Does any one else have the problem where they think up a wonderful picture but can't describe or draw it correctly and are upset because they can't show people their thought of the art they want
totally, i think a lot of times its better to just start drawing than to keep thinking about your idea and perfecting it in your head because it will almost never come out looking exactly how you envision it
SkribbleZ Do your sketch with 100% opacity with the same colour you'll use for your outline, then once you're done decrease it to like 30% or smtn and start off with the outline. You'll immediately notice if you're on the right layer ;)
"Don't burn yourself out and try not to draw so much to hurt yourself. Remember to stand up and take stretches. It can be really harmful to yourself if your leaning over all the time." *me realizing I do all of these*
whenever i draw, i imagine something so crisp, clean, and beautiful in my head, and when it doesnt turn out like that, i completely lose my motivations and dont draw for days. it sucks :(
keep trying, if you stop that means you think you will never improve, and you're slowly making that possibility inch towards being 100%, and you don't want that, if you want to get better, step out of your comfort zone, make yourself practice, cuz it was hard for me to decide that i'm trash at drawing and i need to practice
A tip I have for that is to draw without having a clear image in your head. I like to watch art videos, or videos of people going though their sketchbook, or even videos of people talking with fun facial expressions, and then draw whats there. This doesn't necessarily help you get better at drawing whats in your head, but it helps you 1.) Get better, and 2.) Know your art style/strengths/limitations. And that will indirectly help you with drawing that mental image.
When that happens to me I try to draw at least some kind of head or eyes so that I'm practicing some kind of thing in drawing so I'm drawing while upset about that "bad" drawing.
Idk Fam I used to do this, and still do. And I would give up when it didn't start to look right. But now I follow through, because sometimes it may be better than you imagined. Or at least you tried so hard that you can be proud of yourself :)
The thing that bothers me the most when I'm drawing is when the paper crumples or bends when I'm erasing or trying to do other things and is is so annoying
sketchbooks tend to have stronger paper, and try to erase in 1 direction, for example, put your hand at the bottom of the paper of the thing you're trying to erase is towards the top, then erase going from a bottom to top motion, that'll help you out a lot
Yea i gave up on being annoyed and just stayed at getting dissapointed, but hey we need to make mistakes. I also get to here that alot of people i show my drawings like the imperfections cause it shows it was made by a person. Ugh...
God if one thing completely flipped the way I thought of art, it would be watercolor. It's just so forgiving. You can really let yourself go and not think and just create. I never feel more free than when I'm doing watercolor painting.
Despite my last comment, don't do what I used to do. If you draw something that you think looks bad, _Do_ . *Not* . *_Rip it out_* . Keep it, keep everything. When you look back years later, it'll be nice to see your progress
Yeah I remember i tossed out my sketchbooks and drawings from when I was 8 and below so know I didn’t get to see the progress from when I was 8 or seven when I grew older.
I hate it when I have this perfect drawing in my head, but then when I try to draw it I realize I can't and give up because I'm afraid it's going to look a lot worse than it did in my head 😥
My biggest slip-up? Staying in my comfort zone. I've currently got an anime-type style I'm pretty happy with, but I can't draw guys to save my life. They all look too feminine. This is why art tutorials exist. Hopefully I can learn some new stuff!
*For Beginners* You may or may not love your art but trust me, if it's bad now it'll definitely get better in the future. Especially if you keep watching this RUclipsr. She's really a inspiration to me and others here, She'll really help you approve and because of her, I can draw people alittle better now.
I've noticed I draw characters in the same poses all the time. Like you said, 45 degrees, shoulders up, and eyes looking the opposite way the head is facing. So I'm trying to fix this by drawing in different poses, etc.
Creative Rabbit I always do that too. I draw my characters facing straight, arms down. I noticed that in all of my drawings I did the same position so I as well am trying to change my position
I have the EXACT same problem. I try to practice bodies and poses or change the facial angle/expression sometimes, but yeah. Whenever I draw without thinking it's 45 degrees, shoulders up, eyes looking opposite, closed-mouth smile.
I think the point there was not to make your things look too similar when it comes to drawing the same stuff, like she was saying with giving every character the same pose and face. With the not drawing a bunch of different things, I do agree I think that was meant more if you're going for some sort of portfolio or identity as an artist (I just draw what I feel like and am not professional in any way, so that one's less applicable to me)
no draw a bunch of things, her point was more in regards to what you post and show to other people in regards to what sort of artist you want to be to other people. its great to draw a lot and be very versatile! but know what makes you unique as an artist and use that to your advantage, your life style studies dont necessarily need to be in your portfolio
I think that's basically advice for artists who want their art to become a capitalist investment product. Switching style could hurt the investment value of their already sold work.
1. Drawing dirty things when your not even dirty minded 2. Eating while drawing on paper... 3. drawing weird and embarrassing things in the margins of your school notebooks (we all do that, right?) 4. Drawing do much that you get grounded for not turning in yo math homework 5. NOT GETTING ENOUGH SLEEP FROM DRAWING LATE AT NIGHT Cya
I can relate to 5 but the thing is: When I draw something late at night,go to sleep and look at it in the morning I ask myself:"WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DRAW!?!?!?"
i don't think the first is a problem. sexual feelings are a natural part of life and expressing those through art is great i think! although you should definitely work on taking care of your hody and make sure to do your homework!
thinthle haha so true!!!! Ok so I'll start an artwork and I'll just lose myself...in youtubers' stories and cool art videos like this and by the time the day ends, I'll find that I only inked a couple of lines. S a d n e s s
SAME! It's so hard to tear yourself away when people do such interesting things! (the worst part is that I've seen most of lavendertowne's videos multiple times :/)
Here are my problems: •I somewhat struggle with a bit of same face syndrome. I'm getting better at dealing with it, but it's still a small problem for me. •My anatomy (especially for dudes) is extremely boring. There's little to no variety in body shapes. • I'm not getting out of my comfort zone. I recently got my first drawing tablet, and I've barely used it. • I stay up WAY too late at night working on art (especially on school nights). • My art never looks how I want it to. • I am way too harsh on my art, especially my old art. These are just a few of my problems, so yeah. I got a long way to go.
For the male body thing I would recommend doing some figure studies, just drawing out different body shapes (there’s a website called line of motion I do believe-that’s really good for that) Then just apply some of the body types you saw and drew into more of your art ^.^
I have these same problems! I really love to draw but I try not to stop, even with art block! if you have art block, a fun thing to do is go on google images and search up drawing prompts! ive gotten better with these problems, im still way to harsh on old art .
watch some art tutorials that really helped me with a few of these so there’s rapid fire art, Proko and , lavendertowne these are just a few that helped me so don’t worry if they don’t work for you cuz everyone has different taste and etc so just carry on looking for stuff that can help you!
okay well update: i can do poses, cant do backgrounds still, and i can do different angles. BUT im still trying to get proportions right, and i cant seem to shade clothing very well.
