- The state of Florida is investigating a police shooting in North Miami. An officer shot and wounded an unarmed black man who was lying on his back with his hands in the air. The victim was a mental health worker trying to return an autistic patient to a group home. Jericka Duncan reports.

@@andyramirez5367 I'm sorry, but they heard someone yelling "SHUT UP!" from the middle of the street and "load" something, which in this case was a truck. The responders couldn't tell what he was holding so they fired, because they thought he had a gun. I'm not saying it makes it right, but there is also no evidence the police officer said "I don't know", making it a problem on both sides. We only see a small portion of what probably happend, so don't jump to conclusions.
That’s horrendous. Cop should be charged with assault and should be fired. There isn’t an excuse for that especially after saying “I don’t know” after he asked why he got shot.
The cop should be put in prison.

The cop himself says he doesn’t kno why he shot, but his boss is already twisting the scanario to make the cop look like he was saving the guys life. By the time it gets to a trial or a settlement, it will have changed again with the cop claiming, “ I feared for my life”.

This is the United States, you never know what someone might want to do to the Police Officer. But cops do get arrested all of the time, it's just not always recorded and published publicly.

It's funny how incidents like this still needs thorough investigation despite all the glaring evidence.
The officer was convicted of a misdemeanour - basically a rap on the knuckles with no criminal record - and lost his job. The victim settled his Federal lawsuit for an undisclosed amount.

Police departments are becoming like Wal-Mart. They will hire anyone with a pulse. A cop in Ft. Worth is in prison for manslaughter after shooting a woman who had done nothing wrong. He was hired after having a psyche evaluation that strongly indicated that he should NOT be a cop. I watched the court testimony of the Dr. who evaluated him. He said the cop was such a narcissist that he wouldn't be able to make good judgment calls. But they hired him anyway and he killed an innocent woman.
I’m in Dallas. I heard about that one.. there’s a lot of cops that should be behind bars. Unfortunately, we have to deal with all the ones that aren’t.

cops ALWAYS ESCALATE EVERY INCIDENT. instead of calmly defusing the situation, which is necessary for anyone to make a proper assessment and take appropriate action, they charge in usually SCREAMING, hoping to provoke a response so they can arrest or better yet beat, shoot, and arrest. NEVER call the cops. If you are unavoidably confronted by them, just freeze, shut up, put your hands up, do what they say, and hope for the best. you may get shot anyway like this poor guy

Threatening people, aiming a gun at cops, firing at them or other people, etc. to try to get cops to shoot them dead. Mass shootings can be suicide by cop (or anyone else with a weapon).
They don't even have to actually carry out their threats, they just have to make people believe they will imminently.
Suicide by cop is a real, albiet relatively rare, thing, look it up for yourself.
Edit: as in people who can't bring themselves to pull the trigger on themselves, so they try to get someone else to shoot them, by presenting themselves as a serious threat.
