    I have my EV6 GT line about 1 1/2 years. Doing about 35000km or nearly 20.000 miles a year. And i like it, i will keep it. It is my 3rd EV and first did all i want it to do. Including Roadtrips to Austrira, Netherlands, Denmark, Luxenburg. All fine. Range not very good but ok, because it charges so fast, so range is not so importand.

    Took delivery of my 2022 Tesla Model Y Performance in February 2022. I have over 50,000 miles on it and I work from home! I have only purchased 2 gallons of windshield wiper fluid. No other maintenance, I still have the original Michelin pilot sport tires.

    Nice seeing Emad and Jordan together again. Your road trip is what brought me into the Out of Spec World when I was trying to buy an EV6 two years ago. Ended up getting a used M3P due to crazy dealer markups in my area at the time. Happy how things turned out and you guys have a happy subscriber to many of your channels.

    i have EV6 2022 AWD tech July manufactured. I haven't had a single issue with 12v battery... and I hope we keep it that way. I'm sure it will eventually kinda die off as these cars have demanding cycles with the 12v. We shall see.. I had more issues with 12v batteries with my past ICE cars TBH.
    I saw a few used EV6 GT or even new now heavily discounted around 49K with all the dealer discounts and special offers... I wish I could jump on that.

    I almost made it two years in my love affair with my EV6 WIND AWD Tech and then the ICCU went out and I waited 9 weeks for KIA to diagnose and then finally get the part. That entire time I bitched and moaned to my wife how i was going to trade it in as soon as I got it back and buy the new model 3. Now that I finally have it back, I'm in love again, but praying everyday that it lasts.

      When I get the itch to trade, I drive it and realize how easy it is to drive and to just get in and go so then I'm like I'll just keep it

    After 3 months of ownership, I sold my 2022 Kia EV6 GT-line because I wanted an EV with more rear seat space. I had no problems with my Kia EV6 GT-line. I love the car. Currently, I own a 2024 Cadillac Lyriq Sport 3 AWD. Love it!

    I have a 2022 EV6. I love many things with this car but I want to write about the only thing that I hate. We were lied to about OTA updates .When OTAs finally started, they only applied to the infotainment system (maps and music).Since owning the car, there has been several NTSB software 😂recalls, which is expected with cars but I had to go to the dealership for these updates, which included updates to break lights responding to iPedal driving for example. I had to go to the dealership for software update to allow battery preconditioning (which requires waiting weeks for an appt and then leaving your car there all day). Kia says now that they will never allow safety software updates via OTA but are considering it with future models. I wouldn’t believe them anymore until it happens. The lack of NTSB safety OTA updates is a deal breaker for me recommending this car.

    Another lover of both ICE and EV. My 9yo supercharged V8 with 140,000km, plenty at the track needed a break. EV6 GT-Line has taken on daily drive duties, with the V8 now just occasional trips and track days. I utterly enjoy driving both cars.
    I do find the comment about EVs using tyres faster than ICE cars some what wrong headed. Sure my EV6 may wear tyres faster that a camry, but no where near as fast as the V8. You need to remember these EVs are doing 0-100km (0-60mi) in 4 or 5 seconds, you need to compare tyre wear against similarly performing vehicles.

    Good podcast, and I'm tempted to get an EV6 or the Ioniq6 when my wifes' BYD Atto3 needs replacing. The government gave me $6,000 to buy the cheaper BYD and nothing if I bought those Koreans, which I would have preferred. Next time there's no incentive to concider.

    Wonderful car...Thanks for the nice video. I replaced my 12 volt battery after about 6 months with an AGM.... Over a year later and no problems. I have the piece of junk 12 volt battery that came with the car sitting in my garage waiting for Kia to recall them.....That might never happen I know...lol

    • @omelborpon3159
      @omelborpon3159 Месяц назад

      Same here. The AGM battery is more tolerant to being deeply discharged than the OEM. Cheap insurance, imo. AGM battery should be the first "mod" on the EV6.

    Charging at home is a little trickier with one level 2 charger and 2 EVs. So far so good for us, but I can see issues at some point. I may have to put our NEMA-15P connector in service at some point.

    • @phillyphil1513
      @phillyphil1513 4 месяца назад

      exactly, it's simply a crap battery sourced from the lowest bidder in order to save costs. it's the answer we already know. yeah so "come of the dime" and replace it with a high quality aftermarket battery of the proper type and rating and the problems will disappear. also remember what should NOT be fitted are your typical high CCA batteries that go into ICE vehicles, those batteries are designed to intermittently turn starters, and a starter is exactly what you DON'T have in an EV. for better or worse EV's are indeed fancy Golf Carts.

    19:00 What's hard about changing a 12V battery? Am I missing something? I've done it in ICE cars for 35 years and on my Hyundai 6, the ICE battery is right there- made to be changed out or jumped.

      I have a 2011 MB SLK350 that has to have the battery charged every week. I have been to four Auto Electricians over four years and all say they can find no drain. The last one said all it needs is a quality, powerful battery, so I got it and it was dead flat in ten days. Is there anyone in the world who understands what's going on?

    Thanks for the update, Emad is so correct the dealer sales/service model is so very broken in most cities. Kia/Hyundai/Genesis with virtually no useful OTA updates, and design flaws like the 12v & ICCU issues. GM & Ford don’t have qualified techs to work on EV’s and untrained people selling them (or not).

    I don’t get people. Dude has 2 ice cars and one EV but they mostly drive the EV which is still financed. Why not sell one ICE car and just pay off the EV? Also no point in wasting money on insurance for cars not being driven.