I try to avoid the first issue but as a perfectionist it's really hard. I also always compare my art with others and set my standards too high for myself 😟 I used to take art lessons and my teacher was a wizard with watercolours. I had trouble with staying within the lines and the water control and seeing her work made me set my standards WAYYYY too high for myself. I do know my problems but I can't seem to fix them.
Christi Don't worry, your perfectionist habits may have some downsides, but I think you'll grow out of it. Every professional was a beginner at first. But NEVER compare your art to others. Its very bad and will damage your confidence. Just keep in mind that other people who have really good art have practiced for years and years, so if you can keep on practicing, you will one day be as good as them.
Christi Same. im 12, and I compare myself with 32 year old proffessional artists, telling myself im shit. And it does not help... Im trying not to be a perfectionist, and it helped me finish my drawings.
That last one tho. Okay I started seriously drawing at 8 and I always slouched and never stretched and I always sat in weird positions, and now I'm 16 and I have back problems which makes me feel 80 years old
I had "same-drawing syndrome" thing myself. I call it my "wolf phase", as I was obsessed with a certain deviant's style and subject (GimmeYoMuffinXD's Dawn Of The Wolves, to be exact), and I basically adapted a worse version of their style for awhile and I was just drawing wolves, from the same angle, same face shape, same body type. They looked decent, but looking back now... dark times. Dark times.
@@phoebewong7894 My style changed a lot, too. First there was just a small change where I switched from cel shading to soft shading but then I changed the way I drew hair THREE TIMES, then the way I drew eyes changed twice, then how I drew faces changed and then how I drew eyes changed again 😂
You'll get it! Watch her "finding your style" video. Just make some rules for yourself and stick to them any time you draw. Don't get discouraged. Much love ♡
One day your style will be more consistent. It never stops changing or evolving, but it'll become obviously yours after a little while. Never give up and never stop drawing! Looking back once you've developed your style, you'll be able to notice when it started showing up! It's a really cool feeling :3
I had the problem of disliking my art, but then I took some advise from a friend: "Take that inner perfectionist who's holding you back and PUNCH 'EM IN THE FACE"
Bobby Chiu, a man whose advice I cherish, said something something very similar, except replace "inner perfectionist" with a "whiny, don't-wanna-draw-anything person".
Brianna Kennedy Samee but I think your art is cool I’m 11 so lol I recommend practicing anatomy it will help so much just practice the things you think look bad on your art and use references and sometimes you can trace anatomy pics to help you just find the shapes of it so keep up the good work
i always draw inside my comfort zone, when i try to challenge myself the bodies always look weird and i find all kinds of errors, that’s why my art never improves.
I really like how your voiceovers have developed over time. Earlier in your channel, your voice was quiet and calming, but it sounded very shy or timid. Now it's still soft, but it's more confident and still just as calming. I love it!
I have a million different styles for different characters and I can't draw 'em in different styles I can't stick one style because I look at other art and I'm just "I love that I wanna draw like that!" and then I another one from a different person and I'm just "No I wanna draw like that!" and it's really hard to stop even when I'm not looking at other art.
Starry Soup yeah I feel you, I'm still trying to find my style and everytime I look at one style I try it out. and I get really frustrated with myself because once I admire one style I immediately want to do it for myself
Starry Soup a good way to sorta avoid that is to completely avoid art on social media for around maybe a few months. Then you won't be surrounded by all the the different styles that seem to call out to you and you'll be able to work on finding your own style.
To the first thing: I lowkey am the opposite of this. I don't give it enough time and give up very fast. Then I'm super dissappointed that it didn't turn out how I wanted it and think that I can't draw professionally and never will.
heisses girl256 msp - Honestly, I have the same problem too. I’m not that good at giving advice, but I think that if you have an actual idea for a piece, you should sketch it out first. Sketching it out can really help the final piece as a whole and you can know where everything will be executed and what problems it has. Also, with a quick sketch, it doesn’t take that much time. Of course, that’s with only one drawing. Hope that kinda helped :)
I am horrible with being a perfectionist. Even in kindergarten I would beat my self up because I felt like I wasn't doing anything right, but now thankfully I am getting better and better slowly ☺️
rain shadow That's great. I'm the same way. Because my older sister is an artist, i was never as good as her. Still am not, but i'm okay with that now :)
rain shadow same but im not getting better :( there is always a fear in me that some people will pass me because im not good enough... Even im scared of my own sister and she is only 6. I feel like if i cant be good at art im nothing. Im so stressed these days
Pufni For me, it helped to see other people make mistakes too. And also, I realised that I wasn't getting anywhere because of my fear of making mistakes. And also, i guess if you want to be famous and have people like your art you would want to please them with it. But i decided if i like it, that's good enough. And that has helped a LOT. And people will still criticize, and you might not be please with a lot of your drawings. But pay more attention to the ones you love, that made you proud to be their artist
Person: Can I look in your sketchbook? Me: Go ahead I guess. Person: *looks at a drawing* Person: Who drew this? Me: *WELL WHOS SKETCHBOOK IS IT?* Edit: I've never got likes why is this happening stop liking what is going on pls another edit: WHAT THE HECK THIS IS MY FIRST TIME GETTING SO MANY LIKES I WISH MY VIDEOS GOT THESE
Not taking the frikking time to draw. When in artschool you draw 24/7 and all you do is draw and its super easy and fun and exciting and then you grow up and strart a fulltime job and all of the sudden you dont take the time to draw cuz... time. who has it?
Err I know you didn't mean too but it's like you're insulting artist (even though you are one) you dont just draw and have a good time in art school. Well maybe you did.
The only way I can actually draw consistently is if I'm in an art class because I have something I have to do and won't necessarily hate, but at the same time, none of my own works in that time period are my best works. My best works are when I haven't drawn in a whole while and suddenly pick up a pencil. I'm getting over that hurdle now but it's kinda hard 😔
The first one. I was nitpicking my work so much that I decided to stop drawing when I was 11 then started back up when I reached 16. But I like my art now yeah there's some times where I feel it's still bad but it's not as bad as it was a long time ago
meower 808 make sure to do back stretching before and and after, it will help with pain and flex your muscles to help heal your injury. My husband has to do them but he has a war injury. It helps :)
Elika Adam thank you for the suggestion, I will try it. The thing is, I'm on vacation and I drove 5 hours non stop yesterday, and today I have another 4 hour drive. R.I.P. Muscles. I will do it when I can tho.
