I don't know if it is different in Canada. But in USA, your regen settings stay if you are in SPORT mode, and reset if not. I guess the idea is that people who don't want as much control will not use SPORT, and those who do will. BUT... all it really changes is the amount of regen applied when you aren't pressing either the gas pedal or the brake pedal. If you use the brake pedal to slow down at the same rate as you would on "REGEN:>>>>", you get the same charging rate.
