  • Many people ask about increasing the speed of their punches, when really they just need to stop telegraphing! This fun partner drill forces you to minimizing telegraphing, which in turn makes you throw "faster" and land more punches.

    I think a lot of people underestimate the effect it can have on your opponent to land a punch they didn't see coming. Hit them with a few of those and you can have them on the back foot easily. It's not all about power.

      100% fucking percent. Ppl out here focusing too much on power when in reality effectiveness and landing punches comes from precision on technique and non telegraphing as Michael Jai White says “Technique beats speed”

    I do this drill pretty often. I like the way you did it with the shoulders stopping before they pinch because it becomes too fast a with them that people are going for when they do the drill.

I'd like to see a video on the "muay thai march" and the "stance dance" as with being in constant motion can also mask shots and cancels out any telegraphing shots there may be, being in constant motion also helps to promote fakes to lead into true shots.

    Here's a better idea: telegraph intentionally to throw your opponent off, and then don't throw that shot that you telegraphed. Exanple: show the straight right, load up, then jump in with a gazelle punch left lead hook. It will be loaded up already just from showing that right hand and turning your hips into it a bit

    To my mind, once you master your own body(minimize giving away your strategy through tells), then you can compensate the loss of power in quick sure-hits, with distracting and rapid hits to prep an alpha strike out of nowhere.
    But, this is only an opinion from an imaginative viewer, who has never been in a fight, I could be wrong.
    Also, I'd surmise you shouldn't distract yourself with focus on yourself, and learn to read your opponent as well.

    • @kvee6840
      @kvee6840 5 лет назад +1

      Not exactly sure what an alpha strike is haha. But you're on to something. Check out Nick Diaz, he kinda does what you're describing. Throws constant weaker but persice punches and mixes in random power shots when the opponent isn't expecting it.

    • @wildside316
      @wildside316 5 лет назад +1

      @@kvee6840 What I mean by "alpha strike", is a fight-ender, a KO shot. I'm a bit of a gamer, I first heard "alpha strike" in the MMORPG City Of Heroes. Alpha Strike was the most damaging, most powerful power that, if it didn't KO the enemy, it dropped their hit points significantly(usually to where a series of lesser shots should finish the job quickly.
      And ty☺.

      I mean your going to have to get enough money to travel to America and then land a decent job too. Probably avoid any big cities like New York or L.A since the rent is so expensive. I would advise going to somewhere like Texas or something, I’m not really an expert on mma gym or rent geography in America so take this with a grain of salt. If you have enough money after the plane ticket you could try to get some training in real estate, it gets you a ton of money and you don’t need a degree. If you do want to become a real estate agent I recommend watching Tom ferry, I’ve heard good things about him. Good luck on getting money for the plane ticket though.

      I take it you want to be in the UFC? Train in local gyms, fight in local promotions. If there isn't one in India, try a neighbouring country. The stable route is by locally building your skills and name. Maybe then sign with a promotion where fighters tend to move on to ONE, or sign to ONE directly if they reach out to you and you're ready for the jump. Easier to angle for American promotions from the bigger Asian promotions like ONE and Rizin. OR if you can somehow get a visa and work permit to fight in America, do that and join the smaller promotions like LFA, Cage Fighter, etc. build a reputation there and UFC/Bellator will come knocking.