+meower 808 Awww that's sounds very painful, I wish I could help 😭❤️ the only thing I could give for advice is take a lot of breaks in between but never give up! Best wishes~~😊❤️
and this is why i kinda regret making such an easy cast of characters in a simple world that can be simply turned into a load of AU's, *sigh* atleast im only now reaching about 20 AU's and not already in the triple digits
I am currently undergoing the style jumping mistake and to be honest, I am unsure of how to go about fixing it. I just continue to try and draw and see what I like. I am noticing I consistently want to do more realistic stuff so I hope to begin leaning more in that direction but sometimes I go the direct opposite way and I just feel lost of how to keep consistent with my wishes for a style.
Stardust and Sognatrici I don't really have a style either, I just jump back and fourth with stuff that I like. So I suggest looking at some artist with styles you really like and throw them together to make your own style. I hope this maybe helped a little c:
Stardust and Sognatrici If you really want to draw more realistically, I recommend looking up references and learning basic anatomy. You also don't have to worry about your style, because it just comes naturally to you eventually. Hope this helped!
From what I can tell, you're actually on your way to finding your style! You can have both a cartoon and realistic style, but no matter what you do I really recommend figure studies :3 it'll help you a lot either way. If you take a little break from looking at others art, you can actually find yourself a lot faster depending on how often you draw.
Just a month ago a used to only draw people in a few ways: a profile (mostly shoulders and down) or a front view (mostly full bodies) in graphite. My aunt, a former art teacher, went through my sketchbook and saw that, pointing out that I should use other mediums and do characters in different poses. Now, I almost never draw someone standing without doing some sort I pose in some of my favorite pens 🤗
@LavenderTowne Would you be open to doing a whole video on getting projects started?? This is the biggest thing thats really keeping me form advancing as a artist as I can never seem to follow through on projects I create for myself.
My biggest problem right now is that I keep trying to tie myself down to a style, then start to hate that style a week later. I don't know how to fix this with anything other than time :/ Any advice?
Necco Dealer don't stress finding a style just draw what you want to draw and slowly take little things that you like away from other styles and create your own unique style. If you don't like it after a while then don't stress it! Art is fun if you just C H I L L
Necco Dealer Don't force a style, let it come on it's own. Later on you'll see hints of your own style popping up. Look up style videos. And try to draw other styles just for fun. You don't have to find your style yet, though I know how frustrating it is to not really HAVE a style. It'll come sooner or later, i'm sure of it. I hope you start to see it soon. I know i tried to force styles that i liked, but it wasn't my own and didn't work. So I understand the feeling. Just don't overthink it.
Awe thanks everyone. Your tips are helping a lot. For know, I'm just going to work on drawing more, to learn new ways to draw the same style, or learn to draw and sketch faster. You guys really helped, thanks.
This is just a little something- whenever you get really frustrated with your art, try getting a snack or taking a nap, go outside and get some fresh air if you can.
it's so sweet how she warns us so genuinely about hurting ourselves when we're drawing :) in what i've seen she's one of the only ppl giving art advice that addresses this, so thank you haley ♡♡ also it's crazy how much her art has improved wow >:0
I have been feeling really stuck in my art for a couple months and don't really know what to do. I really want to draw but I end up hating everything on the paper. Since this has been going on for so long I have almost no faith in being a professional artist since i feel as if i lack the skills which my friends have. And lastly since in the past I've been so interested in art that my family is cheering me on and they want to see me succeed in art but that makes me feel pressured and afraid almost to draw. If anybody has any suggestions of what to do please help. Edit: OMG Thank you for all the good reply's I will keep trying because of this. Once again, Thank you
Maybeee you could try creating a character or scene inspired by an certain object's color and shape? Lol idk why im giving suggestions i dont have the age or skill
//Gothic God// I totally get what you feel. Its likely you are a great artist and just cant see your own skill. Just keep in mind its totally up to you if you want to draw or not. Other people dont matter, its just for fun. If you want to take that fun to a professional level than just relax. Thats my take on it i guess.. SHORT VERSION: relax. Just do it for fun :D
//Gothic God// Stay determined! You're not Picasso, no one in our generation is. But we do need to have faith in your skills because everyone experiences art block. You just need to find your big inspiration. Something that you love so much and that you want to keep drawing until its picture perfect
//Gothic God// If its pressuring you that bad then explain to them that art isn't just something you have have an idea and then *slap* it on paper then DONE it just looks good. Your parents probably don't realize art takes a lot more than just an idea and pencil and paper ( or tablet and pen ) As for your art issue, I'd say, keep drawing. Even if you don't like it then oh well. Even a simple drawing that looks bad can help you. Take what you don't like about that drawing and change it in the next or leave it out. Try and use references they help A LOT. (Sorry for bad grammar but I hope this helped
I'm currently ten and I started drawing when I was five. I found that I had been playing into some of these mistakes. Especially the last one. Thank you so much for pointing these out! It really helped because now I know what to work on.
The last one is extremely true for anything. I am an "artist" plus a musician and athlete and any bad habit is horrible and I can say I have some bad habits that have left my body extremely damaged.
The first one you talked about was kinda me. I have art friends but usually they don't understand my kind of style, see here whenever I do rough sketches that need to be traced over, my friends would point out the mistakes that I haven't fixed."oh where are her eyes?" " whereas the nose?" ''The hair!" These kind of questions are what they ask me. And when do showing them my art there is honestly one or two who dislike it which makes me want every picture in my skatchbook to be perfect....
FrENCh_FriES ;3 - I have the same kind of problem. I’ll start drawing something and instead of it looking a little wonky, it looks kind of good. But once i finish it, i kind of ‘ruin’ it by touching it up and outlining it. But all that i can think is that even if nobody else likes it, as long as you tried and you could picture what you were trying to draw it’s a good picture. Sure the actual drawing isn’t always the best, but from practicing drawing that same picture, maybe you’ll be able to draw it the way you picture it. Hope that kinda helped :D
My biggest problem is that I can't get out of the anime phase!! I just can't seem to find my style!! Im not sure if it just takes time or what, but it's just been a big problem
Tsundere Girl You could try to mix some styles.Look at art styles you like and try to incorporate parts that you like in your style. You could also look at reality for inspiration, just take what you like and see if that's an art style you'd like to have. That's what I did to find mine. Also don't draw only in that style when you find it,continue to experiment with new ways of drawing or try replicating the style of an artist you like just to try it.But be sure to say it's inspired by that artist. I hope that this helps and that soon you'll find your art style!
