  • I drove the Honda Accord Hybrid 2019 base model for three weeks with 1000+ miles on the road and here is my honest review. This is suppose to be the most efficient 48/48 city/hwy MPG hybrid car and I was not seeing those numbers. This car comes with nitrogen filled tires, Honda Sensing technology and 3 engine modes. I will show you the real MPG for this car and more. I will share with you the good and the bad discoveries. Overall this is a great car to buy under $25k, see my other videos on pricing and other reviews of this car.
The Honda Accord Hybrid has a combined 212 HP. The all-aluminum, 16-valve DOHC 2.0L i-VTEC Atkinson Cycle I-4 generates 143 hp and 129 lb.-ft. (175 Nm) of torque, while the electric motor contributes up to 181 hp and 232 lb.-ft. (315 Nm) for total combined system output of 212 hp.

I just got my 2019 Honda Accord Hybrid EX-L a month ago. After 1500 miles and experimentation with drive modes and driving habits, I can safely conclude that the car can achieve the claim 48mpg. I have a 55 mile commute to work each way. However, conditions apply which include the following: be gentle on the gas pedal, drive in normal mode, do not drive over 70mph for too long (keep between 60-70mph for most of drive on highway), keep the rpm gauge within the solid blue range most of the time as this will determine if EV mode will kick in. The car will constantly switch between gas and EV assist when the battery capacity is almost or half charged while in gas mode. This constant switching between gas and EV is how you achieve the better mpg. I get between 47.6 to 50.2mpg on a regular basis this way. The times I don't is when I drive more aggressively and over 70mph more often. My take on why is because I noticed the car stays in gas mode longer to keep the car at that speed. Gas mode has the needed horsepower to keep car at higher speed. As a result, that uses more gas and therefore, lowers the mpg. Hope this helps anyone else that isn't getting the claim 48mpg with their Accord hybrids.

So when I looked this car up it tries to say that it can go 600 miles on one tank of gas. Evidently that is not true after watching this video. This really sucks because this was the car that I had my eye on

In warmer weather you can get close to 560-580 miles per tank, but not in cold weather. In summer I get 46 mpg vs winter 38 mpg.

It’s all in how you drive and where .... I can get 55 mpg out of my 2019 Honda Accord hybrid and have been avging better than 48 mpg Ev mode and then the green leaves can help you gain extra miles no need too race lol 😂 its a hybrid !!!!!! The goal is too get free miles why spend gas ⛽️ with your foot non stop it has enough power for a hybrid and yes sport mode is weak I have driven faster .... lol 😂 lmfao let’s race !!!!!!!!! Lol 😂 hybrid races lol 😂 who the fuck drag races in a accord I’ll laugh and wreck !!!!!!! Why buy a hybrid and never try its best feature Ev mode with green tea 🍵 leaves 🍁 you can get further plus it’s not a race when trying too save gas it’s a hybrid !!!!!!!!!!! Lol 😂 just saying it’s how you drive it you can get more if you learn how too use it

I appreciate your attempt to help people by sharing your experience. Unfortunately, this is an example of how not to do it. Instead, you can do a one minute video on what happened with one power point slide. If you want more subscribers, the best way to do that is to respect your viewers' time, and offer content that is packed with substance. Jerky videos with meandering thoughts won't cut it. You might want to find some best practices and adopt them.
