We should, it can beneficial in many ways. But we need more GOOD police, there are few who abuse their power, and those are the ones that need to be stopped, not the entire police force.

I’ve been speaking sign language my entire life most of my relatives are deaf my godparents were deaf my kid sister is now 90% deaf my nephews and niece have abit of speech delays I’m losing my hearing my mom and aunts are hard of hearing when I became a mom I tried teaching my kids while they were in diapers because my boys would ask me “mommy what’s great Grammy saying” out of all 3 of my kids my youngest daughter was the only one to take interest. A regular citizen in most jurisdictions cannot use deadly force to defend themselves even if someone breaks into their home in the middle of the night. However, this cop’s case never even went before a grand jury. Since when is a cop authorized to shoot someone who fails to pull over quick enough and begins to use sign language? Even cases where a highway patrolman chases a stolen car who has smashed into several motorists and gets out and begins to flee is tacked by the cop and subdued. If this “chase” lasted for so long and this cop was so fearful, why didn’t he radio for backup? Let a jury hear the case, if the cop is innocent, the system should at least find him not guilty...

But I'm not sure it's safe for someone hearing impaired/deaf to be driving if they can't even hear emergency sirens , what if a horn blows for a safety reason they can't hear it.