Tsundere Girl I did anime for like 5 years and I've been drawing for 6 or 7 (since I was five) and it takes time to change you're style. Actually it was LavenderTowne that inspired me to draw cartoons. :3
I used to be in anime phrase few years ago, and I thought "Damn, I need to get out of this and find my style!". I started drawing more cartoonish-realistic characters. And lately I realized that I can't draw anime anymore lmao be careful with that buddy.
I do have the problem where I get upset at my art and myself if I make a mistake. another thing I have a problem is, is that I whenever I draw I don't like my style. and sometimes I love my style. I'm trying to get out of those habits.
I used to draw some strange kind of figures without knowing whats anatomy(I think that's the word) and it was AWFUL! But now I draw some nice people, my main characters in my main stories. ^-^
ShortMelon Comics Na, I'm sorry, I write them out of fun, but I would REALLY love to. Especially on WattPad, but I'm not allowed to upload yet bc of my parents...
Poppy TheStorywriter I know how you feel I have really good story ideas but mom can get a little to over protective when is comes to me making comic books and writing stories
Wow, it's the complete opposite for me. My friends/family encourage me to make comics because they think my style would suit them, but i'm just not that into comics.
my biggest struggle is consistency i draw both digital and traditional and my style kind of changes from each drawing and even tho i think they are decent they look like diffrent people drew them
Same, the more I draw something if it was awful it looks better and if it was good it looks more like poop, and my drawing style is way more realistic for the head when I draw on paper and way more realistic for the body when I draw digital, and the body is super just alien like looking when I draw traditional and the head is decent when I draw digital depending
Me: -constantly has exams which require you to write 4+ hours in one sitting -Has regular Lessons and homework which require a lot of writing -Has bad eyes which means i hang over my papers in weird/not good poses when writing/drawing/studying -Needs to cook for myself -Draws in every free Minute -Dances since a long Time already -puzzles in every free secound Me : Why do i have problems with my hands/ wrist/arms/back hurting all the time i aint doing anything bad
With the internet and videos like yours out there giving advice on how to improve art will really influence the next genarations of artits and produce high standerd art :)
I have an annoying voice inside me that keeps telling me that I'm not good.... I only get complements from people at school cause they don't draw... Edit: because of this I keep giving up drawing and than I come back to it and I can't do detail at all!
well then don't do detail, the first steps are simplistic, practice circles, perspective cubes "no need for shading", squares, trinagles, also ellipses are very useful in drawing, practice them too, try doing straight lines parallel to each other, make a dot from 1 place to another and try to make a line that goes straight and touches both points at least with some visual que of precision, and a small message to Chioma Egu, motivational sentences should have some advice, just take it from this wonderful man called me
Dank Meme I'm not completely sure about that, but I belive that in any position you are drawing it can still cause damage to the hand and wrist. Not really sure if it would cause damage to the back though,it could also cause damage to the neck (depends on how you're laying down)
ParaSkulls do some stretches, you can build more muscles in your back. It's good not to slouch when drawing and with practice you'll stop but for now you need to strengthen your back.
ParaSkulls go to the doctor. I had back pain and it turned into me not being able to walk for half a year and needing surgery. You might just need physical therapy
I really have a problem with my art styles being strikingly different from each other, but I don't worry myself too much about it, considering I _do_ have a main style. I also have a big problem with the "take a break" thing. My back suffers.
Oh god, perfectionism and drawing the same thing. That's just me. I tend to have a specific standard I hold my art to, and if the first sketch/lineart (sometimes i don't need a sketch) sucks then I'll erase it and start from the begining. Now to be fair, it sometimes actually works to create stuff I'm satisfied with but still. I really need to stop. It sort of goes hand in hand with drawing the same thing. I gotta start drawing people in better poses or backgrounds or people and backgrounds or something because it's starting to get a bit boring to be honest. I'm looking into thinking of more creative/daring stuff right after this video. But yes thank u uwu
My art mistake is i get bored of my art which makes me leave it alone. I barley like drawing. But i want to be an artist. So i force it. Its a habit at this point;;
I sort of have a similar problem. I start drawing something, but then I can't seem to get back to it. It's usually because I'm busy, but when I'm not busy, I just feel too tired to do it
My Cousin was watching one of your videos and I started watching it with her. I immediately fell in love no joke. I asked her for your channel name, quickly looked it up on my phone and subscribed. That was a few days ago and I've watched loads of your videos. I just want you to know that I look up to you so much, find your tips really helpful, love your art style, love you and enjoy your videos loads. ❤❤❤
Perfectionism was the killer of my art. I got so insecure with my artwork that I actually got depressed or anxiety when I went to draw. That was back when I was 13. I'm 20 now and barely started drawing again, and I'm applying for an art school next spring. Perfectionism was my biggest issue and I'm so glad that it doesn't seem to bother me as much anymore. It feels good to draw again.
I was always imagining that I want to make a cartoon when I grow up... It was taking me forever to think about it... I don't like to draw my imagination just I wanted to think about it until I grow up. When I saw this video, I realised it that I was wrong because it's taking me forever to think about my imagination. Instead of imagining my dreams, I will draw it until I will improve. Thank you for making this video! ^^
Watching you erase something and redraw it a bunch of times makes me feel a lot better because when I don’t draw something right the first time I feel like I’m awful
I wouldn't say that is a good habit because sometimes you can look at better artists for inspiration. But I will say that you should NEVER compare yourself to a better artist. If you practice enough, you will be as good as them, and maybe even better! Everybody can draw well if they just practice.
well, i'll give you some tips for better analysis that'll help you keep your sketchbook intact first, watch an influx of tutorials of mistakes artists make, blending tutorials, brushes, highlights and shading, colors, anatomy, all o that, then go watch a good artist do some speed art, and see if you can find out what they are using from the things you learned, and that way you'll have learned how to draw something, and how to actually apply it
Everyone: I can't get out of my comfort zone! Me: what's a comfort zone? I don't even have a style! I hate drawing people but I still have tons of people sketches because I want to improve on it, I love drawing scenery so I have a few of those, I'll doodle abstract when I'm bored and have no ideas, sometimes I draw random objects in a cartoonish realish way, then there are the drawing I focus on shading and trying to make it look professional
Awesome! Keep it up, dude. Never give up. Even if you might get discouraged sometimes, don't let it really get to you. I started seriously drawing around your age. Explore all of your ideas and styles, you've got the whole universe at your fingertips. Much love
Watching these videos really makes me more motivated to draw. I’ve been frustrated with my art since I hate my art style and can’t make it change. But you really make me feel better about it. I have nothing else to say but thank you.
