti-war organization Iraq Body Count has counted 45,000 civilian and military killed by all sides, not "hundreds of thousands". It's tragic enough without you exploiting it to smear me. Saying this is not a pro-IRA song isn't hypocritical. Saying you "don't condon [sic] any violence" and then wishing my death, however, is.
I don't understand your complaint. A smear is when you needlessly attack someone's reputation. In this case, watchman241 falsely accused me of supporting the Iraq War and then cited questionable statistics to do it. S/he used a tragedy to attack my reputation because I dislike the IRA. Neither of you have anything constructive to add so you just launch ad hominem attacks. Do you see those killed in Iraq as people, or just as rhetorical clubs used to beat those who disagree with you?
I said two things. 1)This is a pro-Sinn Fein video. 2)This is not a pro-Sinn Fein song. I was wrong about 1) and I apologized, but you took 2) and morphed it beyond all recognition. You do not refute the fact that this song was written about a bomb that killed two boys, but instead project onto me views that bear no resemblance at all to my actual opinions. You simply clicked on my name, saw Old Glory on my page, and assumed I was one of the 30% of Americans who support this administration.
Interesting. The video appears to be more anti-British than anything though. Where are the violent scenes and carnage left behind by the PIRA? Where are the more positive statements made at the time by the Unionist politicians? Where is John Hume even?
kissfan7 But she did make the song to actually to stop the violence between the both, She even said It doesn’t matter about Catholic Or Protestant, She said its about the fact innocent people get killed by the war.
part of ireland. Please tell me a time in irelands history when it was united? Britain conqueres the weak a smart tactic we knew that ireland was split into 6 parts. Look into your history when ireland was known as tara it was never united. It never has been, nor shall it ever been. No surrender to the IRA!
The voice of this artist may have gone, in the streets of Belfast it will sound forever! RIP Dolores O'Riordan

We will soon be united . Our day will soon arrive and those who have gone will rest easy 👊👊
You kinda missed the whole point of the song..
What's the point so
@@galwayman1928 Attempting to unite a country by force. Neither side will ever forgive the other for the spilled blood now.
@@galwayman1928 The song is about peace . You can’t have peace by killing each other .

vividexstance that's when people started to rebel and the events from 1916 went on to inspire others in Ireland to rebel against British rule
I know but I was just replying to your comment about the positive statements from unionist polititions and i was saying there have not been many SINCE '69 which includes the scenes of that film.

He had such a deep rooted hatred for all Irish Catholics. He admitted that, and also in his later years admitted he was so wrong for what he believed

No need to apoligize, it was my misinterpretation. Sorry about that.
There must/can be no peace until the socialist and humanitarian values of the original movement have been met.
