as a 17 y/o digital artist, i related to a lot of these as i continue to figure out my art style. for months, even years on end, my art style would always be labeled as "anime" or "cartoonish," and to tell you the truth, i just wasn't satisfied with it. although, that was a while ago. since then i've developed a style that looks much more realistic. before that i never really paid much attention to detail, but now i do, and i'm very happy with the results :)
not everyone is going to have a similar art style to you, not everyone is going to like your art style, and that's okay. if you are worried about what other people will think, don't do it for those people, do it because it's what *you* like to do.
i think the best advice i've heard and that i can give to artists my age and artists who are younger is to experiment and try new things, because you learn from it. don't let the fear of messing up hold you back, we're only human. but also remember, you still made art, and you still have the ability to create something. beginner artist, amateur artist, it doesn't matter. you are still an artist, and that is a valuable skill to have 🩷

As a 12 year old artist, I can confirm that markers are usually really expensive, or really cheap,
and the airbrush tactic was discovered when I was 10 yrs old ;_; 😂

Yeah anthro characters are cool but the nsfw artists give us a bad reputation
My art style is fairly cartoony, but I render it with so many shading and lighting layers. The actual subject matter of what I draw is most often villains and monsters.
i draw animals and my art style has huge eyes and i don't really shade because idk how it works

I like to draw cartoon and furry art, usually a mix of it, but mostly digitally. I may get back to traditional someday, using very more sophisticated markers than just Crayola coloring pencils as well as ink pens. I’d also like to try an anime art style someday. My art skills are not the best currently, but I’m gonna try to continue practicing so I can get better.
art means the various branches of creative activity, such as painting, music, literature, and dance so there should be a part two of the different type of arts like dance and music

By the way everyone, if you think your art is ‘bad’, don’t worry, I bet it isn’t. And it will slowly improve to be better and better, so don’t worry!
That being said, it's absolutely okay to sh!t on someone's art when it's so bad it looks like what you did a year ago or so!

I like drawing everything, different styles, my favorite is realism, but these past years I've been doing more black&white/horror art, when I'm not ok I try to transfer to the paper how I'm feeling, it's a way to take the agony and the sadness off me a bit.

I once made an oc. I named it lost soul; it had veins sticking out, blood, scars, and yeah.. When I was done drawing it and looked at it, my soul left my body
Random side note: this video reminded me of the time I went to the art store and they had a sticker on the cash register. The sticker had that cat from Alice in Wonderland on it and said "We're all mad here"
Point is, no matter the art style, all artists are just a teeny tiny bit insane. And I LOVE that :')

Honestly... can't say for sure if I fit into one of these.... but they're pretty accurate non the less. Salute to all my fellow artists!
I once drew in class, a tentacle/tendril multi-eyed monster with sharp teeth. And one person sitting next to me said "I don't know whether to be scared or amazed at your art."
I once drew a cat in class and some cringey little nuicance next to said "EwEw WhAt ThE hElL CrInGe FuRry!"

Honestly, horror art is my favorite. Like if you make something ugly and disgustingly horrifying, that's a good thing! That's one of the reasons why I love it.

Omigosh the same kinda thing happened to me, I had just finished a very detailed horror style piece, and the teacher just walked by, stared at it and went "I like your drawing..." and then just walked away and I was like 'heh. I'm never drawing vent art public again"
in art class we had to do a “scribble and turn it into a creature” thing and i didnt have any ideas so i just made it a giant black creature with 2 giant white eyes
As a 18 year shoujo artist with a unique artstyle I see this as an absolute win

My current Art-Style is a mix of Simple and Anime anatomy, I like when the animals look proportional, but I simplify the humans.
But my favorite one is The Sims 2, these sims have anime-esque eyes and have a detailed balanced mix of cartoony and realism.
I haven’t put my art anywhere online (yet) but I bet I’ll fit into the weird or unique art category when I do.

Pancake Shading means adding highlights and shadows on one side, it makes it look flat (except i dont use highlights or shadows so i'm even more flatter :P)
I love the “Inspired by another artist” cause as a kid that is exactly what I did until I wanted my own style but still have a hint of what I was being inspired by
I honestly have two art styles right now.
My current main art style is more simple and cartoon-like (I watched a lot of cartoons as a kid in the 2000s and used to want to make my own for TV someday,) and my other art style is aiming for a more stylised version of semirealistic, but I'm still working on it, and it's mainly just for digital paintings.
my art used to have an obnoxiously anime style that i got made fun of for so i've started straying to more semi realism with a more manhwa look to it, more detailed eyes, lips, diversity with face shapes and noses, etc. I use more muted colors, but a light color scheme. My art also tends to make no sense when I'm not just drawing people, like I'll put random words or poses or objects in the frame and I can't even explain why it makes me happy or what it even is. that's surrealism right? maybe?

Don’t stop something when someone makes fun of it, ignore them, they’re people that enjoy bringing people down, don’t listen to them, follow whatever art style you like

I personally like line art, it doesn't require color (but thats up to you) and it is a fun thing to do when you're bored

Actually extremely accurate and you are probs spying on us. But in reality, us watercolor painters just like how the colors blend and how they dry out when ur done w/ the painting. We also find it satisfying to apply the paint

For my art style its complicated. My style is like a mix of multiple things with my own creative spin on them. I take inspiration from comic book and shonen manga type styles. Usually action based high energy art styles.

I typically draw in a style that is kind of a mix of anime and cartoon but more on the anime side because I’ve been drawing like that since I was 8.

I draw alittle cartoony and mostly sketchy. I also am trying to draw more horror into my drawing too. I took a bit of someone else's art style and put it together with other traits I like of some other art style. It helps you find your own art style or create one

As an artist who touches into anime, semi-realism and painting, I can confirm it’s pretty accurate minus thinking your more talented than others. That sorta thinking is usually impossible for artists due to an old friend called imposter syndrome.
I also do more cartoony and simple art from time to time, but that depends. I mean, my profile pic is a perfect example of the simpler stuff I do.

My artstyle is weird and cartoons at the same time. You're so accurate it scares me.
I remember I once drew an oc who's a humanoid bunny (I'm not a furry I swear-), and an art teacher came and said "I like that. That's a cute cat."
I still laugh at that to this day

I draw dragons from WoF and I sometimes go insane without any ships written down in a corner
i feel validated by that last one as someone who used to use a laptop dragpad and paint 3d for art
my art style is very loosely based off of a few things/people, mainly someone named pinkrose, and over time it slowly morphed into cartoon network-esque characters with long legs.
The horror one is absolutely true. As a horror artist, I simply just draws what comes first in my head while sitting and imagining with a black pen in my hand and white paint for details, and after I finished, everyone who sees my art and I tell them it's my imagination, everyone (including myself) just thinks something is wrong with me, and i need a Psychiatrist or something.

I still use Windows XP paint to this day except Its far more detailed than depicted. I use it for the line art and use photoshop to color it.
I use Paint 3D as my own platform of making fanarts mostly. I cant tell which art style I'm like yet I relate to some art styles here lmao
I like to draw black and white when doing traditional, and it's for a few reasons; coloring stuff is expensive and doesn't last long, it's fun to shade in things, figure out patterns, and incorporate contrast

My art style was mostly was cartoonish with a hint of realism. Sometimes I do surreal art. Mostly I like to draw nostalgic themes throughout creatures.