My biggest problem is imagining alot of amazing, creative or clean ideas but it just gets worse when I finally try drawing it. Then after that I'll just lose all my motivation and doesn't draw for days which really sucks
I love the HP bar you added. It's so cute, and it gives it a more nerdy feel. I really love your style, and Unfamiliar is coming along very nicely. I enjoy your channel and your art, and I'm 11 and have a habit of leaning over my sketchbook when I draw, but because of what you said, I'll try to sit up straighter. Thank you so much. I love you!
Omg thank you for uploading this I've had an artist's block for like 2 weeks and now I know why-- I stayed in my comfort zone. Drawing different wolves in the same position. Now maybe I can jot some ideas down.
Really? Not even from your favorite books, TV shows, or movies? Other artists can inspire you as well. Also, things you just see in general that you really like, such as a sunset, or a guy with a stupid shirt. TL;DR: Just get inspiration from things that interest you. You'll be inspired one day.
Well, all I can suggest is that whenever you do have those split seconds for inspiration, try to remember whatever gave it to you as much as you can. Write it down, or take a pic of it if you can. Just keep trying. Something will inspire you to draw someday.
I'm so glad you included artist's injuries. I spent all day, every day, morning till night, drawing. I ended up not being able to draw for over a year due to pain. Wearing splints and spending tons of money on doctors is definitely not worth it
Does any one else have the problem where they think up a wonderful picture but can't describe or draw it correctly and are upset because they can't show people their thought of the art they want
GwenPuff Thomas I do.... sometimes... I think of something cool... and it never turns out the I wanted it to..... 😓
Yeah, and I would ask my brother to draw something for me to show it, but... I can't describe it.
Bride Of_Taro Yamada yes. This happens to me all the time when I was a kid.
Gwen-Chan And Taro Yamada yessss
totally, i think a lot of times its better to just start drawing than to keep thinking about your idea and perfecting it in your head because it will almost never come out looking exactly how you envision it
*when you draw the lineart in the same layer as the sketch*
*inhales deeply*
SkribbleZ sketch in a different colour so then it's not the end of the world if you accidentally do that
SkribbleZ Do your sketch with 100% opacity with the same colour you'll use for your outline, then once you're done decrease it to like 30% or smtn and start off with the outline. You'll immediately notice if you're on the right layer ;)
when this happens i rage and close the drawing ~--~ its sad

"Don't burn yourself out and try not to draw so much to hurt yourself. Remember to stand up and take stretches. It can be really harmful to yourself if your leaning over all the time." *me realizing I do all of these*
Two Girls and A hotel room _that sucks._
whenever i draw, i imagine something so crisp, clean, and beautiful in my head, and when it doesnt turn out like that, i completely lose my motivations and dont draw for days. it sucks :(
yesss me too!
I feel you 🖖
keep trying, if you stop that means you think you will never improve, and you're slowly making that possibility inch towards being 100%, and you don't want that, if you want to get better, step out of your comfort zone, make yourself practice, cuz it was hard for me to decide that i'm trash at drawing and i need to practice
My biggest problem is probably having way too many ideas for drawings but when you try making it, it ends up nothing like you wanted it to be.
My trick around this is to not completely try to make it like in my head, but it doesn't always work.
Idk Fam I used to do this, and still do. And I would give up when it didn't start to look right. But now I follow through, because sometimes it may be better than you imagined. Or at least you tried so hard that you can be proud of yourself :)
So tru
Idk Fam
Develop your drawing and your next problem will be the lack of ideas.
Practice.
I used to struggle with that...till I got my sketchbook lmao (i was onky using a notebook)
I'd suggest erasing outward at the corners--if you do that--, and hold down the area where you're erasing so it's less likely to crumple.
That is why I draw digitally👍
Definitely!
Perfectionism. YES! I gave that up when I moved to watercolor from digital and embracing the mistakes is so nice!
Kasey Golden >:0
Yea i gave up on being annoyed and just stayed at getting dissapointed, but hey we need to make mistakes. I also get to here that alot of people i show my drawings like the imperfections cause it shows it was made by a person. Ugh...
Kasey you are literally everywhere :D
God if one thing completely flipped the way I thought of art, it would be watercolor. It's just so forgiving. You can really let yourself go and not think and just create. I never feel more free than when I'm doing watercolor painting.
YOU'RE A FAN OF LAVENDERTOWNE OMG
I have a very unique drawing style called "I Tried"
Skiboy I feel called out.
Start with stick men. My advice to all :)
Skiboy same
Weird, mine is called I Tried too
Is this a call out? Cuz I came here to have a gud time :c
Despite my last comment, don't do what I used to do. If you draw something that you think looks bad, _Do_ . *Not* . *_Rip it out_* . Keep it, keep everything. When you look back years later, it'll be nice to see your progress
Oof I just ripped out 10 pages in my sketch book ;-;
Tell that to my friend.
Yeah I remember i tossed out my sketchbooks and drawings from when I was 8 and below so know I didn’t get to see the progress from when I was 8 or seven when I grew older.
Great minds think alike 😉
I can be harsh on myself so the old drawings are proof i indeed improved and see how far i've come 😇
I hate it when I have this perfect drawing in my head, but then when I try to draw it I realize I can't and give up because I'm afraid it's going to look a lot worse than it did in my head 😥
"bad posture" I feel called out
SAAAAAAAME! My back and such are currently dead.
Silas Robertson yep me too
I was literally curled around my sketchbook as she said that...
i had to install a GOOGLE EXTENSION to fix my bad posture
Lol SAME
My biggest slip-up? Staying in my comfort zone. I've currently got an anime-type style I'm pretty happy with, but I can't draw guys to save my life. They all look too feminine. This is why art tutorials exist. Hopefully I can learn some new stuff!
Pikapower Kirby XD I usually draw boys with a backwards baseball cap..l
This tutorial helped me! 😀:

*For Beginners*
You may or may not love your art but trust me, if it's bad now it'll definitely get better in the future. Especially if you keep watching this RUclipsr. She's really a inspiration to me and others here, She'll really help you approve and because of her, I can draw people alittle better now.
Thanks :)
I'm not a beginner but thanks
You could also watch draw like a sir , I find his tutorials very helpful
You know what I hate the most....
When one eye doesn't match the other
rel8able
Just dont draw the eyes
Yaaaaaaass
Draw both of the eyes at the same time
(Not exactly, but u get what I mean)
OMG I HATE IT! SO I EITHER COVER IT IT OR JUST DO THE OTHER EYE CLOSED
Creative Rabbit Same...
I have the EXACT same problem. I try to practice bodies and poses or change the facial angle/expression sometimes, but yeah. Whenever I draw without thinking it's 45 degrees, shoulders up, eyes looking opposite, closed-mouth smile.
