One great thing about being old is that I spent my entire life from the age of 22 listening to JJ Cale. I turned 69 yesterday, and this album made my Birthday even better.
Hello! You Celebrated Your 69. Birthday InJuly ? I Celebrated 66 Years In August :-) Late Greating, BUT; Happy New Year !!! Kind Regards From Nini Helene pst.; "I Was At A TRIBUTE To JJ Cale In Oslo This Year !"
Since I was a schoolboy with the Albums Naturally, Really, Okie & Troubadour, drafted to army (#5, Shades), studying - while Grasshopper & #8 was playing, starting a job with Travel Log, marriage (Number 10, Closer To You), becoming Manager with the Guitar Man and To Tulsa and Back, becoming Father and divorced on The Road to Escondido, retired with Rewind and Roll on - J.J. Cale was with me all the time. He's a great part of my life.
Ronald Bücker, Bravo ! Good experience from the real life full circle, with a lil' help from J.J. If I were you, I'd have stopped in the army with record : "shades". Nothing new at the horizon. I love J.J. Cale.
Ronald, nearly same happened with me invery difficult steps of my life ... The so called "laid back style" JJ was playing, is so wonderful ! For me has been "You keep me hanging on" one of my favorites. Around 2010 there on RUclips has been a wonderful privat made video to this song! I'm so sad when I saw, the video has been deleted.
For me too. He is a real part of my life. He is always the best. I always remember how I discovered that man .There was a tape in the trash can in the building. I picked up and played. And the story begun. That was J J CALE.
My dad was raised in Tulsa Oklahoma back in JJ's time. He told me stories are going to the honky-tonks listen to him drinking beer. I was raised listening to his music it's timeless. I'm 60 years old now. I miss the passing of both men very much. Fond memories of my dad listening to this music. Thank you for sharing the new JJ album much appreciated 👍
JJ Cale was a true original, perhaps the most talented and creative musician that most people never knew about except through the recordings of more well-known musicians like Eric Clapton, Jerry Garcia, John Mayer, Jeff Beck , Mark Knopfler and Neil Young. His music is timeless and never ceases to astound me.
I've seen them all during this 72 year ride...always remembering Clapton and Knopfler at Royal Albert Hall, Jerry Garcia in Ann Arbor...and the list goes on...😎😎😎
I've been a big, BIG JJ Cale fan since the 70s. I am proud to say that in the last 20 years, I have introduced Mr. Cale to many people as old as I am...Made fans out of 'em all! At least one great accomplishment before I shrug off this Earthly veil!
Now I know why Waylon Jennings sang "JJ Cale is a hero, the best I've ever heard. Ya gotta sing a little louder Hoss, I can't hear the words. Some folks call him rock and roll, some folks call it blues. But I detect a country soul and I've seen his cowboy shoes".
Before they all passed on; I heard that JJ Cale, Roy Orbison, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard and Tony Joe White and maybe even more I didn't hear about, were wanting to do an album together. I wish it would've happened.
A true musician for passion, not for fame and money. Which he got additionally and much deserved it, I hardly know any music more soothing and heartwarming.
I'm glad the arrangements were left so open, like J.J. Cale should be. So many posthumous albums get these lush arrangements, and it just never really captures the artist's style quite right. This is a J.J. Cale album.
At 72 I've been listening to JJ since the 60s. Like a lot of the rest of you,he's been a part of my life. He's my go to music. He left us way to soon. But he still lives....
The music of JJ. Cale takes me back to a special person with whom we listened it day and night. In a few days I will meet that special person again after 35 years of absence. I think we will still listen to JJ.
Not a day passes that I don't have JJ at my side...reminding me at 72 what's important...when feeling low...😎Road to Escondido brings me home!!! Wish I could have played my harp with JJ!!!😎😎actually I do play my harp with him everyday...C ECHO...and heartfelt thanks to Christine for pulling this together!
I heard JJ back when Crazy Mama was a hit on the radio back in the 70's, but didn't know it was him....or didn't remember. And learned more about JJ due to the Clapton/JJ Road to Escondido. Quickly bought almost all his albums. I had no idea he wrote much of the music I listened to. Call me the breeze by Leonard Skynyrd, Clapton's covers, Neil Young and others. Then he passed a couple years later. Clapton and Friends - Call Me the Breeze album is well worn here. So grateful for his music. I can relate to all of your comments. Looking at 60 next month.... I'll spend part of it listening to JJ.
Absolutely...a underrated musician, composer guitartist and in my view deserves to be up there....and a genius who comes once in a 100 years ..yet Justin Bieber concerts are full..kids don't know real men and music..these days ..glad I discovered all 60 to 70 years old s here I am 65...and an Indian who loved this genre of music from.my college days

