Cruising Through LEGOLAND in VR – 180VR Boat Ride!
We're back in LEGOLAND! I always enjoy making these kind of videos so it's nice to create the next episode.
This time I'm doing an experiment with the 180 VR mode. I've made 360 VR videos in LEGO before. But it's quite difficult to watch it on a tablet/mobile phone. Looking behind you requires quite a bit of movement, which isn't always possible when watching on a chair or couch. So I hope this is a more pleasant watching experience. I love to push the boundaries to bring these classic LEGO games back in an interesting way.

@@StudframeAnimations Anybody who comes on a dragon to the tavern must leave their dragons outside. This was one of the ideas I had for a Fright Knights animation: Something involving Basil and his black dragon Draco. The big main one I had idea of was Basil on Draco and they end up snatching an unfortunate Dragon Master who's lost and strayed a bit too far from home. The Dragon Master knight is all "put me down!" and Basil does intend to......but it won't be a soft landing if you know what I mean. Since I like to think the Dragon Masters and Fright Knights are enemies (or at least rivals) because its now confirmed Majisto and Willa are cousins and I like to think they don't get along. Also way before they were confirmed to be cousins I had this head canon Basil actually used to be a Dragon Master knight before Willa got her hands on him as it would explain how he already knows how to ride a dragon. So with this confirmation Willa and Majisto are cousins this just goes perfectly with my head canon and Willa saw an opportunity to spite her cousin by turning one of his own knights onto her side. And Basil is feeling a little salty against his old faction because he believes they abandoned him (or he got kicked out by them)
Is this a texture pack or mod? or just you retextured the video of the race? This takes me back!
@@jansonshrock2859 I took the assets from the game and animated the races with improved visuals. So it’s not an actual game, just a video. 😁

@@StudframeAnimations I saw him in a couple other spots in the park. I saw him as a picture on one of the big body dryers for drying off from the rides that soak you (think it was in the Pirates area). BTW there actually used to be an attraction at Legoland Windsor called Rocket Racers it was literally the closest thing you got to as an arcade experience of Lego Racers. The queue line had portraits of the bosses and outside the near the attraction there was a little podium thing with brick built statues of Rocket Racer and Redbeard on it.

@@StudframeAnimations There is a new ride at the park now called Minifigure Speedway. Its a coaster (duel tracked one to be exact) and its mascot is a female minifig called Roxie Racer (look out Roxanne Wolf you've got competition!). She's literally wearing Rocket Racer's logo. So I like to think she's related to Rocket like she might be his sister or cousin. Also there is now a live show at Legoland Windsor featuring Redbeard (its the Barracuda Bay version of him) so yippe Redbeard in 2024!

There's argument over when the Classic era of Lego Castle ended. Some say it ended with Fright Knights. Some say it ended with Ninja (Ninja being a Castle theme is whole other debate topic). Some say it ended with Knights Kingdom 1.
To be honest, I don't really like putting labels on stuff. It creates this idea that "classic" LEGO was much better than anything that came after it. But there were some amazing sets that came in the later years. I love it all. 😋
@@StudframeAnimations I'm not saying the modern themes and sets are bad. I was more referring to how the style of Castle changed and some argue when the change from "classic" to "modern" era was.
@@robonaught ahh I see. When do you think the classic era ended?
@@StudframeAnimations I wanna say it was Knights Kingdom 1 because it still has enough elements in it that makes it feel "Classic". Though you can see how KK1 was like the first step to how Castle changed into the theme/story needs to have at least 2 factions which are clearly opposing the other instead of making each faction a separate sub theme which are all shown existing together in catalogues so you had to at least buy one set of each sub theme to make a scene of them crossing paths (aside from the occasional prisoner/outlaw in some sets). Also after KK1 we kind of stopped getting factions which are rogues/outlaws like the Forestmen and Wolfpack. Yeah I consider the Bulls as an outlaw faction.

