I’m blessed to say my family is proud of me wanting to be a professional artist. They got me to meet up with their friends who own a art store full of the art they made I feel so inspired by this. THANK YOUUU
I really dig the paper options you're using lately! It gives your art a more 'real' feeling instead of looking at the perfect default settings on digital :)
I’m too scared to be an artist. Too many things could go wrong. Edit: What I meant by this comment was that there’s almost no stability. You could easily just loose all your following and fail completely. Sure you could try again but that would take a while and you would need to take up another job. In the end it seems to be better to go for something different.
There's not a backwards hand I don't think. The thing you think is the thumb, is the pinky, but it's overlapping the other finger, so that's why it looks like that I think
I want to be a FreeLancer & Storyteller but i also want to become a Veterinarian so bad. My dream job has always been a Veterinarian because i love animals so much but i also have a passion for Art :/ Im still young so i guess i have a while to make a decision.
Maybe try studying to become a vet and improving your art on the sidelines. Eventually you might be able to fully focus on art, but it's good to have a plan B
Hmm, maybe you could do both? You don't have to go to an artschool to be a Freelance or Storyteller, and though your schedule might be very packed it could probably be done. Try to practice art as much as you can while striving to be a veterinarian. Being a vet will also be helpful if your art doesn't take off right away. You don't have to give up either of your dreams if you don't mind a work heavy schedule.
I had to take the same decission XD i love animals too, i worked on a vet for one week and i loved that experience BUT that wasn't the life i wanted, so now i'm on an art school having the best time of my entire life
This can be really hard to get past, I know--i would suggest really lightly sketching until you've figured out exactly what you want, then darken the lines you like. Then for lining, either line on a new layer so you can erase or undo without hurting your sketch. For traditional art, do the lines on tracing paper for the same reason--then your sketch is still fine and you can start over on the lines whenever. But keep your sketches and messed up lines! This way you can see your improvement over time and after a year or two you can see how much you've grown
Thank you for this video! I worry a lot about my future as an artist and it really helps to see some of the various options that are available. Your videos always keep me positive! :) ❤️

One thing I have learned from art is that it is similar to Running, you might never be the fastest but you can train everyday, and improve yourself and once you do become the fastest , keep pushing yourself because your art will never truly be perfect and you will always find flaws, but you will learn to harness and control it 😄
Thank you for making this video! I honestly wanted to know what would be the best type of art job and you just swoop in with your magic art and answer my prayers! Thank you!!

Question: I want to go to an art high school and I need to have a portfolio by December but I don’t know what type of media to put in it (e.g watercolor paintings, portraits, still life sketches). I also don’t know if I should put a lot of color or keep my portfolio sort of monochromatic. Any suggestions?
I’m Ugly try adding a little bit of each. Any kind of art school want to see what you can do so adding both colorful and mono pieces that incorporate stills, portraits, landscapes, etc. can help you out.
* meredis * I know she did and I watched it but it referred to more advanced art schools like college level this high school a) is in ny and b) is a high school
I'd recommend putting in as much as you can. Even if you think something is crap, put it in. If you're applying for an animation course, put in a lot of figure study drawings and blind-eye drawings. Bulk it up. Dish out as much art as you can and put it all into the folder. When I applied for an animation course, I only put in pieces of art that I thought would impress people. I spent hours and hours wasting time on drawing and painting highly-detailed things and I ended up with a less than half-full folder. Seriously, put everything you can into it. Put in entire sketchbooks, old drawings you'd find down the side of your couch. Anything you can find. Just to show how diverse your art can be, how often you actually practice art, and how much you've progressed.
I’m Ugly Make sure to put still lives and photo studies, at least 3 different media like digital, pencil or acrylic etc(or what u want) The most important thing to do is put a lot of things you love in it, art is about expression and schools want to see that. Keep in mind things like works in progress can be added to show how you got to a finished piece and but 4 to 5 pictures of each media at the very least. And remember play to your strengths, also love to see it when your done I’m also applying to art school and want to meet other aspiring artists
HaMiLtON Not just blacks, anyone who has darker skin. It’s probably because her style is simple. A lot of cartoons show darker skinned characters but don’t put in the light palms because it could complicate the image.

I’m blessed to say my family is proud of me wanting to be a professional artist. They got me to meet up with their friends who own a art store full of the art they made I feel so inspired by this. THANK YOUUU
The 5 types of un professional artists ?
Me the one who buys new supplies to get inspired and out of art block and fails at it
Or hobbyists instead of "un professional"
Type 5: An artist that wants to be an artist but draws only as a hobby because doesn't belive in themselves and sticks to 9-5 job
Type 6: the one who try’s to sell their art and do commissions but no one wants it
Type 7: Me, the lazy delusional artist who thinks he's good.
I love how weird artists are. 😊

London TF but it’s the same for everything
There are always pros and cons
London TF I used to be that way. Then I watched Haley’s videos. Don’t worry, you’ll be alright!
but you could learn from the things that could go wrong.
But so many things can go right!
yay ive been wanting to see another video of yours
Wait LavenderTowne, the hand is backwards on freelance guy.
There's not a backwards hand I don't think. The thing you think is the thumb, is the pinky, but it's overlapping the other finger, so that's why it looks like that I think
Deformed people need representation
@@ele_v.irtuosity5385 She accidentally drew the thumb as the pinky. Very common mistake that every artist makes.
I seriously hate when I do that.
True, and i’m not saying who that’s directed at.
I had to take the same decission XD i love animals too, i worked on a vet for one week and i loved that experience BUT that wasn't the life i wanted, so now i'm on an art school having the best time of my entire life
If u want to be a vet then go for it u can use art as a hobby and be a vet as a job
Maybe you could make a side job out of your passion for art, maybe RUclips or Something...
I actually was really amazed you brought up omocat. I loved the transition from stubby and derpy pokemon to amazingly beautiful grapic pop art tees.
If I mess up one line of a drawing, I will give up instantly.
Michael A. A. M. I MUST SCREENSHOT YOUR COMMENT, ADD IT TO MY PHOTOS, AND FAVORITE THE PHOTO
Same since you can’t erase
Story tellers include Graphic novelist right?
Just a bit curious cause I'm striving to be a graphic novelist

One thing I have learned from art is that it is similar to Running, you might never be the fastest but you can train everyday, and improve yourself and once you do become the fastest , keep pushing yourself because your art will never truly be perfect and you will always find flaws, but you will learn to harness and control it 😄

I’m Ugly Make sure to put still lives and photo studies, at least 3 different media like digital, pencil or acrylic etc(or what u want)
The most important thing to do is put a lot of things you love in it, art is about expression and schools want to see that.
Keep in mind things like works in progress can be added to show how you got to a finished piece and but 4 to 5 pictures of each media at the very least.
And remember play to your strengths, also love to see it when your done I’m also applying to art school and want to meet other aspiring artists
This is very vague but apparently they like a lot of variety in portfolios
she made the palms of that black girl black when in reality it is lighter due to the lack of melanin.
HaMiLtON She does that to everyone of all races.
only black people have lighter palms... of course she does that to everyone else.
HaMiLtON Not just blacks, anyone who has darker skin. It’s probably because her style is simple. A lot of cartoons show darker skinned characters but don’t put in the light palms because it could complicate the image.
