I remember buying the "Jeff Beck w/ the Jan Hammer Group LIVE!" on album, when it came out. 1977. Although it wasn't a commercial success, I love the songs from "Wired" and "Blow by Blow," especially "Blue Wind," and "Freeway Jam" too. I was lucky enough to see him twice in concert. RIP Guitar man.

Ramblin Man! Me too, I had the 💿, but I don't think it's on "Blow by Blow" his 2nd solo album probably. Jan and Jeff together should have been a Supergroup, even better than Cream, IMO-- his playing was otherworldly, no one could do finger- style like Jeff ,R&R Bluegrass -- the ONLY exception was Dire Straight's Mark Knopler, I like 2 think Jeff's playing in the Heavenly orchestra 😥🎹🎶

Used to crank it up every Friday night through my 3 channel stereo VCR into my 3 channel amp with two 3 way front speakers with 12 inch inch woofers, two 2 way rear speakers with 8 inch woofers and a JBL 2 way speaker in the center with a 5 inch woofer and titanium tweeter. Also had the 4 speakers from the Sony TV on too. No subwoofer needed. Cutting edge then. Cranked as loud as possible without the neighbors complaining. Love that theme.

@jeepercreepers54 The drums kept things moving but this was not about the drums. It highlights keys and guitar so staying out of the way is wise. Knowing what not to play is often more important than blazing away. It is a sign of being a musician.

Met Jeff backstage at Pinecrest (Connecticut; August 1976) after a fantastic Beck/Hammer Live outdoor gig. The only topic of conversation was his excitement to the upcoming fall leg where he was to selectively co-bill w/Tommy Bolin (Teaser-Nemporer/Private Eyes-CBS). Unfortunately Tommy passed away at his hotel after their opening date in Miami on Dec 4, 1976 as I recall. Two kindred souls with mutual respect. Tommy was also related to Jan from the Spectrum (Billy Cobham) sessions.

I had "Blue Wind" on an 8-track tape and we used to blast this going down the freeway. Anybody remember the first car power boosters? I had an Audiovox power booster in my car.

I was trying to be a young evangelical Christian back in the 80s, when Miami Vice was on, Friday nights - my guilty TV pleasure. I’d hear the Tom Tom drum intro to Jan Hammer’s fantastic theme music, see the bikinis on screen, and feel a wave of joy and peace that I never got from Jesus.

Yeah but did Miami Vice offer you forgiveness of all your sins and eternal life in the kingdom of the creator of all things? Hope you turned back to Christ cause time is running out man .. today perhaps your soul is required of you after that car crash or heart attack .. we never know. The gospel is not about your best life now.

@@chrisstrobel3439 Miami Vice was an hour of escapism per week. It’s not how I live my life. I’m living so as to be rich toward God, whether I die tonight or not, seeking to love my neighbor and use my resources for good. Not out of fear of punishment, but willingly. Your fear mongering is a manipulative technique of the flesh and the world, and the reason I left evangelical culture.

I grew up with those two guys and their music. And „Wired", Jeff Beck's 1976 album that includes this song, was one of the „treasures" in my long player collection.

I went to a concert at the Horden pavilion (AUS) in the 70's and saw a JB/JH concert , it was brilliant.
