You should find a skilled programmer and turn all these animations into actual games, it just makes me want to rediscover these childhood games so much !
@@StudframeAnimations If it wasn't for the looming fist of copyright/IP protection laws, it's absolutely something I'd want to do in the future - all these old Lego games are just incredible and the vibe (and even the design methodology) can't really be replicated with the current TT games.
@@AngusMacnaughtonGames I’m not entirely sure how LEGO looks at these projects. But they don’t seem to mind projects like Manic Miners and Project Island. The way I understand it now is that if you don’t call it a LEGO product and also don’t make any money of it, it’s alright. But someone please correct me if that’s not correct. 😁
@@StudframeAnimations I will see if I can find anything - usually the blanket rule is that if you don't explicitly have the rights, you can't do anything (even if it's for free), but as you say there are some projects that haven't been killed yet. Impressive making every character so lively and nailing every moment! Even down to the flags lowered per capture and the Admiral and Redbeard adjusting in their port holes. If only it didn't make me want more made now, maybe I'll play the game again as I wait :)
I sadly never played this one (though I did actually play physical chess with my granddad). I do like the Pirates story and cutscenes over the Western ones (cuz I like pirates in general and I was already familiar with Redbeard because of Racers) Apparently there was supposed to be 4 stories but only Pirates and Western made it in. Adventurers was one of the two stories scrapped. Dr Kilroy was King, Pippin Read was Queen, Johnny Thunder (under his UK name Sam Grant) was Knight, Pharaoh Hotep was Rook, Slyboots was Bishop and the regular skeleton pharaohs were the Pawns. There is a document showing the script for the story. Interestingly Samuel Von Baron is completely absent and its only Slyboots who is after the ruby. Castle was the other story that was scrapped but there's no information on what Castle theme they were gonna use, which minifigures to represent the pieces were gonna be or what the story was gonna be.
@@StudframeAnimations Nearly all of the old school Lego Games have loads of interesting behind the scenes and stuff which didn't make it into the final game. I do have a suspicion the Castle story could have been Royal Knights since you can see the Royal Knights castle through the window in the main menu.
@@StudframeAnimations Maybe the story could have been the Royal Knights up against the Dragon Masters (some catalogues showed them fighting) or maybe up against the Fright Knights (there was a Royal Knight as a prisoner in the Night Lord's Castle set)