I stumbled upon this album and played it over and over and over what a sad loss . The music words sounds just take you away . Am going to play it again now . Thank you JJ
Speaking like a non bias style man from Oklahoma it is unbelievable how our Great State inspired Mr. Cale plus Hundreds more throughout the years. He was a Legend in his own skin without a damn thingvever given to him. He earned every pennyvhe ever made! Not many like him anymore, unfortunately.
I can't stop listening to this album, the whole thing. The whole album needs to be on a loop. Loved JJ back in the 70s, kept coming back to him, but this is the best, THE BEST!
Tonight is the first time I have been able to listen to JJ Cale since my Dad passed away last year. Just found this amazing album, and wish I could share it with him. Something in the way the breeze picked up tells me he is listening with me ❤ thank you Christine

i'm so sorry I discover JJ so late in my life, .. i listening to Knopfler, and in comments one wrote "this is as JJ", and then I search for JJ and found out this great music maaaan
I think he done most of mixing, played several instruments his self. He started out as a board man and progressed from there. When Eric Clapton, among others, praise the music and makes John a millionaire you have to know how great he was Listening for 30 years. And John Prine to the mix as well.
I remember, in college in the 70’s, some of us discovering the album “Naturally”. Everyone of us had different tastes in music, but all agreed that this album, and artist, was just wonderful. And that is still the case today.
Discovered JJ Cale only recently, via a session with Leon Russell at Paradise Studio, as I am listening to him a lot and reliving my youth through the music. I've already purchased a few Cale albums and this one is next.
il etait ager quand meme ce qui n enleve rien a son talent un grand bluesman et un talent d ecriture certain je le classe dans les plus grands avec clapton tony joe white et springsteen
Always was aware of JJ but never followed his music or saw what he look like. But recently looking at a Leon Russell video with JJ I got to see what a great guitarist he was and what a fantastic wife he had. A little late but now I'm a fan.
Being married to my Maria for nearly 53 years...I introduced this album to her in bed...she lets me play my harp as it puts me to sleep eventually...LOL...
One of the great things about j.j. is that he sings the verse and doesn't hardly ever repeat it and then the song is over, on to the next one.... Much respect for the widespreadpanic, they're a jam band and they were molded from j.j. and all good 🤔⚖️ I just sometimes wish they would stop and start their new song without another 20 minutes of jamming.... And they are awesome this is only a compliment to j.j. Cale
JJ was keeping busy while some of us weren't watching! Heard 3 albums I hadn't heard in the last 3 days. Oddest thing is that my least favorite album in the entire catalog is Road To Escondido. I think they were working by Fed-Ex and it suffered for it. But this man kept on the move and kept us entertained.
Jj cale is a fine artist but whoever put the lyrics up is one dumb M.F.am I the only that notestet it it's so far the song's actual words I have to close my eyes or I can't stand it are you really proud of the job you've done I won't be adding to any list I have dumb sob
What a poet...what a fine listen. I just keep going back to this, day after day. It keeps me from going over the edge right now. He's got a lot more music out there...can't wait to hear it all.
I never get tired listen on and on and on to the the great J.J. Cale, may his soul rest in peace⚘

Yep, I grew up with his music grooving round the house. Absolutely superb. By his first album Troubador for any friends of yours!
Loved JJ since I was 17 in 77 thanks for release Christine
So much great music to leave the world with. Thank you, JJ.
The mixing on this album is amazing.
I think he done most of mixing, played several instruments his self. He started out as a board man and progressed from there. When Eric Clapton, among others, praise the music and makes John a millionaire you have to know how great he was
Listening for 30 years. And John Prine to the mix as well.
Yup he had a degree in music engineering. And he tore his guitars apart and made them sound like he wanted them to.
What a magical album. RIP John Cale
I love J J Cale and all his music he's a legend ❤❤❤ RIP
I remember, in college in the 70’s, some of us discovering the album “Naturally”. Everyone of us had different tastes in music, but all agreed that this album, and artist, was just wonderful.
And that is still the case today.
Come sempre una conferma JJ Cale " Leggenda ". Un vero piacere ascoltarti e lasciarsi prendere dai tuoi suoni.♥
JJ was one of the Best! 👍
Discovered JJ Cale only recently, via a session with Leon Russell at Paradise Studio, as I am listening to him a lot and reliving my youth through the music. I've already purchased a few Cale albums and this one is next.
I love his western sound.! What an enjoyable afternoon thanks to J.J.Cale, it’s been heavenly.♥️🧚🏻♂️✌️
JJ Cale.....laid back and ultimate cool.
PERFECT ALBUM
Always was aware of JJ but never followed his music or saw what he look like. But recently looking at a Leon Russell video with JJ I got to see what a great guitarist he was and what a fantastic wife he had. A little late but now I'm a fan.
That last track ...... just wow !
Being married to my Maria for nearly 53 years...I introduced this album to her in bed...she lets me play my harp as it puts me to sleep eventually...LOL...
WOW found a new great album from JJ. Lots of gems on this baby.
Awesome Album. I'll see you in heaven Mr. JJ. Cale...😇👍
Thanks Christine. They are re-modeling the Church Studio. Hope you can come back. Karl Sapulpa, OK
When I introduce JJ Cale to people I tell them the music is, Smokey Blues. Just lay back and tap your toes.
saw J.J, live at the emporium in Van.. sweet experience
I knew today was going to be a good day !
thank you for best 48 minutes ever
Thank you thank you thank you Christine
Oh my my what music! Rip jj
every now and then you hear a tune that you click with..........chasing you is mine
What a poet...what a fine listen. I just keep going back to this, day after day. It keeps me from going over the edge right now. He's got a lot more music out there...can't wait to hear it all.