How the heck do you play this on modern PCs?? My old disc /game files passed from computer to computer as the years went by no longer works, even in compatiblity mode

This reminds me of when I went on the Boating School ride at Legoland Windsor (which did feature Adventurers as part of the scenery) Nice detail of having Pippin be the one who takes your ride photo. I thought the parrot was gonna start talking like the one in Lego Island XD
Hahah I was considering that! But didn't really think that the existing voice lines for the parrot would make any sense in this video. 😂

@@ArthurIvy-l1j Thank you so much for the kind words! It’s definitely a lot of work. Even the most simplest ideas require days to make. I do try to keep production time to a minimum because I want to post videos somewhat regularly. But it’s a constant battle. 😜
I only saw two Brickster bots, maybe I was too busy soaking in the trip back to my childhood. I spent so much time in this game I could do the boulder at the end of Matching Mummies blindfolded. Maybe I should look for my copy of the game and upload a speedrun. All this is missing is for you to wander onto the tracks so Station master can fly you around. (Phew I deliberately made this comment long so I could say where the Brickster bots I saw were without spoiling the video. I saw them on the roofs of the Hospital and the Pizzeria)

@@marieoconnor1283 It depends on how you open the video on your mobile device. That dictates the “center” position. On desktop it’s straight by default. 😁

First thing I did when I got the CMF of Basil (I just bought him straight online no bothering with the blind boxes and QR codes cuz screw that) I tried to swapping the classic head on the modern torso and with the modern helmet only for me to discover the modern helmet fits far too tight on the old head (the stud on the head is slightly different) as the head actually got stuck inside the helmet when I tried taking the helmet off😭 I had to pull the head out with tweezers.

@@StudframeAnimations Yeah the stud's on minifig heads have changed over years. This video does a slightly better job on showing and explaining the changes. ruclips.net/video/WIfXkonpQ04/видео.html Basically I think the shape of the stud on Classic Basil's head doesn't properly fit with the new helmet because they're both designed differently resulting in the head getting stuck

@@StudframeAnimations So there's basically 4 different versions of minifig heads. The 4th version isn't mentioned in the video because the video was made before that version was made.
Out of curiosity, through the entirety of the stunt rally builds, why do you leave out some of the "decals" from the cars? Like the mechanical detailing on the sides on Mega Hurtz moon buggy, the Crossbones on the roof of Sid's V8 Eliminator, or the blue starred stripe here on Brad's F1 Speedster. You gave Wrench, Chip, and Lucky's cars the game accurate decals ( the decals on the sides of the Motor on Barney's dragster looked wrong in game) so why not on the competitor's cars?
@@markgee1177 You have an eye for detail. I thought no one would notice. 😂 I make this series because I would like to give people the builds so they can make the cars in real life. The decals are often not possible to buy. So I decided to save some production time by leaving them out. However Chip, Wrench, Lucky and Barney are based on official sets. They include decal stickers, but different ones if I remember right. In hindsight I should’ve left them out as well.
I do find it funny how both this game and Crash Team Racing (literally released the same year and 1 month apart) both of their second bosses are island tribe chiefs.

@@StudframeAnimations The old Lego Racers website actually said his car is built to resemble his dragon Draco. (the black dragon that came in a few Fright Knights sets and probably the same dragon seen in Knightmare-Athon).

This makes me wish there was more Lego stuff in VRChat. Like I saw a video of a VRChat map of L1 and i've seen VRChat models of the characters from Ninjago and Monkie Kid. I know VRChat can get a bit crazy and sometimes rude like swearing and stuff but I don't care! I'd die of happiness to see Basil or Cedric in VRChat.
@@robonaught I’ve seen that video as well when researching this video. I have no experience with VRChat so I wasn’t sure if that was a similar video to this. But it’s a whole lot different. 😂
@@StudframeAnimations Trust me i've never done VRChat either (I don't even have a headset) but i've watched a ton of videos on them. Since they're are quite funny to watch. I've mainly watched Sonic and FNAF related ones.
I remember playing this all the time when I was a real little kid. Still one of my favorite games to this day. You made it look beautiful. Wish I could play it like this
