Rory is the man. I was only 10 when he passed and my Old Man was crushed. Some years later we got to see Beck at BB King's in NYC. We weren't superrrr into him, but I believe he payed with his daughter on bass and it was an incredible show.
When I was nineteen I had a depressed parrot that would only perk up when I played Jeff Beck. I can still hear that record in my head.Goodbye Jeff I'm glad you are part of my life.

Jeff Beck was one of the best guitar players ever. He was super talented. The problem is ..... his "songs" sucked! It's really little more than just noise. I don't think in his entire career he's come up with a song you can actually sing to or even hum. It's a shame he couldn't put his great skills together with making music rather than just noise.
I don't think anyone will ever reach him. But everyone who does get close will have a great future once they find their own style. The world is a darker place without him. o7 Jeff Beck.

Saw this incredible guy on stage with Tim Bogert and Carmine Appice back in the 70s. His playing was stratospherically soaring and I'll never forget it. What a dreadful loss. RIP Jeff.
I have a friend who is an accomplished guitarist and a former editor for Guitar Player magazine who once told me that bassist Tim Bogert was the only guitarist that Jeff feared!. LOL

Such great memories. Got the opportunity to see him live in 09. An absolute giant of innovation, virtuosity and sound. The news this morning was a bummer, but it's not until watching this that I've realised how hard it's hitting. RIP Jeff Beck. There'll never be another.

He was playing concerts up to very recently that were amazing people at how powerful his playing was...at almost 80!! The way he was always out there left the impression he was going to keep going for a long time yet. There was no other player like him who just kept killing it as long as he did. I wish he would have kept playing until he was 100 and it felt like he just might have. At least to me it did
It's sad to see giants pass, but there are so many impressive young guitarists today. I like Yvette Young, and Scotty LePage and Tim Henson of Polyphia.

Beck loved to share the spotlight, one of the things I loved about him. He would bring out superstars and unknowns and give them a chance to play for millions of people live and in TV. He wanted everyone to shine, enthusiastic about music to the end.
I remember this show. I already had the disc and was panting to see this exact song done live. It didn't disappoint - I was taken to another place. None other like him.

Jeff was one of the greatest players of all time and moved into the world of jazz a.k.a. John McLaughlin and was just light years ahead of most rock players. ROCK IN PEACE. This is a person that will be greatly missed in the musical community.🎼🎸

What do you know? We lost another fabulous and legendary guitarist, Jeff Beck. He played phenomenally at this Letterman show. The other musicians were first-rate as well. My condolences to all of his family members and friends. Rest in peace Jeff, and I hope to meet you in the afterlife.

Times are such that almost every week one of our old rock gods or goddesses dies. And in western countries there is hardly any prospect of offspring. If you ask a 17-year-old about rock and heavy metal today, you'll get the answer: "Ahh rock, is that these 80-year-old great-grandfathers?" "And heavy metal, is that those 60 year old grandpas?" 5 generations invented this music, made it big, enjoyed it and now we let it die ???

I've played my Strat and Telecaster in bands for 50 years. Won some awards. Am told I am really good. I'm OK. Jeff Beck is THE MASTER. The sounds he gets out of his axe. His style. His creatvity. Not gimmicks but truly excellent to listen to. Set a high bar for others to look up to. Thank you for sharing this talent My. Beck. I call you the "Bus Driver" because every time I heard you play, you took me to school.

Its a terrible day for the world of genuine, non-commercial, creative music. Jeff was a force of musical Nature. We have lost a truly rare, trailblazing, "one of the few remaining" heads of state in what remains of music that is true, pure and genuine genius. We needed Jeff Beck. Damn! Just damn!