Creative Rabbit I DO THAT ALL THE TIME AND I NEVER REALIZED IT
The Sketching Dork I used to do that but not that much anymore!!
*tells us not to draw the same things*
*immediately tells us not to draw a bunch of different things*
me: *sweats nervously*
HilariouslyScary you can draw different things, just maybe dont put them in a portfolio
Obnoxious, but consistent!
I think that's basically advice for artists who want their art to become a capitalist investment product. Switching style could hurt the investment value of their already sold work.
1. Drawing dirty things when your not even dirty minded
2. Eating while drawing on paper...
3. drawing weird and embarrassing things in the margins of your school notebooks (we all do that, right?)
4. Drawing do much that you get grounded for not turning in yo math homework
5. NOT GETTING ENOUGH SLEEP FROM DRAWING LATE AT NIGHT
Cya
I can relate to 5 but the thing is:
When I draw something late at night,go to sleep and look at it in the morning I ask myself:"WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DRAW!?!?!?"
i don't think the first is a problem. sexual feelings are a natural part of life and expressing those through art is great i think! although you should definitely work on taking care of your hody and make sure to do your homework!
Why does this describes my life? Help.
The first isn't a bad thing drawing lewds is great for anatomy
I agree but I am 365% of number 5
My biggest art mistake is definitely procrastinating by watching cool videos like these :')
thinthle haha so true!!!! Ok so I'll start an artwork and I'll just lose myself...in youtubers' stories and cool art videos like this and by the time the day ends, I'll find that I only inked a couple of lines. S a d n e s s
True dat
SAME! It's so hard to tear yourself away when people do such interesting things! (the worst part is that I've seen most of lavendertowne's videos multiple times :/)
thinthle tf same I’m supposed to be finishing a fricken commission right now
Thinthle I'm the same
Here are my problems:
•I somewhat struggle with a bit of same face syndrome.
Having problems are alright, I mean, life is boring without it
I have all of those problems but here’s an extra: I can’t draw dudes because they just look like girls, I’m trying to get rid of that habit but eh
@@just_kuroo6204 they have more of an angular appearance while girls have a softer appearancr
For the male body thing I would recommend doing some figure studies, just drawing out different body shapes (there’s a website called line of motion I do believe-that’s really good for that) Then just apply some of the body types you saw and drew into more of your art ^.^
I have these same problems! I really love to draw but I try not to stop, even with art block! if you have art block, a fun thing to do is go on google images and search up drawing prompts! ive gotten better with these problems, im still way to harsh on old art
.
My three biggest problems in art is:
I can't draw backgrounds.
And I only draw in one angle.
And I don't do poses.
I have alot of trouble on those.
watch some art tutorials that really helped me with a few of these so there’s
rapid fire art, Proko and , lavendertowne these are just a few that helped me so don’t worry if they don’t work for you cuz everyone has different taste and etc so just carry on looking for stuff that can help you!
Step out of your confort zones, look up references. And yes, I know Im 2 years late
UHMGU SAME
also the uhmgu is just omg
tip: draw stickmen for reference then build up from there, really awesome trick
okay well update: i can do poses, cant do backgrounds still, and i can do different angles.
Dude i have EXACTLY this!
That last one tho. Okay I started seriously drawing at 8 and I always slouched and never stretched and I always sat in weird positions, and now I'm 16 and I have back problems which makes me feel 80 years old
fmaluver01 Same xD But i've had back problems for actually as long as I can remember.
I'm 12 and I have back problems
xD
Rip
I'm 11, and I slouch a lot, PLUS I do gymnastics without stretching, soooooo..... YEAH
They looked decent, but looking back now... dark times. Dark times.
My art style gets changed very easily, my current art style is kinda heavily inspired by lavendertowne.........
@@phoebewong7894 My style changed a lot, too. First there was just a small change where I switched from cel shading to soft shading but then I changed the way I drew hair THREE TIMES, then the way I drew eyes changed twice, then how I drew faces changed and then how I drew eyes changed again 😂
@@phoebewong7894 lol me too! I made an illustration that was heavilt inspired by her...lmai
i don't stick to a style. lol
I don't even have much of a style, it changes so much every day ;-;
You'll get it! Watch her "finding your style" video. Just make some rules for yourself and stick to them any time you draw. Don't get discouraged. Much love ♡
Your style is just the way you draw things. You'll eventually stop changing things, if you love your style.
Air Conditioner we're still developing don't worry!! :'D
Air Conditioner mine changes depending on my mood
One day your style will be more consistent. It never stops changing or evolving, but it'll become obviously yours after a little while. Never give up and never stop drawing! Looking back once you've developed your style, you'll be able to notice when it started showing up! It's a really cool feeling :3
I had the problem of disliking my art, but then I took some advise from a friend: "Take that inner perfectionist who's holding you back and PUNCH 'EM IN THE FACE"
ONE PUUUUUUUUUUUNCH it in the face!
TheMightyPancake XD Love that
Bobby Chiu, a man whose advice I cherish, said something something very similar, except replace "inner perfectionist" with a "whiny, don't-wanna-draw-anything person".
Perfectionism was already a problem for me when I was like, 10. On all of my drawings back then you can see erase marks EVERYWHERE.
I'm 10 and I've literally started screaming and crying like a dum baby when I had been drawing for like 5 hours and my drawing still looked stupid
Brianna Kennedy Samee but I think your art is cool I’m 11 so lol I recommend practicing anatomy it will help so much just practice the things you think look bad on your art and use references and sometimes you can trace anatomy pics to help you just find the shapes of it so keep up the good work
I am a perfectionist.
IT HURTS
It's a problem for me now. Often I would erase so much it went through the paper and I couldn't draw there anymore...
Same age. Same eraser problem.

DroolinQ lmao yess
Like asmr but not cringey or makes you feel wierd
i always draw inside my comfort zone, when i try to challenge myself the bodies always look weird and i find all kinds of errors, that’s why my art never improves.
I really like how your voiceovers have developed over time. Earlier in your channel, your voice was quiet and calming, but it sounded very shy or timid. Now it's still soft, but it's more confident and still just as calming. I love it!
Thank you! I've been working on it!
Does anyone else have this problem??
Starry Soup yeah I feel you, I'm still trying to find my style and everytime I look at one style I try it out. and I get really frustrated with myself because once I admire one style I immediately want to do it for myself
Yeah I have this problem!
Starry Soup a good way to sorta avoid that is to completely avoid art on social media for around maybe a few months. Then you won't be surrounded by all the the different styles that seem to call out to you and you'll be able to work on finding your own style.
same
To the first thing:
I lowkey am the opposite of this.
Hope that kinda helped :)
dang did i write that much?
