- I hope you like the intro animation in modern graphics. I originally wanted to make a simple tutorial video, but that wasn't enough for me. So i redid the animations from 1999 in 2023 style. I also included a parts list at the bottom of the video, so you can build your own Veronica Voltage car.
A big thank you to the RUclipsr @ZANTHERA for his build video's. He has a series of how to build all the Lego Racers intro cinematic cars. I want to focus my series on how to build the in-game models, but a lot of inspiration comes from his video's. So check them out!

A fact that may be fun: The cars you unlock and the cars you race against are actually different! To use this car as an example, the one you race against on the time trials has grey slope bricks instead of white, and the blue slopes are actually cyan. Sometimes the car in the build menu is different from when you race with it, too. Again with this car, it has grey rims in build mode, but white ingame!
Ohh you're right! Good eye!😋
Yeah it always frustrated me as a kid how the CPU, even the blue NPC racers, had cars with features that were impossible to recreate. Either their bricks were slightly different from what we had to work with, or they were put in impossible places. Like Ann droid, Islander and Willa the Witch all used a very basic and similar looking car but it is impossible to recreate it. And the boss cars look different from the CPU controlled cars, too, like you said (even the boss characters themselves look a bit different when you control them iirc). I guess this was done to avoid confusion whilst racing, but it still came off like I was using a cheap bootleg version of the car set as opposed to the original.
@@MannyBoy96 I haven’t looked at the other NPCs cars. But I can imagine they cheated here and there to make sure the cars have the same look overall while playing.
The weirdest thing I always found was the back of Captain Redbeards head when playing as him. It has this weird split in colors. That isn’t visible on the NPC. Strange that that happens. Especially because when racing you are probably looking more at the back of his head than the front. 😜
@@StudframeAnimations Yes exactly, I had the redbeard thing in mind when writing my previous comment. I think there's subtle things like that on the other bosses too, like the CPU Basil is shinier and looks cooler whilst a player-controlled Basil looks rather flat in comparison. But the redbeard one is definitely the most noticable.
@@MannyBoy96 Even with the flaws we love the game for what it is. Maybe some day there will be a creator/team who can remaster the game and fix the little flaws. We can only hope.
I have been wondering if I were to make an animation about the game but with modern graphics, maybe that would spark a move from the Lego group to start a remaster project. The 25th anniversary is this year, so who knows. I doubt it, but we can dream. 😜
This looks incredible, exactly how I'd imagine a Lego Racers remake to look. Excellent work!
Thank you so much for the kind comment! 😁
Love the shoutout to the Manic Miners Team, wanna play it soon!
Of course! I will be supporting Manic Miners in my next video aswell. Love that project. 😁
I’ve been saving your Lego racers character cart videos so I can do my best to re-create them in Lego 2K drive. So thank you for these. You do such an exceptional job with the animations 🙏🏽😊
Thanks you so much! Glad to hear you're able to make use of these videos. 😄
Unpopular opinion: Veronica’s car is better than Rocket’s
Very unpopular opinion, but I'm glad to hear Veronica's car is appreciated. 😄
The starting baseplate for her car looks like it should be huge but her final build ends up being so compact and tiny
Right? It's because the front takes up a lot of space. But that's also what it gives it the beatle-like appearence.
Thanks for watching!
i had rocket racers car like 7+ years ago i deff say its longer tho i wana say since 2007 time flys btw however this is 1 car never built i did a custom paint job on those legos you are being talked to by the 1 of the orginal first creators
For the headlights part 71183 is more fitting I think
That could work very well too. 😁
Huh, interesting that they used that wing(?) piece for the chassis, it makes sense but I wouldn't have thought to base a car on it! Great animation, as always
Thank you! It gives it the beetle-like appearance. The other opponents (the non-champions) also seem to use the piece as a base. Works well! 😁
Can you do Basic? like Bricks, Medieval, Space, and Racer? with quick builds?
What do you mean exactly? Like general builds? Or from other Lego games?
@@StudframeAnimations General builds
@@isaacmorales8732 It would be fun to do animations with general builds. But I would like to grow the channel by focusing on older Lego games for now. So maybe in the future! 😁
@@StudframeAnimations I think they mean that within Lego racers, you have the base sets to build with before you beat any circuits. Each set has bricks and a chassis: Brick, Race, Space and Castle.
There aren't any animations for these cars, but they do have these prebuilt characters: Joanne of Kart, Robo-...tino? I can't honestly recall their names.
So I reckon they're asking if your also going to make animations on how to build their karts.
I'll add that I'm excited to see what animations you'll do next! It's fun stuff.
@@deckie_ Ohhh I get it now! I don't think I will make an animation about those. I rarely played as those characters ingame, so I don't feel as much nostalgia about them. But who knows, maybe I get an idea down the road.
Thank you for you comment. I've got some fun stuff in the works. Can't tell you what it is yet, but i give a hint: 🛹
She's kind of an overlooked character, nice job bringing more attention to her. ❤
Definitely. To be honest I discoverd quite late that she was a playable character. My 8 year old self was amazed there was even a cutscene after completing all her challenges.
Thank you for watching!❤
nlg, when I was a kid I always felt that her challenges are by far the most difficult ones
@@delfinenteddyson9865 Some of them were quite tricky! I remeber the snow race to be the most difficult one.
She was confirmed to be a relative of Professor Voltage from LEGOLAND, whom was featured in proto images of LEGO Racers 2, but the final game just stuck with Sparky as your primary mentor. I guess they might've wanted an original character to help it stand out.
@@Cyberbrickmaster1986 Ohh cool detail! I never knew that! Thanks for sharing. 😁