My problem is putting hours into one drawing or even days, then wonder why my 30 minute to an hour practice sketch looks like shit.
Still am not, but i'm okay with that now :)
rain shadow same
rain shadow same but im not getting better :( there is always a fear in me that some people will pass me because im not good enough...
Summer Barby thank you. You are so nice~

Hatsune Miku Lol.
Not taking the frikking time to draw. When in artschool you draw 24/7 and all you do is draw and its super easy and fun and exciting and then you grow up and strart a fulltime job and all of the sudden you dont take the time to draw cuz... time. who has it?
Finally, someone to relate to. I'm lucky if I can draw something twice a month.
@@rachelwagner4434 they meant "what's the point of drawing if you can hardly draw?"
The first one. I was nitpicking my work so much that I decided to stop drawing when I was 11 then started back up when I reached 16. But I like my art now yeah there's some times where I feel it's still bad but it's not as bad as it was a long time ago
I fell down the stairs a few months ago, and now It hurts to sit down and draw for long periods of time :c
Hope you get better soon ❤️
Kitty Cat Thank you, me too :c I draw for hours and then my backside ends up hurting, and being numb at the same time :T
meower 808 make sure to do back stretching before and and after, it will help with pain and flex your muscles to help heal your injury. My husband has to do them but he has a war injury. It helps :)

@@therewasoldcringe Same ngl
I have maldaptive daydreaming and it just takes this to an extreme level
Or with me you have the idea its great! You write what will happen, then you relize you dont know where to go
and this is why i kinda regret making such an easy cast of characters in a simple world that can be simply turned into a load of AU's, *sigh* atleast im only now reaching about 20 AU's and not already in the triple digits
To me you're one of the most interesting and elusive artists. That's a lot of ideas that I will never hear...
Maybe you could pick the style that you seem to keep coming back to, to publicize and keep the other style more on the DL?
Sriracha Sketches nice! I try to do 3/4 positions but I can't find irl good poses, I'm trying to study pictures and draw from them
@LavenderTowne
Would you be open to doing a whole video on getting projects started?? This is the biggest thing thats really keeping me form advancing as a artist as I can never seem to follow through on projects I create for myself.
Just get your materials out and draw. Even if it's nothing but outlines. Once you start, it'll make you less inclined to stop.
My biggest problem right now is that I keep trying to tie myself down to a style, then start to hate that style a week later. I don't know how to fix this with anything other than time :/
Any advice?
Necco Dealer I wish I could help, but I'm having trouble finding my own art style in the first place.
Necco Dealer hah, u can found art styles even u can hate? Hah! Haha, haha... Ha... I cant even found one.
This is just a little something-
whenever you get really frustrated with your art, try getting a snack or taking a nap, go outside and get some fresh air if you can.
it's so sweet how she warns us so genuinely about hurting ourselves when we're drawing :) in what i've seen she's one of the only ppl giving art advice that addresses this, so thank you haley ♡♡
also it's crazy how much her art has improved wow >:0
I have been feeling really stuck in my art for a couple months and don't really know what to do. I really want to draw but I end up hating everything on the paper. Since this has been going on for so long I have almost no faith in being a professional artist since i feel as if i lack the skills which my friends have. And lastly since in the past I've been so interested in art that my family is cheering me on and they want to see me succeed in art but that makes me feel pressured and afraid almost to draw.
If anybody has any suggestions of what to do please help.
Edit: OMG Thank you for all the good reply's I will keep trying because of this. Once again, Thank you
//Gothic God// same ~_~
Maybeee you could try creating a character or scene inspired by an certain object's color and shape?
When you made the perfect sketch but ya messed up the inking.
Right?
The last one is extremely true for anything. I am an "artist" plus a musician and athlete and any bad habit is horrible and I can say I have some bad habits that have left my body extremely damaged.
You just made my day ...and probably night for other people ❤
pastel Saturn afternoon too ;)
Breylent Meye yesss ;3
pastel Saturn Is one nice sunny afternoon now
Yup haha its 5am for me !
Exactly! In Poland it's 22:32.
Argh that must be terrible
also anime might just be YOUR style. I mean, it's not like any anime or manga is the same all artists are different
It might not really be a phase, it could be what you should keep on doing! I know LOADS of artists that draw anime and they are absolutely AMAZING
Jovi Drawz I
Ohh ma goddd, I relate with the second one so much, but really my problem is procrastination :,)
I used to draw some strange kind of figures without knowing whats anatomy(I think that's the word) and it was AWFUL! But now I draw some nice people, my main characters in my main stories. ^-^
Do you post your stories anywhere? I'd love to read them :D
ShortMelon Comics Na, I'm sorry, I write them out of fun, but I would REALLY love to. Especially on WattPad, but I'm not allowed to upload yet bc of my parents...
Poppy TheStorywriter I know how you feel I have really good story ideas but mom can get a little to over protective when is comes to me making comic books and writing stories
dayla dayla ONE WHO UNDERSTANDS! Thank god... ^-^
Me:
-constantly has exams which require you to write 4+ hours in one sitting
-Has regular Lessons and homework which require a lot of writing
-Has bad eyes which means i hang over my papers in weird/not good poses when writing/drawing/studying
-Needs to cook for myself
-Draws in every free Minute
-Dances since a long Time already
-puzzles in every free secound
Me : Why do i have problems with my hands/ wrist/arms/back hurting all the time i aint doing anything bad

Don't give up! Prove those voices inside WRONG. You should never give up drawing because of those voices. Just wait, you will be amazing.
well then don't do detail, the first steps are simplistic, practice circles, perspective cubes "no need for shading", squares, trinagles, also ellipses are very useful in drawing, practice them too, try doing straight lines parallel to each other, make a dot from 1 place to another and try to make a line that goes straight and touches both points at least with some visual que of precision, and a small message to Chioma Egu, motivational sentences should have some advice, just take it from this wonderful man called me
Don't give up, and over time you will become a great artist! And maybe if you want some criticism, you could ask some other artists?
Wait are you anxious introvert if you're were same that voice is annoying ;-;
I get the voice but no compliments from others.
"Don't draw the same thing over and over again"
Me: Unrealistic, blocked.
Yes
I draw while laying in my bed, am I still at risk of hurting myself?
You should probably be sitting up when you draw
Dank Meme I think you should be good, as long as you are laying straight, might hurt your shoulder if you're hunched over the drawing for too long
CommunistFearow omg dude he can like what he wants
Dank Meme I'm not completely sure about that, but I belive that in any position you are drawing it can still cause damage to the hand and wrist. Not really sure if it would cause damage to the back though,it could also cause damage to the neck (depends on how you're laying down)
Thank you, so much! 😙
Too true!
Variety is good but don't stretch yourself trying to be 'complete'.
Me: **draws something and makes a mistake**
Me: oops!
Also me: **double taps the paper**
Omg me 😭
I’m not a digital artist YET, but I still do this lol
Wish I heard the back problem sooner, I'm only a 13 year-old and my back seems like glass, the slightest bend causes a lot of pain
You might just need physical therapy
okay, I'll try to ask my parents to go to the doctor.
You can put a round pillow under your back while sleeping, worked for me
I'm a young artist, and I already have a soar back. oops.
I'm 10.
Thank you for this insight lavender!! I love your videos!! Also gotta have that ~iconic~ art 😜
Disney Jodjo how do you have insight, you haven't finished it yet? lol
Hyper Nic but I just did ;0 and I gather insight everytime she says something :)
Disney Jodjo oh, ok
I really have a problem with my art styles being strikingly different from each other, but I don't worry myself too much about it, considering I _do_ have a main style. I also have a big problem with the "take a break" thing. My back suffers.
*You know you're doing a mistake if you can't draw in ms paint.*
EDIT: WOW 223 LIKES!
Rico Marco Well, mspaint can be a little hard to use sometimes since it doesn't really have 'advanced' tools or help like a stabilizer.
ImADrawingCookie Yeah
ImADrawingCookie that kind of doesn't really relate, since paint is quite simple to use.
Nobody can draw in ms paint lmao.
Feather I can draw in ms paint lmao
Your voice is really soothing. I'll listen to it while drawing, and it makes it ten times more relaxing :D
Music Boxie I am intensely perfectist. It's really annoying and it sucks.
I fucking love this person. I honestly wish I've found this channel a lot earlier.
Stingersart me too.
My art mistake is i get bored of my art which makes me leave it alone. I barley like drawing. But i want to be an artist. So i force it. Its a habit at this point;;
I sort of have a similar problem. I start drawing something, but then I can't seem to get back to it. It's usually because I'm busy, but when I'm not busy, I just feel too tired to do it
Nepeta Lejion almost the same for me. (also homestuck fan hi)
Nepeta Lejion I know same....
Soefi hello fellow homestuck
Nepeta Lejion You can always try writing down ideas over time, then you can start drawing the ideas every now and then.

Anna DanFran HAMILTRASH!
12yr old me: oh technical skill doesn't matter right now.
19yr me: where did I go wrong?
I was always imagining that I want to make a cartoon when I grow up... It was taking me forever to think about it... I don't like to draw my imagination just I wanted to think about it until I grow up. When I saw this video, I realised it that I was wrong because it's taking me forever to think about my imagination. Instead of imagining my dreams, I will draw it until I will improve. Thank you for making this video! ^^
... Making one Eye LOOK WAY WORSE THAN THE OTHER EYE AND IT'S MAKING ME WANT TO *DIE*
Denzy I hate when my stupid art does that! It sucks!
Watching you erase something and redraw it a bunch of times makes me feel a lot better because when I don’t draw something right the first time I feel like I’m awful
I just stay away from better artists and looking at their art so I don't rip apart my whole sketchbook ;w;
I wouldn't say that is a good habit because sometimes you can look at better artists for inspiration. But I will say that you should NEVER compare yourself to a better artist. If you practice enough, you will be as good as them, and maybe even better! Everybody can draw well if they just practice.
well, i'll give you some tips for better analysis that'll help you keep your sketchbook intact
first, watch an influx of tutorials of mistakes artists make, blending tutorials, brushes, highlights and shading, colors, anatomy, all o that, then go watch a good artist do some speed art, and see if you can find out what they are using from the things you learned, and that way you'll have learned how to draw something, and how to actually apply it

Sounds like me
7:35 "When you start drawing when your 11 or so." I'm like IM 11 AND I JUST STARTED DRAWING
Awesome! Keep it up, dude. Never give up. Even if you might get discouraged sometimes, don't let it really get to you. I started seriously drawing around your age. Explore all of your ideas and styles, you've got the whole universe at your fingertips. Much love
AnnMarie Awesome Tell me is your drawing your profile picture?
AnnMarie Awesome i started ever since i learned how to hold a pencil ;)
AnnMarie Awesome i started drawing when I was like 5 tho
AnnMarie Awesome I'm 14 and I've been drawing since ten. Some people start super young, but it's never too late to start!
3:06 that picture reminds me of roses room in Steven universe.
cat boss117 I thought I was the only one who thought this.
Watching these videos really makes me more motivated to draw. I’ve been frustrated with my art since I hate my art style and can’t make it change. But you really make me feel better about it. I have nothing else to say but thank you.
Hey I just wanted to say you're such a HUGE inspiration to me! I love to draw and watching your videos gives me so much help and ideas. :D
I want to see an animation or comic with the whales :000

C O M E I N M Y L A D Y D O O R ;]
My biggest problem is imagining alot of amazing, creative or clean ideas but it just gets worse when I finally try drawing it. Then after that I'll just lose all my motivation and doesn't draw for days which really sucks
*When you rely so much on reference that it's almost impossible to draw without it*
"Just drawing things that are kinda related and never actually getting to it"
_I feel so attacked_
I love the HP bar you added. It's so cute, and it gives it a more nerdy feel. I really love your style, and Unfamiliar is coming along very nicely. I enjoy your channel and your art, and I'm 11 and have a habit of leaning over my sketchbook when I draw, but because of what you said, I'll try to sit up straighter. Thank you so much. I love you!

Omg thank you for uploading this I've had an artist's block for like 2 weeks and now I know why-- I stayed in my comfort zone. Drawing different wolves in the same position. Now maybe I can jot some ideas down.
I never ... never... ever have
Have inspiration
Really? Not even from your favorite books, TV shows, or movies? Other artists can inspire you as well. Also, things you just see in general that you really like, such as a sunset, or a guy with a stupid shirt. TL;DR: Just get inspiration from things that interest you. You'll be inspired one day.
Laffy Taffy i wish T~T but when i do have it just «poofs» and here where i live in my room and school
Well, all I can suggest is that whenever you do have those split seconds for inspiration, try to remember whatever gave it to you as much as you can. Write it down, or take a pic of it if you can. Just keep trying. Something will inspire you to draw someday.
Laffy Taffy Thanks im sure that will help me🤗
No problem! :)
I can relate to these all on a spiritual level
I'm so glad you included artist's injuries. I spent all day, every day, morning till night, drawing. I ended up not being able to draw for over a year due to pain. Wearing splints and spending tons of money on doctors is definitely not worth it
Hey thx for telling us! This was really helpful for me! And I hope everyone has had a good day!
